From YouTube: Athens Shade Tree Commission Meeting 11-01-07
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
B
But
we
have
looked
at
14
to
Lane,
where
a
resident
there
has
asked
for
a
removal
of
a
pretty
dead,
crabapple
I
stacked
up
a
pile
of
dead
limbs
over
by
the
side
of
it,
she's
right
it
was
dropping
limbs
and
to
have
a
red
maple
or
an
oak
planted
there,
and
so,
if
this
is
a
sight
that
others
may
not
have
had
a
chance
to
look
at,
but
I
think
Ron
and
Ann
hand
and
the
possibility
of
a
swamp
white
oak
is
something
that
Ann
suggested
in
the
site.
It's
close
to
her
office.
C
B
B
E
D
C
C
E
B
B
You
looked
at
that
crabapple.
Didn't
you
yeah,
it's
thank
you!
Okay,
and
there
is
another
request
tree
permit
request
for
a
removal,
and
that
is
behind
actually
right
off
behind
this
building
and
also
behind
the
Athens
in
this
building
me
it's
from
people
in
the
Athens
news
building
who
are
requesting
to
remove
a
tree.
E
C
E
B
E
I
mean
I
thought
was
structurally
sound
and
that's
of
course,
the
the
biggest
issue
and
and
you're
right
I
mean
it's.
It's
considered
an
undesired
species,
but
removing
the
tree
is
gonna
open
that
site
up
to
all
kinds
of
issues.
Cuz.
It's
kind
of
a
old
property
line,
I
think
and
the
grade
is
different
above.
E
E
E
E
B
A
A
B
See
there
was
another
well,
actually,
those
are
the
only
two
serious
tree
permits.
There
was
another
one
that
was
for
trees,
not
on
the
right-of-way.
You
don't
have
to
deal
with
them.
We
have
the
order
in
five
Springs
farm.
This
is
the
the
twelfth
trees
that
are
going
to
be
planted,
I
think
everybody's,
maybe
seamless
in
their
email,
and
they
are
largely
residential.
There
is.
There
are
three
hackberries
going
in
at
the
South
border
of
the
parking
lot
at
west
arts
and
that's
the
only
non.
B
B
Of
the
area
where
they're
doing
ramps
for
handicapped
entry
I
think
that's
all
up
against
the
building,
so
this
is
these
are
safely
out
of
that
way,
and
we
have
hackberries
ordered
in
advance
to
make
sure
we
could
get
them,
and
this
is
a
very
tough
tree
for
a
really
tough
site.
Yeah,
so
it'll
be
an
interesting
one
too.
B
For
the
kids,
there
are
there's
one
site
they're
wrong
where
we
asked
that's
a
potential
planning
site
in
about
a
year,
so
maybe
if
transplant
doesn't
make
it,
but
it's
a
right-of-way
request
at
83
Maplewood
to
make
sure
the
flag
where
tree
might
be
planted
is
indeed
in
the
right-of-way
and
that
wasn't
an
email
communication
earlier.
Are
there
any
comments
on
the
nursery
order
that
you've?
B
This
is
a
nursery
order
that
totals
fifty
twenty
eight
fifty
and
we
have
about
four
thousand
some
dollars
in
our
budget,
so
we
can
plant
some
more
trees
and
it
be
who've
us
to
get
this
information
to
the
nursery
quickly.
If
we
have
sites,
it
does
mean
in
residential
areas,
letting
people
know
and
making
sure
that
they
want
something
like
that.
If
it
turns
out
to
be
virtually
and
they
think
it's
their
yard,
but
in
the
right
way
in.
A
B
B
E
B
B
The
next
item
is
the
maintenance
issue
weed
and
maybe
I
could
take
advantage
of
Ron
Lucas.
At
this
point,
our
City
arborist
Ron
was
instrumental
in
coordinating
with
Susan
Calhoun
of
Ohio
University
grounds.
Department
Susan
Calhoun
came
to
the
tree
Commission
with
some
concerns
about
half
a
dozen
or
more
trees
that
were
in
pedestrian
area
is
close
to
the
campus,
where
there
is
a
lot
of
pedestrian
traffic
and
our
city
trees,
and
then
there
were
even
some
questions
about
a
couple
of
trees,
which
is
whose
they
were
because
they
were
in
ambiguous
situations.
H
Yeah
Albee
just
reiterating
what
she
said
about
our
tree
review,
with
some
of
the
things
that
Susan
Calhoun
wanted
us
to
look
at.
We
came
up
with
a
number
of
trees
that
are
in
the
city
right
away
and
also
a
plan
to
trim
some
trees
that
are
gonna,
be
taken
care
of
by
Susan,
so
those
are
ones
that
are
in
predominantly
university
proper,
such
as
a
college
street.
H
It's
someone
the
corner
of
Court
Street
in
Park
Place,
the
ones
that
we
decided
to
take
an
action
on
we're
at
West
mulberry
by
the
new
Baker
Center,
there's
a
silver
maple.
It
needs
to
be
removed,
it's
really
it's
really
healthy,
but
it's
it's
got
a
crack
in
it
and
it's
leaning
over
a
few
parking
spaces
and
there's
concern
that
it
could
fall
University
Terrace
by
the.
What
is
the
fiscal
church.
B
H
There's
two
sugar
maples,
there's
a
small
one
that
the
city
can
remove
and
the
larger
one
can
be
trimmed
and
the
city
can
take
care
of
that
and
also
dairy
Lane
South
Park
Drive,
two
sugar
maples
out
there
right
away
check
they're,
both
in
the
city
right
away
and
they
both
can
be
removed
at
the
contract.
There's
one
down
there.
H
D
B
E
D
E
B
And
came
with
us,
we
did
this
in
two
stages.
Susan
took
me
around
to
see
the
sites
where
the
trees
were
in
question
and
then
Robin
and
I
went
out.
Yes,
it
was
only
yesterday
and
looked
at
the
trees
again
and
the
cracked
one
hadn't
really
been
noticed
on
the
first
time
around
when
Susan
and
I
saw
it,
there
was
a
whole
lot
more
vegetation
around
it.
You
couldn't
get
closer
one.
We
could
have
time.
B
So
this
is,
we've
been
asking
for
assistance
on
sites
where
there
is
essentially
shared
responsibility
for
the
condition
of
a
tree
or
issues
about
pedestrian
traffic,
in
particular
more
than
that
and
the
university
does
have
crew
that
can
do
the
pruning
of
some
things
fairly
quickly
and
of
larger
trees.
So
this
is
so.
This
will
move
action
on
trees
and
those
kinds
of
traffic
areas
faster
running
great
and.
H
Starting
soon,
meaning,
probably
in
the
next
week
or
so
we're
gonna
take
on
a
bunch
of
the
in-house
stuff
that
we
can
do
and
I
collaborated
all
the
emails
that,
if
I've
seen
from
transmission
members
and
some
city
staff
and
just
put
them
in
one
place
and
I,
won't
go
over
the
trimmings
much.
But
the
removals
are
37.
South
may
there's
a
silver
maple
that
we
can
do
in
house.
H
67
Columbus
Road,
the
ash
I
haven't
been
up
there
this
week,
but
I
did
notice.
The
last
I
saw
it
didn't,
have
a
blue
mark
on
it
from
a
EP
to
remove
it
Lloyd
by
the
east.
Elementary
there's
a
dead
tree.
We
can
remove
that
maple
wooden
wat
tree
removal.
That's
getting
contracted
out
nine
North
Congress
a
dead
zelkova.
We
can
do
that.
Ten
cost
silver
maple,
that's
gonna,
be
a
that's
a
big
tree,
yeah.
H
H
22
South
may
and
Bradford
pear
needs,
trimmed
or
removed.
I
think
we'll
trim
on
it
a
little
bit
to
keep
an
eye
on
it
to
vallivue.
There's
a
couple
tree
removals
on
Valley
View.
It's
a
small
street
right
off
of
Fort,
threatening
a
home,
possibly
who
treats
Moeller
and
Mulligan
there's
an
ash
tree.
It
fell
down
in
the
storm
event
a
couple
weeks
ago.
H
We
removed
a
lot
of
it
that
was
fallen,
but
there's
one
one
piece
left
and
it's
probably
gonna
fall,
so
we're
gonna
have
to
probably
contract
that
one
out,
14th
Elaine
dine,
crabapple
wood
spoke
of
and
that's
it
as
far
as
the
removals
are
concerned,
we're
gonna
try
to
get
some
of
them
contracted
out
this
year
and
take
care
of
a
lot
of
them
on
here.
The
trimming
portion
there's
about
20
or
so
trees
sites
in
here
that
we
didn't
need
to
do
some
trimming
on.
H
C
H
H
B
H
B
B
E
B
B
Detailed
need
it
be,
probably
I,
don't
think
we
need
to
have
this
much
detail
in
a
minute.
Okay,
I'll.
B
C
C
C
B
I
I
The
last
meeting
the
tree
Commission
I,
provided
you
with
three
letters
sent
by
different
departments
of
the
city
related
to
the
Bennigan's
site
that
had
to
do
with
sediment
erosion,
control,
stormwater
control,
zoning
landscaping
and
that
letter
was
issued.
September
18th
I
noticed
that
they
have
put
up
some
sediment
and
erosion
control
fencing
to
keep
the
water
from
running
off
the
parking
lot
and
seeded
and
straw
it
in
the
bank.
I
So
hopefully
that
grass
will
take,
but
they've
not
done
any
of
the
other
things
they
were
requested
in
the
letter,
I've
not
yet
received
a
plan
for
the
new
striping
on
the
parking
lot
or
any
indication
of
parking
blocks,
because
that
could
help
in
some
respect
to
keep
that
water
from
running
down
the
face
of
the
elevated
site
and
I
drew
by
the
other
day
and
I
mentioned
al.
You
might
want
to
stop
by
and
look
I
couldn't
tell
exactly
what
was
going
on
there
in
the
parking
lot
they've
taken
some
landscape
timbers.
I
I
So
what
will
be
going
out
next
to
our
SB
Enterprises
Point,
Pleasant,
West
Virginia
will
be
in
order
to
comply
because
I'm
an
additional
15
days
to
complete
the
work
or
give
a
reason
why,
if
it's
not
completed
in
that
amount
of
time,
then
all
this
information
gets
forwarded
to
the
law
director's
office
and
then
they
decide
how
to
proceed
from
there.
What.
I
I
I
A
B
I
I'll
tell
you
what
may
have
happened
on
that
and
it
may
not
be
the
landscapers
fault
entirely.
At
the
last
meeting,
you'd
asked
me
to
do
a
little
bit
of
clerical
work
and
get
some
information
to
Jack
Alvis
about
what
was
considered
at
the
last
meeting.
Jack
and
I
talked
about
it.
I
gave
him
all
the
information,
and
then
you
we
have
a
letter
there
that
I
wrote
today
just
to
memorialize.
Our
conversation.
I
may
not
have
done
a
letter
in
writing.
I
I
D
B
I
So
that
was
a
project
proved
by
council
several
months
ago.
There's
some
additional
I
know
there's
at
least
one
other
tower
installations
behind
the
code
enforcement
office.
But
it's
right
in
the
middle
of
a
big
piece
of
asphalt,
so
the
everybody
in
the
city
is
aware
of
that
deciding
and
for
that
communications
tower
up
at
Highland
and
I
even
talked
to
Ron
Lucas
about
it
the
other
day,
and
we
had
he
had
discussion
with
the
service
safety
director
because
we
knew
there'd
be
some
question
when
the
area
had
to
be
cleared.
C
D
A
I
B
I
I
B
I
B
G
I
B
This
is
an
opportunity
to
get
some
treats
in
place
and
I
think
we
can
just
ask
for
this
to
be
consistent
with
what
we
require
private
cell
phone
towers,
and
we
do
indeed
have
some
leftover
money
in
our
own
budget
that
we
could
contribute
to
the
planning
of
the
trees.
So
this
could
be
an
opportunity
to
use
pre
planning
money
for
a
site
that
really,
as
part
of
a
park.
G
I
B
B
I
Not
really
sure
they've,
they
have
boring
rigs.
They've
had
boring
rigs
in
temp
the
last
couple
days.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
they
were
doing
soil
borings
behind
my
office
when
I
left
this
evening.
For
that
tower,
so
construction
is
imminent.
Will
it
be
done
by
the
end
of
the
year
that
I
couldn't
tell
you
for
sure
I'm.
B
I
I
have
I,
haven't
gone
downstairs
to
look
through
your
files,
but
I
to
see
if
it
was
approved.
But
if
you
recall
a
while
back
Michael
Fletcher
who's,
the
pastor
at
Central,
Central,
Avenue,
Methodist
Church
had
asked
to
have
it.
Could
he
remove
a
tree?
Oh,
that
was
in
the
grass
strip
between
the
sidewalk
and
the
curb
on
central.
I
E
B
D
B
B
B
B
B
I
D
I
A
I
F
I
B
I
Part
of
this
record
that
I
have
right
here
that
if
we
don't
have
compliance,
I
will
forward
to
the
law
director's
office.
There
is
the
original
letter
from
the
shade
tree
Commission
that
required
to
planting
islands
of
I.
Think
it
was
a
sour
call,
was
724
square
feet,
total
into
planning
islands
with
two
trees
in
each
Island.
So
that's
that's.
F
F
B
I
Know
a
lot
of
times,
it's
really
much
easier
with
everything
that
City
Department
people
have
to
view
when
we're
dealing
with
the
public
voluntary
cooperation
is
great.
It
really
saves
a
lot
of
time
and
energy
when
you
have
to
pursue
these
things
to
the
point
of
prosecution
it
just
you
know,
it's
really
not
the
way
things
out
of
half
about
on
occasion.
It
does
go
that
direction.
That's
where
this
file
so
decorating,
I.
A
E
D
B
I
D
I
B
B
C
Morning
we
made
with
a
Jericho
mist
their
comments,
they've
already
been
made
aware
of,
and
they
were
in
fact
in
one
of
the
organizations
that
came
to
us
first
with
concerns
about
the
current
ordinance
and
the
way
it
affects
belief,
Li,
smaller
properties
and
in
regard
to
what
you
were
just
talking
about
in
terms
of
what
happens
afterwards,
it's
just
occurred
to
me.
In
fact,
this
ordinance
might
actually
be
easier
to
check
on
the
influence
and
boozers.
C
Basically,
you
just
add
up
the
number
of
trees
and
divide
it
and
look
at
me
with
the
property,
and
that
tells
you
whether
they're
in
compliance
or
not,
so
he
could
actually
be
a
lot
simpler.
Yes
from
that
aspect,
I
hadn't
thought
about,
but
the
concerns
that
the
law
directly
brought
up
I
think
we
dealt
with
quite
simply
there
wasn't.
He
thought
those
in
need
to
some
definitions
and
in
fact
he
and
you
might
never
help
us
find
these.
We
want
to
find
permeable
or
impermeable
or
both
in
the
context
of
trees.
C
H
I
C
G
G
D
G
D
I
The
court
is
instructed
that,
each
day
where
you
seek
a
penalty,
you
have
to
file
each
and
every
day
so
example
it
the
every
week
you
can't
file
and
say
seven
days
have
gone
by.
You
know
we
want
seven
days
where
the
penalty
right
now
the
court
makes
the
city
file
every
day.
If
you
want
a
penalty
for
every
day,
you
have
to
file
for
every
day
and
that's
a
you
know,
that's
a
procedure.
It's
kind
of
judicial
in
nature
and.
C
B
I
If
that
being
the
case,
then,
if
that
could
work
for
the
landscape
ordinance,
it
could
work
for
just
about
every
other
ordinance
to
and
what
would
save
me
a
lot
of
potential
filing,
for
example
like
finally
to
make
him
up
with
a
tenant
landlord
compliance
form.
You
know
I
might
have
to
file
four
hundred
pieces
of
paper
every
day
if
we
go
after
every
day,
so
yeah
it'll
be
great
if
it'll
work
for
that
it'll
work
for
a
lot
of
other
things,
so
Claude
records
man
to
talk
to
yeah.
E
Yeah
I
just
update,
they
did
find
emerald
ash
borer
in
West
Virginia
Fayette
County
New,
River
Gorge.
Oh
wow
jumped
a
little.

Greg
Brothers
my
gravel
Avenue
I
just
wanted
to
in
relation
to
the
actually
its
new
business
old
business.
It
has
to
do
with
the
the
updating
of
the
of
the
landscape
ordinance
and
how
that
applies
to
private
ownership
as
well,
and
what
I,
what
I
would
like
to
see
is
in
in
the
land
in
the
landscape
ordinance
between
these
specific
references
to
as
far
as
speciation
goes
to
invasives
and
what?
What
what
trees
our
site
specifically
acceptable.
You
know
I'm
saying
we.

I
That
was
part
of
my
testimony
before
council.
The
other
night
was
they
wanted
to
know
what
my
office
determined
was
a
noxious
wheat
and
we
said
well.
Normally
we
don't
go
for
that.
We
look
at
the
rest
of
the
code
that
talks
about
vegetable,
litter
and
other
vegetation,
and
there
is
no
definition
for
noxious
weed
in
that
section.

I
I
A
Green
is
good
with
the
number
of
plants
that
you
can
eat
is
is
greatly
outnumbers,
the
edible
plants,
in
fact
they're,
so
I,
don't
wanna
launch
into
my
excellent
lecture,
but
but
so
that,
so
that,
just
because
something
will
make
you
sick,
it
does
not
mean
that
it
is
noxious
because
that's
kind
of
a
native
condition
of
the
majority
of
plants,
that's
their
defense
about
being
browsed,
and
you
know
because
they
can't
move
away,
they
have
to
say
they
have
chemical
defenses.
So
it's
just
when
a
small
about
does
a
lot
of
damage.
I
A
couple
years
ago,
if
you
could
help-
and
maybe
even
forward
some
information
to
city
council
to
help,
because
what
I
promised
them
that
I'll
do
is
to
go
out
and
research
ordinances
related
to
front
yard
gardening,
and
there
are
quite
a
few
because,
as
the
Ganges
you'd
mentioned,
there's
just
a
trend
toward
that
kind
of
kind
of
a
thing.
A
lot
of
people
here
have
shaded
backyards.
I
They
can't
have
a
garden
in
the
backyard,
so
they
do
want
to
come
out
in
the
front,
so
I'm
going
to
find
some
examples
of
ordinances
and
give
those
to
City
Council
so
that
they
may
be
included
in
the
landscape,
ordinance
or
the
zoning
code
or
whatever.
As
you
mentioned
to
the
trend,
is
not
to
over-regulate.
I
B

I
G
G
Too,
these
programs
have
actually
successful
and
they're
adapting
the
the
certification
models
into
their
ordinances.
Also,
when
we
were
the
treat
southeastern
allowed
tree
conference
a
few
weeks
ago,
numbers
there,
there
was
a
presentation
by
their
name,
Pam
or
penny
from
it,
makes
County
about
rain
gardens.
Yes,.
