Description
Recreation Advisory Board - April 20, 2023
A
A
First
thing
we
can
do
is
take
a
look
at
the
agenda
we
have.
Does
anybody
have
anything
they'd
like
to
add
or
note
in
the
agenda
that
currently
stands.
A
All
right
so
I'll
make
a
motion.
A
C
A
Okay,
you
go.
Thank
you.
Second,
okay,
Stuart!
Thank
you
all
right
and
then
next
on
the
list,
the
minutes
from
March
did
you
guys
have
anything
to
add.
Any
changes
have
even
made
look
good
to
me.
C
A
Thank
you,
okay.
Well,
moving
right
along,
we
have
a
pretty
full
slate
today
and
the
first
thing
on
the
new
business
we
have
on
their
adaptive
sports
and
recreation.
Catalog
I've
heard
it
as
just
a
different
arrangement
of
the
night
of
the
words
so
Recreation
adaptive,
Sports
and
basically
the
reason
that
I
thought
it
would
be.
A
good
thing
to
do
is
to
catalog
or
just
take
an
inventory
of
what
options
that
we
have.
That
would
fall
under
that
category.
A
It
was
brought
to
my
attention
really
recently
actually
that
there
was
a
bowling
option
that
had
been
taken
away
because
roller
Bowl
closed
due
to
covid,
and
so
that
was
something
that
was
sounds
like
it
was
very
popular
and
they
were
actually
did
quite
well
and
excelled
at
the
state
level,
and
it
just
got
me
to
thinking
like
I
didn't
even
realize.
A
Maybe
what
we
can
do
is
spend
you
know
from
between
now
and
the
next
meeting
and
try
to
come
up
with
a
list
of
what
we
have
or
what
we
could
have.
A
You
know
whether
you
have
personal
or
no
anybody,
or
maybe
you
don't
but
ask
people
in
your
neighborhood
whatever
it
may
be.
I
just
happen
to
run
into
someone
at
the
ball
fields
and
I
feel,
like
that's
kind
of
the
essence
of
what
we're
trying
to
do
on
this
board
is
to
bring
to
light
things
that
people
in
the
community
are
concerned
about,
or
you
know,
notice
that
are
now
lacking
that
maybe
weren't
so
I.
E
Think
that's
a
great
idea
too,
and
not
just
for
maybe
like
sport
options
offered,
but
for
like
the
movies
in
the
park,
are
they
closed,
captioned,
I,
I've
never
been
or
if
we're,
having
some
kind
of,
if
the
music
performance
are
we
having
like
an
ASL
interpreter
perform
next
to
that
is
their
like?
Is
there
a
space
available
for
speaking
from
some
experience?
E
If
someone
needs
a
quiet
space,
if
they
get
overwhelmed
sensory
Wise
from
being
outside
from
participating
in
like
the
music
event,
is
there
a
space
available
like
inside
or
nearby,
where
you
can?
You
know,
decompress
in
a
quiet
space,
so
I
think
it's
a
great
idea
both
on
the
like
the
rec
side
and
the
Arts
Park
like
side
of
things.
C
A
That's
I
think
that's
an
excellent
point,
so
yeah
I
think
we
should
include
I.
Think
things
like
that
as
well.
Great
okay,
that's
kind
of
that's
a
relatively
new
thing,
just
kind
of
was
on
my
mind
recently
and
so
I
wanted
to
get
that
on
there
and
have
that
be
something
that
we
can
become
more
aware
and
make
hopefully
make
improvements.
I.
D
Think
it's
a
great
point
and
just
to
talk
about
a
little
bit
in
my
role
at
the
University
in
our
department
and
obviously,
we've
got
sport,
coaching
and
Recreation
as
a
managed
Recreation
as
well
pedagogy
and
there's
a
course
that
we
run
as
faculty
in
our
department
called
rec2750,
which
is
inclusive,
Recreation
and
and
the
course
description
says
the
course
will
introduce
students
to
the
concepts,
methods
and
settings
for
developing
inclusive
Recreation
services
for
diverse
populations
and
adaptive
Recreation
and
sport
is,
is
part
of
that.
D
These
Concepts
and
methods
can
be
applied
to
individuals
and
groups
that
may
need
adaptations
or
inclusive
Recreation
services.
Students
will
gain
knowledge
in
universal
access,
design
and
inclusion
in
community
settings.
So
maybe
we
have
an
opportunity
where
we
can
utilize
some
of
the
expertise
that
and
the
faculty
remember,
and
then
the
students
are
landing
in
there
and
try
to
maybe
collate
some
information
from
them
and
highlight.
D
Is
there
some
sort
of
projects
that
we
can
start
with
and
to
give
us
a
bit
of
an
idea
of
how
to
create
a
catalog
or
try
to
create
something
that
would
be
good
to
be
used
in
the
community
and
then
from
the
University
setting?
We
can
do
something
from
an
experiential
learning
point.
So
I
think
that's
a
really
good
point
that
we
can
maybe
tie
in
with
something
that
I'm
trying
to
do
in
our
department.
D
That
sounds
excellent
and
we
could
even
invite
those
students
to
one
of
our
meetings
or
something
and
they
could
maybe
or
we
could
do
an
adult
meeting
and
we
could
gain
some
information
about
what
they'd
think
should
be
in
a
community
setting
as
well
as
general
population,
and
bring
something
together
and
try
and
create
something.
Okay,.
A
F
A
Okay,
let's
make
a
plan
then,
before
we
move
on,
you
know,
I
think
we
have
a
great
start
so
I
think
next
meeting
we
should
spend
a
little
bit
of
time
just
to
see
where
we
are
on
this
and
and
what
it
maybe
even
become
because
like
when
I
think,
catalog
I
think
okay,
it's
nice
to
know,
because
it
would
then
help
us
identify
what
is
lacking
or
what
you
know
we
have
that
we
can
highlight.
Then
you
consider
maybe
people
that
would
move
to
the
community.
A
Okay,
well,
let's
go
ahead
and
move
to
the
next
topic:
augment
augmentative
augmentative.
A
Way,
either
augmentative
augmentative,
yes
or
alternative
communication.
Core
communication
boards.
E
Yeah
and
I
think
this
is
a
great
kind
of
to
piggyback
off
of
what
you
what
you
write
about:
catalog
cataloging,
what
we
offer,
because
this
is
kind
of
a
passive
program,
sort
of
thing
that
a
way
to
make
playgrounds
more
accessible
to
folks
who
have
what
is
often
an
individual,
invisible
disability,
which
is
some
kind
of
speech
or
language
barrier
that
prevents
them
from
communicating.
So
I
brought
some
stuff
to
show
you
all,
because
I
think
it's
really
cool.
E
My
my
son
is
autistic
and
and
non-speaking,
and
so
one
of
the
things
that
we're
always
looking
for
ways
to
make
things
more
inclusive
for
him
and
one
of
the
modalities
that's
used
at
where
he
takes
speech.
Language
therapy
sort
of
sessions
is
what's
called
a
lamp,
so
we
call
it
his
talker
and
it's
a
screen
with
buttons.
You
push
and
there's
a
lot.
E
This
is
this
is
a
it's
a
complicated
kind
of
piece
of
equipment
here,
but,
for
example,
you
can
touch
color
and
it
pulls
up
a
list
of
the
colors
and
helps,
and
so
for
my
son,
who
sometimes
just
can't
get
the
word
out.
This
is
a
way
that
he
knows
he's
learning
where
to
find
these
different
buttons
and
how
to
navigate
through
these,
so
I'm
just
gonna
pass
it
around
play
with
it.
It
will
and
then
it
speaks
back
to
you.
E
It
also
encourages-
or
it
doesn't
necessarily
just
speak
for
him,
but
it
encourages
him
to
model
the
speech.
So
after
you
kind
of
touch
the
device
and
create
a
little
sentence,
you
hit,
you
hit
the
button
and
it
and
it
speaks
kind
of
for
him,
and
it
helps
him
model
the
language
there
and
you
might
imagine,
as
you
can
see
as
it
goes
down
it's
it's
an
iPad.
It's
an
app.
Some.
E
There
are
some
dedicated
devices,
it's
an
app
on
an
iPad
and
it's
a
it's
a
pricey
piece
of
equipment,
but
for
a
lot
of
students,
a
lot
of
folks
who
are
either
pre-verbal
non-verbal,
whether
it's
because
they're
neurodivergent
or
because
of
some
kind
of
trauma,
that's
prevented
them
from
speaking
it's.
It
goes
with
them
everywhere
and
because
of
that,
it's
prone
to
damage.
That's
our
second
one
and
the
screen
cracking
thing
like
that
and
if
you
are
at
a
playground,
it's
tough
some
of
the
students
out
at
speech,
language
with
us.
E
They
wear
them
on
a
strap
around
their
shoulder
kind
of
all
the
time
it's
it's
kind
of
like
having
a
very
expensive
purse
with
you
wherever
you
go
or
the
guardian
or
caregiver
has
to
be
holding
on
to
it,
and
it's
tough
to
be
at
a
playground
when
you
only
have
one
hand
to
do
so
long
story
short
had
my
other
visual
aid
for
you
all
today.
It's
fun
I'm
in
full
teacher
mode.
E
So
on
a
vacation
we
took
the
kids
to
a
playground
to
burn
off
some
steam
and
they
had
these
out
next
to
them.
There
you
go
so
there.
There.
G
E
It
now
it's
terrible,
so
this
is
a
this.
One
is
a
three
by
five
kind
of
piece
of
poster
board
here
and
at
this
particular
playground.
They
had
these
mounted
on
just
ballards.
You
know
in
between
they
were,
they
were
posted
behind.
E
Plexiglass
I
think
the
the
playground
was
mostly
like
a
wood
natural
Escape,
so
they
were
just
on
like
like
four
by
fours
planted
in
the
ground,
and
it
was
a
really
kind
of
fun
moment
to
see
a
playground
that
had
taken
into
consideration
autistic
students,
students
who,
like
English,
might
not
be
their
first
language
for
whatever
reason:
pre-verbal
kids,
younger
little
kids.
This
is
a
this
is
a
pretty
complicated
board
right
here.
E
This
is
the
one
that
they
use
at
school,
but
they
make
more
streamlined
versions
of
this
for
four
playgrounds
and
and
schools,
School
Playgrounds
on
City
playgrounds.
Things
like
that,
and
it's
it's
just
I-
think
a
nice
way
to
gesture
toward
like
Daniel,
said
inclusion
of
a
lot
of
different
folks
who
are
utilizing
these
these
Rec
spaces,
and
it's
also
a
pretty
I've
done.
A
little
bit
of
preliminary
research.
E
I've
been
talking
to
some
of
the
folks
at
the
public
library
to
get
one
perhaps
installed
in
their
like
play:
space
behind
the
library
as
well.
It's
also
a
relatively
kind
of
affordable
update
to
outdoor
or
indoor
Rec
spaces,
the
the
company
who
makes
the
the
lamp
device
and
the
the
posters
they
offer
a
free
download
of
a
PDF
of
these
posters.
It's
just
then,
on
the
you
know,
the
the
body
that's
providing
these
to
to
get.
E
You
know,
printing
services
getting
it
actually
installed,
but
there's
no
there's
like
there's
no
licensing
fee,
there's
no
IP
fees
or
anything
for
this.
The
company
just
gives
sort
of
blanket
permission
to
cities.
Libraries
schools
to
to
put
these
up
so
so.
E
E
The
the
speech
language
Pathologists
that
we
work
with
at
pivot
point,
which
is
here
in
Athens,
County,
she's
volunteered
her
time
I
can
I
can
send
contact
info
out
to
all
of
you
as
well
she's
volunteered,
both
financially
to
help
with
funds
as
far
as
printing
goes,
but
also
of
her
time
to
come
in
and
talk
to
say
the
folks
who
work
at
the
community
center.
E
If
one
was
installed
in
indoors
at
you
know,
in
the
gym
to
work
with
the
with
the
staff
out
there,
just
with
some
best
practices
how
to
work
with
students,
help
them
point,
and
you
know
mimic
speech
things
like
that
and
to
you
know,
come
have.
You
know,
come
out
and
have
us
you
know,
be
at
a
playground
and
show
folks
how
we
might.
H
E
E
This
board,
it
looks
like
if
you
pull
up
the
one.
That's
on
the
talker.
This
one
does
look
pretty
much
like
the
home
page
for.
E
E
H
E
Playground
stay
the
size
of
Richland
Avenue,
probably
enough
right,
I
I,
think
about
their
the
the
structure
that
exists
does
have
a
like
a
sign
language
board
on
there
I
know
the
playground
that
used
to
be
behind
West
had
a
sign
language
board
as
well
about
about
that
size.
E
The
the
playground
where
we
initially
encountered
these
was
was
huge,
was
was
Giant
and
had
I
think
it
was
kind
of
like
six
versions
of
Richland
all
in
different
places,
and
they
had
three
so
basically
like
every
other
area
play
area
had
one
of
those,
but
it
I
think
it
would
also
just
depend
on
number
of
of
users
as
well.
It's
it's
not
I,
don't
think
it's!
It's
necessarily
the
highlight
of
going
like
the
students
aren't
going
to
go
or
students
kids
aren't
going
to.
E
C
E
Yes,
yeah,
like
I,
said
Stephanie
Mano
out
at
Pivot
Point
speech
therapy
I'm
happy
to
forward
her
contact
to
everyone
she's
volunteered.
This
is
some
some
financial
help
and
both
her
time
and
expertise
at
using
this
she's
also
really
she's
good
friends
with
the
the
lamp,
the
PRC
representative
for
our
area
for,
like
the
Southeast,
Ohio,
Meg's,
Fenton
and
I.
Think
parts
of
West
Virginia
as
well.
E
The
rep
who
comes
down
and
does
classes
free
classes
to
teach
folks
how
to
better
use
the
actual
like
electronic
version
of
lamp.
So
yeah
I
think
that
I
think
that
this
is
one
of
those
things
that
Could
Happen
relatively
quickly
and
with
not
a
not
a
huge
footprint,
both
financially
or
you
know,
physically.
A
Well,
yeah:
let's
Let's
keep
working
on
the
new
business
and
then
we
have
plenty
of
old
business
to
kind
of
shift
too
Ash
and
I
had
a
brief
meeting
and
we've
we've
worked
on
the
bylaws
and
have
you
guys
all
had
a
chance
to
take
a
look
at
them?
They're,
it's
pretty
straightforward,
the
thing
that
let
me
pull
it
up
the
thing
that
was
a
little
different
for
what
we
traditionally
had
was,
for
example,
the
terms
how
all
the
information
was
grouped.
A
A
E
Maybe
I
read
over
it
about
the
terms
of
office.
If
this
is
in
part,
because
I
I
think
I
came
in
mid
midterm
but
I'm
not
sure
it.
C
E
B
I
sent
an
email
to
Patty
to
update
and
add
Stuart
and
Annie
onto
the
website,
because
they
weren't
on
there
for
a
vacancy
and
Greg
lavelle's
term
had
expired
in
January
and
so
Stewart
took
over
the
term.
Starting
on
that
date,
however,
Annie
was
fulfilling
the
term
vacated
by
Rebecca
Dillon,
so
her
date
is
a
partial
date
on
theirs.
It's
so
she's,
not
a
full
three
years.
She
would
be
the
remainder
of
Rebecca's
three
years.
Okay,.
C
E
E
E
B
A
C
B
B
C
A
C
A
It
again
yeah
I
kind
of
feel
like
maybe
we
need
a
little
more
time
just
to
you
know,
take
an
hour
to
look
at
it.
It's
not
the
most
exciting
stuff,
but
you
know
it
would
be
good
to
get
this
in
it's
better
than
to
be
hanging
around
your
neck,
like
an
albatross,
not
that
it
is
I
think
this
is
great,
because
this
will
help
us
all
be
in
line
and
easier
for
somebody
to
understand
the
differences
between
all
the
Committees
and
boards.
A
D
B
B
C
D
E
So
that
that
4.6
section
one
that
means
that,
should
someone
resign
mid
or
be
removed,
it
doesn't
have
to
go
to
a
vote.
Then
the
mayor
can
just
appoint
someone
to
fill
those
spaces,
so
we
don't
have
to
wait
for
votes
or
is
that
is
that
correct,
I'm
reading.
A
E
G
E
B
A
B
A
Let's
plan
on
that
also
note.
A
A
We're
all
set
say:
let's
move
to
the
master
plan
ad
hoc
committee
Andrea.
Would
you
like
to
yeah.
B
And
I'll
let
Megan
can
jump
in
or
you
can
too
so
we
had
an
initial
meeting
with
Catherine
Ann
kind
of
to
go
over
the
logistics
of
what
she
saw,
how
she
saw
the
role
of
the
master
plan
committee,
how
that
extended
to
the
rec
Advisory
Board
and
how
the
communication
and
planning
and
support
would
flow.
It
was
a
great
meeting.
We
talked
about
really
because
it's
been
so
long.
B
So
that
they're
aware
some
more
you
know,
segmented
neighborhood
type
meetings
would
happen
in
different
areas
of
Interest
meetings
would
happen
to
kind
of
gather
information
and
that
those
types
of
things-
maybe
this
may
be
facilitated
by
members
of
the
board
so
that
we're
talking
with
communities
that
we're
comfortable
with
and
have
a
staff
person
or
herself
there
to
answer
questions.
But
really
so
it's
not
a.
Why?
Don't
you
do
this,
you
do
you
know,
so
people
can
have
a
Freer
conversation
about
what
their
concerns
needs
and
some
of
those
opportunities
are.
B
She
also
made
it
a
point
to
make
sure
that
we're,
including
a
little
bit
of
Education
about
the
levy
and
when
it
expires-
and
you
know,
there's
money-
that's
open
that
already
has
been
included
in
the
levy
that
is
being
spent
right
now
until
is
it
2036
was
that
the
expiring
date
I.
H
B
So
having
a
master
plan
now
is
part
of
the
using
those
funds
and
spending
those
funds
that
we
have
already
been
voted
on
and
approved
and
then
and
those
types
of
things,
so
she
sent
the
initial
kit,
so
we
can
start
developing
and
working
on
as
a
group,
you
know
some
surveys
and
ways
we
want
to
reach
the
community,
so
those
Communications,
the
master
plan
committee
will
mean
we
may
send
that
in
an
email
kind
of
feedback
tasks
to
add
into
those
things.
B
E
That
all
sounds
that
sounds
correct,
that,
like
that,
what
we
talked
about
I
think
the
focus
really
was.
How
do
we?
Let
people
know
that
this
is
happening
before
it's
before
it
has
happened,
and
then
it's
complaints
right,
like
letting
people
know
that
they
they
their
input,
is
desired
like
right.
Now
this
is
happening
and
we
talked
about
a
like
a
due
date,
too
right,
I.
Think
Danielle
did
you
say
like
January
1,.
E
A
B
E
A
A
new
one
and
I
would
say,
but
also
that
would
just
be
a
good.
You
know,
of
course,
not
set
in
stone,
but
it's
nice
to
have
something
to
a
goal.
G
Believe
I'm.
B
Gonna
send
that
to
the
whole
group,
so
you
can
there's
some
things
in
there
that
are
still
outstanding
that
are
not
that
are
good
ideas
that
may
need
to
be
Revisited
but
included.
Maybe
in
some
of
our
discussions,
what
was
the
one
thing?
She
said
that
people
that
came
up
we
were
talking
about
outdoor
chess,
oh.
E
E
C
A
Get
a
jump
on
what
we
you
know
what
those
things
could
be:
yeah,
yeah
I,
think
that
would
be
great
and.
C
B
B
A
C
A
C
B
Talking
about
at
starting
in
June
at
a
lot
of
these
community
events,
because
we'll
have
parts
of
the
population
there
that,
in
addition
to
community
meetings,
is
setting
up
ways
for
either
taking
surveys
so
iPads
or
you
know
having
the
QR
code.
So
people
could
scan
it
themselves,
but
if
they
didn't
have
a
phone
or
were
uncomfortable
using
one
having
the
iPad
say
you
know,
can
we
ask
you
these
three
questions
and
do
it
with
them
or
be
able
to
record
those
with
some
of
the
help
from
their
interns
and
staff
that
they
have?
A
At
a
I
was
at
a
concert
last
year
and
like
that's
kind
of
something
that
happened
there,
that
was
Interactive.
It
was
interesting
because
you,
you
could
learn
things,
but
also
they
were
trying
to
get
information
like
that.
I
think
that
that
would
be
it's
a.
It
would
be
an
easy
way,
and
it's
like
what
we
talked
about
in
that
meeting.
Where
we
have
a.
How
can
we
improve
getting
the
word
out
to
community
members
faster
and
or
easier?
You
know
how
how
to
just
overall
make
it
better.
A
So
yeah
that
kind
of
jumping
ahead
to
like
in
the
in
the
other
business,
that's
one
thing:
Catherine,
Ann
and
I
were
and
I
think
we
had
all
talked
about.
This
was
our
next
meeting
is
also
the
first
concert
in
the
park
and
so
I
don't
know
if
you
can
understand
how
my
notes
were
here,
but
it's
the
third
Thursdays
from
six
to
eight
pm,
May,
June,
July
and
August.
A
So
that's
something
that
we
can
think
about.
We
don't
have
to
make
a
decision.
B
Can't
so
yeah
there's
options
we
can
have
our.
We
can
change
the
time
move
our
meeting
up
to
five
o'clock.
We
can
have
it
at
the
rec
center
and
it
still
can
be
recorded.
The
government
channel
will
do
that
if
that's
convenient
for
for
folks.
If
that
makes
sense,
and
then
you
can
walk
right
over
to
the
music
in
the
park,
if
it's
at
the
community
center.
A
B
B
Be
there
be
present
at
these
functions
because
they're,
you
know,
community
events
with
her
staff
and.
E
B
A
B
E
B
A
C
B
B
A
A
Okay,
I'll
do
some
highlights
that
we
talked
about,
but
also
you
guys
are.
You
all
have
in
front
of
you
what
we're.
So
we
have
Master
planning,
that's
kind
of
that's
what
we
just
talked
about
with
the
ad
hoc
committee,
the
pool.
So
it
sounds
like
there
was
some
exciting
stuff
going
on
down
in
that
area,
I'm,
not
on
that
side
of
town.
But
oh.
B
C
A
One
thing:
so,
while
we're
going
down
under
pool
just
a
couple
things
to
note
the
plastic
three
2023
we'll
have
aluminum
cans
and
aluminum
bottled
water,
so
that'll
be
different,
thus
always
good
trying
to
reduce
our
Plastics.
The
paint
in
the
repainting
they're
they're,
still
waiting
on
the
weather,
it
hasn't
been
cooperative
and
that
there
hasn't
been
a
long
enough
string
of
warm
enough
nights.
A
So
hopefully
that
will
be
something
that
they
can
tackle
soon,
but
that
you
know
that's
one
of
those
things
it's
it's
they're
on
it
as
best
as
they
can
and
it's
more
about
the
weather,
and
you
can't
really
do
anything
so
anyway.
Yeah
that
was
one
of
the
the
highlights
foreign.
A
So
there's
been
additional
shade
on
shade
structures.
That's
needed,
but
also
I
do
I.
Do
want
to
note.
I
was
down
on
the
softball
fields,
one
and
two
in
the
shade
structures
that
were
up
that
were
installed
recently.
They've
had
some
additions
to
them
to
provide
more
shade,
and
actually
it's
quite
nice,
so.
C
A
Yeah
yeah
we
had
a
couple
bouts
of
big
big
wins
and
yeah.
They
seem
good,
looks
like
soccer
fields,
there's
some
more
dirt
work
to
be
done,
drainage,
work
and
seating.
A
The
riparian
project,
that's
ongoing!
Anybody,
that's
interested
or
knows
much
about
invasive
control,
that'll
be
a
five
to
probably
more
likely
10-year
seed
bed
that
they're
going
to
be
dealing
with
but
plant
the
pollinator
seeds
are
going
to
be
planted
later
this
month.
You
know
one
of
the
exciting
things
about
invasive
control.
Is
that
does
provide
an
opportunity
to
see
what's
coming
up
coming
back,
it's
actually
native,
you
know
and
or
something
that
you
would
like
to
have.
A
Okay,
Community
Center
looks
like
the
roof
replacement
is
set
to
begin
on
the
24th,
so
that's
prep,
Works
already
started,
which
was
I,
guess
the
Prelude.
That
was
the
excitement,
but
it's
exciting,
because
this
is
something
that's
been
needed
done
and
talked
about
for
a
couple
years
now.
So
it's
good
to
see
that
happening.
The
solar
array
project,
the
panels
will
be
installed
at
the
pool.
The
prep
work
has
begun
there
as
well.
So
that's
kind
of
that's
another
one
of
those.
B
A
One
thing
that
I'll
bring
up
I
think
that
wow
we're
on
this
area
of
the
city,
a
person
that
lives
over
on
that
side
of
town
across
from
the
from
the
community
center
actually
back.
A
They
noted
in
the
riparian
project
where
the
grubbing
happened
there
used.
There
was
Elderberry.
There
was
black
raspberry.
There
were
other
thing
plants
that
they
used
to
like
to
go
down
and
forage
in
the
warmer
months
and
when
it
got
grubbed
everything
was
removed.
A
So,
sadly,
you
know
with
things
like
Elderberry,
you
can
take
cuttings
and
easily
start
new
plants,
so
that
was
kind
of
something
we
missed,
but
you
know
we
could
still
see
what
regenerates
they
had
that
concern,
but
then
also
with
the
solar
array
project,
there
were
in
the
area
where
this,
the
main
solar
array,
the.
A
The
old
dog
park
that
area
used
to
have
bluebird
houses
that
got
taken
down,
and
so
they
were,
they
were
concerned.
What
happened
with
them,
but
also
and
I,
talked
to
Catherine
Ann
about
this
I.
A
Just
thought:
I'd
bring
this
up
because
I
think
that's
a
simple
solution
to
install
something
like
that
in
these
solar
arrays
I
know,
we've
talked
about
the
pollinator
Garden,
but
that's
also
a
great
opportunity
for
to
provide
habitat
for
species
that
you
know
we
would
normally
have
around
here,
but
they,
you
know
like
bluebirds,
ideally
would
nest
in
a
dead
tree.
A
snag
is
what
it's
called
and
I
had
one
in
my
backyard
to
do
that.
A
You
know
it
struck
a
chord
and
I
can
understand
that.
So
I
think
that
a
good
way
to
you.
F
B
A
A
You
might
wonder,
yeah,
you
might
wonder
why
they
have
two
back
to
back,
but
a
bluebird
can
we'll
nest
in
one
in
a
tree.
Swallow
will
nest
in
the
other
side,
typically
without
problem.
So
that
way
you
have
two
nests
in
one
spot
and
both
are
very
beneficial
because
they
eat
a
lot
of
insects
overall,
just
kind
of
they
do
a
good
job,
a
good
deed
and
you
get
to
enjoy
seeing
them.
C
E
But
it's
like
a
way
to
kind
of
double
dip
like
this
is
if
the
community
is
really
interested
in
increasing
Songbird
population
and
want
those
houses
back
and
they
come
and
like
help
participate
in
building
them.
So
we're
not
just
you
know,
ordering
a
bunch
of
prefab
houses
and
sticking
them
up.
Is
it
or
or
half
and
half
right
something
like
that
where
they
can
come
and
participate.
A
In
this
that's
a
great
idea
and
I
would
say
that
I
think
that
would
be
doable
easily
because
you
know
going
back
to
when
I
was
in
school
at
Athens
we
built
a
birdhouse
one
year,
yeah
into
my
high
school
career.
You
know
and
you
could
do
any
kind.
You
could
do
a
wood
duck
house
or
a
barred
owl.
If
you
wanted
to
do
something
real
big
but
like.
That
is
something
that
I
think
sure.
A
E
A
That
would
take
a
little
I
mean
it
does
take
a
little
maintenance,
but
it's
minimal
as
far
as
like
cleaning
them
out
after
the
seasons,
but
yeah
I
wanted
got
off
topic,
and
now
here
we
are,
but
did
want
to
mention
that
I
just
think
things
like.
That
is
why
we
are
doing
what
we're
doing.
A
You
know,
that's
a
so.
If
you
talk
to
people
and
that
we're
good
ideas,
the
Bettors.
A
Okay,
upcoming
Projects
New
West
State
Street
restroom
facilities,
so
it
looks
like
the
third
bid
begin,
starting
here
in
a
couple
days
for
the
advertising
and
then
the
bid
opening
May,
22nd,
tennis
and
pickleball.
The
asphalt
work
began
and
now
getting
quotes
on
earth
work
and
asphalt,
tennis
courts,
so
the
survey
staking
will
occur
soon
in
order
to
get
a
accurate
estimate
for
the
earthwork.
B
A
C
B
H
S
are
the
old
tennis,
courts,
Beyond,
Beyond
repair
and
the
condition
they're
in
presently.
H
B
To
do
no,
the
old,
the
tennis
court
project
and
pickleball
project
is
not
in
that
location,
so
they
so
at
our
last
meeting,
councilman
Swank
brought
up
that
Chris
schmiel
had
approached
him
that
you
know.
Would
that
be
a
way
to
consider
use
of
that
to
expand
the
farmer's
market
back
that
way.
Okay,
yeah.
B
A
B
G
A
Cool
thing
about
down
there,
too,
is
that
as
someone
who
used
to
get
around
on
a
bike
pretty
much
all
the
time,
it's
amazing
how
the
difference
is
there
versus
where
it
was
because
you
had
to
cross
East
State
Street.
C
A
There
was
no
real
good
way
like
you
go
through
Lowe's
parking
lot
or
you
go.
You
know
you're,
inevitably
going
through
parking
lots
crossing
a
busy
Street.
Now
it's
right
there,
it's
easy
access,
I
mean
it's
sound.
I
haven't
been
down
there
to
see
it,
but
it
sounds
like
there's,
possibly
more
student
interaction
down
there
or
the
or
the
potential
for
more
just.
A
E
Not
any
that
might
be
something
to
look
into
as
well
would
be
bike
parking.
I
know
they
have.
They
have
the
the
new
like
primary
color
ones
by
close
to
where
the
pool
is
but
I'm
not
I'm,
not
really
familiar
with,
and
then
there's
a
set
close
to
the
right
at
the
entrance
of
the
center
itself.
But
why
not
have
something
on
that
far
side
when
you're
coming
off
the
bike
path
there
past
that
little
garden
and
past.
A
A
A
Really
what
we
have
left
is
this
update
on
Camp
Rotan
and
sales,
Park
repairs,
the
trails
and.
A
A
B
D
I've
got
a
bit
of
an
update
as
well
in
terms
of
programming,
a
new
sport,
so
two
things.
D
First
off
and
Catherine
Anne
met
with
herself
and
a
couple
of
other
faculty
in
our
department
and
we're
trying
to
create
a
potential
programming
for
for
youth,
sport,
multi-sport
or
specific
Sports,
and
be
able
to
utilize
student
coaches
to
go
in
with
Recreation
Majors,
all
sorts
of
to
create
Recreation,
programming
and
and
Link
that
partnership
with
the
recreation
Center
to
be
able
to
kind
of
facility
and
youth
sport
and
and
youth
programming
in
that
environment,
which
is
something
that
we're
going
to
look
for
next
academic
year,
and
so
that
should
be
hopefully
and
something
that
we
can
maybe
Implement
and
create
more
programming
for
the
community
and
get
more
kids
in
sports.
D
D
Here
we
go
to
Ohio
University,
so
we
have
potential
students
that
could
do
that
and
get
paid
or
voluntary
work,
which
is
awesome
and
but
also,
we
understand,
there's
a
there's,
a
huge
need
for
parent
Volunteers
in
these
youth
programs.
So
that
leads
me
to
the
second
Point.
What
myself
and
another
faculty
member
are
doing.
We
are
in
the
process
of
applying
for
a
grant
and
I.
D
So
that's
something
that
we're
hoping
to
also
do
in
next
academic
year
and
create
these
bespoke
coaching
education.
Videos
that'll
get
put
out
to
anybody
that
signs
up
as
a
coach
in
these
youth
programs,
and
then
we
can
do
some
research
off
the
back
of
that.
D
But
the
hope
is
that
we
try
to
create
a
better
youth
programming
environment
for
one,
the
kids
that
participate,
which
is
the
most
important
thing
and
then
secondly,
the
coaches
that
are
coaching
and
maybe
done
have
education
behind
themselves
that
they
can
get
a
free
resource
to
be
able
to
get
some
best
practices,
do's
and
don'ts
type
of
things.
So
that's
something
that's
in
the
pipeline
and
coming
into
the
next
year,
if
you
cross
that
we
get
the
funding
which
I'm
hopeful
that
we
will
achieve
by
Monday
yeah.
A
D
Exciting
so
yeah
we
had
a
good
meeting
with
Catherine
Anne
and
highlighted
that
we
want
to
try
and
help
the
local
community
and
and
now
look
on
this
and
it's
it's
kind
of
sad
to
see
that
there's
only
one
new
sport
program,
that's
running
right
now,
which
is
your
soccer.
When
you
think
baseball
softball,
which
we
mentioned
a
few
months
ago,
the
mayor
here
there's
opportunity
potentially
to
get
other
youth,
sport,
programs
and
I'm
sure
there's
a
need
for
it
in
the
local
community,
and
we've
talked
about
nearly
as
a
stepping
stone.
D
So
we
have
like
an
introductory
kind
of
like
from
six
to
ten
year
olds,
come
in
and
try
different
sports
that
will
then
set
them
up
for
these
more
kind
of
like
Recreation,
Club
teams
or
Recreation
sport
organizations
to
help
them
bridge
the
gap
and
give
them
that
introductory
experience
to
say,
hey
I
want
to
play
baseball
I
want
to
play.
Softball
I
want
to
play
football
fun
football
or
soccer
and
give
them
the
opportunity
with
a
hopefully
an
amazing
experience
to
move
into
future
sporting
programs
run
around
the
city.
E
I
would
absolutely
love
to
see
more
like
week-long
clinics,
where
the
the
time
and
financial
investment
is
not
joining
an
entire
for
an
entire
season.
Only
to
find
out
that
it's
not
a
good
fit
or
might
sound
a
little
bit
like
small
micro
clinics
would
be
so
amazing.
The
three
even
it's
not
a
whole
week
right,
like
just
a
four
week,
every
Monday
or.
D
Yeah
we
talked
about,
maybe
that
it
would
be
each
week
that
kids
will
come
in
and
maybe
experience
a
different
spot
yeah
per
session,
or
we
can
have
like
a
station
type
thing
where
they
go
and
spend
10
15
minutes
at
each
sporting
station.
D
The
logistics
are
there
for
us
to
Fathom
out,
but
I
think
that's
a
really
good,
introductory
kind
of
program
for
kids
that
might
never
have
played
sport
before
or
want
to
get
a
good
experience
before
deciding
that
I'm
I'm,
actually
good
at
softball
and
I'd
like
to
go
so
I'm
really
good
at
flight
football
I
want
to
go
to
the
next
thing,
and-
and
hopefully
my
aim
is
that
the
rec
center,
with
our
help
and
with
parent
volunteer,
held
that
we've
got
opportunities
to
have
like
introductory
sessions
and
then
these
more
intermediate
programs
to
have
like
stepping
stones
as
you
go
through
in
the
Youth
Level,
from
kind
of
like
six
to
12,
13
years
old,.
A
Great
I
think
also,
you
know
what
you
mentioned.
Getting
students
potentially
involved
in
coaching
I
can
remember
that
as
something
that
happened
occasionally
and
I.
Just
think
that
that's
a
good
all-around,
you
know
get
some
in
the
community.
They
have
good
knowledge
to
pass
on
to
the
kids,
and
sometimes
you
know,
that's
easier
absorbed
by
the
kids
than
their
parents.
Trying
to.
C
D
Yeah,
that's
the
hope,
and
one
of
the
reasons
why
I
wanted
to
join
this
Advisory
Board
to
give
back
to
the
community
and
use
our
students
on
campus
to
really
help
the
community
out
and
then
I
would
roll
on.
D
My
role
is
to
to
help
those
that
maybe
need
assistance
and
because
they're,
just
a
volunteer
and
I,
think
it's
an
important
part
of
your
sport
programming
in
the
community
and
Recreation
settings
that
we
try
to
make
the
best
experience
possible
for
kids
and
unfortunately,
we've
got
uneducated
coaches
around
the
country
that
are
a
coaching
youth
sport
and
doing
it.
Oh
that's
how
I
was
coached
20
30
years
ago
and
society's
changed
as
we
all
can
see
so
utilizing
that
kind
of
education
structure
and
show
your
casing.
D
These
are
some
of
the
best
practices
for
kids
and
to
get
high
motivation,
High
enjoyment
and
as
opposed
to
and
the
typical
thing
that
I
utilize
is
basketball
and
late
ones,
and
you
get
one
rep
at
five
minutes.
You
know
so
trying
things
where
we
can
get
some
best
practice
out
there,
which
gives
more
ex
experience
for
the
kids
to
enjoy
that
which
will
get
them
more
invested
in
more
Sport
and
want
to
be
physically
active.
And
then
hopefully
they
can
start
progressing
through
through
the
programming
that
week
and
hopefully
help
Catherine
them
with.
C
E
E
E
But
still
worth
noting
right
as
we
start
to
advertise
the
the
math,
the
new
master
plan.
