A
Good
afternoon
and
welcome
once
again
to
the
mayor's
weekly
press
conference,
I
am
back
after
being
gone
for
a
week,
give
or
take
it's
really
good
to
be
back
again.
For
those
of
you
who
don't
know,
I
was
over
in
Europe
both
for
business
and
for
a
little
bit
of
a
respite
to
get
away
with
my
wife
and
kids
and
I
have
to
tell
you
one
of
the
things
that
was
really
fascinating
upon
returning
as
I
was
driving
up
town
coming
to
work.
This
morning,
I
was
looking
around
I
was
thinking
myself.
A
A
A
The
work
that
I
did
when
I
was
away
was
really
important
as
well
when
I
was
meeting
with
a
lot
of
businesses
that
are
interested
in
possibly
coming
to
the
United
States
and
possibly
into
the
state
of
Ohio,
and
who
knows,
maybe
even
into
the
city
of
Athens
and
making
a
presence
here.
So
a
lot
of
work
that
went
that
went
on,
but
also
a
lot
of
a
really
interesting
perspective
on
things.
For
me,
as
I
came
back
that
all
said,
my
weather
reporter,
who
is
here
today,
take
it
away.
B
So
today's
gonna
be
rain
high
of
63
degrees
in
the
low
of
59
chance
of
rain
90%.
Tomorrow
rain
high
of
66
love,
29,
chance
of
rain
100%
Friday,
partly
cloudy
skies
high
of
47
12:27
Saturday,
mostly
sunny
skies
high
of
52
12:26
sunday,
partly
cloudy
skies
high
47
low
of
27
and
monday,
mostly
sunny
skies
high
57
low
35.
So.
A
B
B
B
A
Old
Tucson
is
interesting.
You
know
he
was
a
film
set
for
things
back
in
the
day.
You
know
I,
don't
I,
don't
know
what
it's
like
anymore,
but
it's
interesting
to
check
out,
but
two
sons,
two
sons
of
fun
place.
It's
a
big
city,
Columbus
know,
but
it's
a
big
city,
big
city,
home
to
University
of
Arizona
and
a
mountain
which
is
another
interesting
feature.
B
A
Alright,
thanks
Kyle
as
usual,
just
some
updates
on
city
projects
when
it
comes
to
engineering
of
Public
Works,
the
cable
Lane
project,
which
has
been
closed
to
traffic
from
18
Cable
Lane
up
to
38,
cable
Lane,
that
project
for
in
banquet
and
road
repairs.
That's
still
under
way.
It's
supposed
to
be
done
by
today,
but
I
think
that
there's
still
a
lot
of
work
yet
to
be
done.
So
just
keep
that
in
mind
that
there
is
travel
restrictions
along
cable
Lane,
in
particular
between
eighteen
and
thirty,
eight
cable
lanes.
A
A
is
to
reduce
you'll,
be
reduced
down
to
one
lane
from
the
29th
through
the
first
for
electric
line.
Work
with
a
EP,
so
EP
is
going
to
be
in
the
area,
so
just
keep
that
in
mind.
There'll
be
signal.
Flaggers
traffic
flaggers.
There
that'll
help
you
through
that
area.
If
that's
where
you
need
to
be
the
2020
Alvin's
poet,
laureate,
project,
prospectus
and
selection
criteria,
we
are
once
again
that
time
to
be
looking
for
a
new
poet
laureate,
Kerri
Gunther
Seymour
is
our
current
poet
laureate.
A
She
is
completing
her
second
year
kind
of
as
an
overview.
The
honorary
two-year
position
of
poet
laureate
is
given
to
a
poet
who
expresses
and
celebrates
Athens
unique
people
and
places
the
poet
laureate
is
an
advocate
for
the
Arts
and
fosters
a
love
of
poetry
and
literature
among
the
diversity
of
all
residents.
The
city
of
Athens
has
allocated
$2,000
per
year
for
the
appointment
of
the
poet
laureate,
submission
deadlines.
So
this
is
important
for
those
of
you
who
are
poets,
that
all
submissions
must
be
emailed
no
later
than
December,
2nd
2019
by
5:00
p.m.
A
to
the
Athens
Municipal
Arts
Commission,
and
they
can
be
sent
emailed
onto
a
Mac.
That's
AMAC
at
CI,
Athens,
dot,
o
H
said.
Oh,
you
owe
a
chess
again:
it's
a
Mac
am
AC
at
CI,
Athens
dot,
o
H
dot.
U
s!
If
you
want
to
apply
for
that
prestigious
position,
our
current
poet
laureate,
like
I,
said
carry
Gunther
Seymour
as
I
understand.
A
It
was
one
of
the
finalists
for
the
Ohio
poet
laureate,
so
our
own,
dear
poet,
laureate
may
be
in
the
running
for
the
state,
poet,
laureate
and
I
have
to
follow
up
with
her
to
see
where
that
wall
that
stands,
there
will
be
a
public
hearing
for
short-term
rentals.
This
is
something
that
the
Planning
Commission
has
requested,
that
there
be
a
public
hearing,
that
public
hearing
will
be
Tuesday
November
19th
at
6:30
p.m.
in
activity
rooms
a
and
B
at
the
community
center
on
East,
8th
Street.
A
So
the
hearing
is
to
consider
the
request
for
the
City
Ethne
City
Council,
to
amend
the
zoning
code
to
include
short-term
rentals
in
residential
zones,
so
we're
really
reaching
out
and
asking
for
people
who
have
an
opinion
whether
for
or
against
having
this
go
through
or
just
interested
parties
and
coming
up
and
listening.
So
please
come
out
to
that
event
again.
That
is
going
to
be
November
19th
6:30
p.m.
at
the
community
center
shifting
gears
back
a
little
bit
to
the
afternoon
arts
classes
for
kids.
A
A
The
the
link
below
is
for
October
28th
through
December
19th
registration,
so
that
link
being
a
beverage-
and
that
is
spelled
E,
is
in
Emily,
be
e
ve,
our
I
d--
g
e
@
c.
I
thought
a
theme
so
h
us
if
you're
interested
or
you
can
call
Emily
at
seven
four
zero.
Five,
nine
two
four
three
one:
five:
to
get
more
information
on,
registering
your
children.
For
that
event,
October
31st,
the
Halloween
game
night
party
like
amongst
our
come
out
and
join
us
7:00
p.m.
A
A
Well,
I
say
that
as
I
understand
it
I
was
in
here,
but
as
I
understand,
it
was
a
rather
wet
one
again,
which
may
have
put
a
little
bit
of
a
damper
on
those
who
were
out
celebrating.
But
the
party
went
from
1
p.m.
all
the
way
through
11
p.m.
that
things
were
pretty
much
wrapped
up
by
11:25
p.m.
as
I
understand
it.
Hundred
for
the
heart
parade
was
again
a
huge
success.
I
had
not
missed
one
to
share
this
with
you.
This
is
the
first
one.
A
Couple
last
things
I
want
to
share.
I
mentioned
this:
the
City
Council
Scott,
if
you
can
kind
of
zoom
in
on
that
for
us
I,
will
try
to
hold
it
as
steady
as
possible,
but
we
were
recognized
under
the
America
and
Blom
as
being
a
vibrant
community.
There
you
go,
and
this
was
recognition
for
American
bloom
this
year
when
they
judged
us
for
the
2019.
A
Judging
where
they
assessed
the
city
and
the
city
last
year
ended
up
getting
six
out
of
ten
stars.
This
year
we
got
eight
out
of
ten
stars,
so
we
improved
ourselves
one
category
we,
where
we
exceeded
and
did
very
well,
is
this
particular
category
which,
like
I
said,
was
we're
being
recognized
for
community
vitality
in
the
city,
and
the
last
thing
I
want
to
share
with
anyone.
Who's
watching
today
is
part
of
my
trip.
A
A
A
lot
of
them
were
our
local
businesses,
but
learning
what
different
businesses
needs
and
wants
are,
in
terms
of
you
know,
municipal
infrastructure
or
other
assets
that
might
be
important
to
them
for
them
to
come
and
look
at
asin's
to
see
if
we
would
be
an
appropriate
place
for
them
to
possibly
start
to
develop
businesses
here,
as
well
as
some
our
own
local
businesses
and
helping
them
to
network
with
other
resources
that
they
may
need.
So
it
was
a
really
informative
process
for
me
to
go
through.
A
It
was
quite
the
honor
to
to
make
it
through
and
graduate
the
lieutenant
governor
of
the
state
of
Ohio
was
over
there
Lieutenant
Governor
John
Husted.
He
was
the
one
who
ended
up
giving
me
the
Diploma,
but
had
a
large
delegation
from
the
state
of
Ohio
who
was
over
there
recognizing
our
need
to
diversify
our
economies
statewide,
and
for
me
it
was
knowing
that
we
didn't
really
need
to
diversify
our
own
local
economy.
So
I
think
it
was
win-win
all
in
all
at
the
end,
the
day,
but
again
it's
so
good
to
be
back
home.
A
That
all
said
Kyle
as
usual.
Thank
you.
I
love
having
you
on
this
show,
and
hopefully
you
will
continue
to
be
an
integral
part
of
the
mayor's
weekly
press
conference.
Good
good
to
hear
it
have
a
safe
travels,
enjoy
your
trip
to
Tucson
Arizona
and
thank
you
all
for
tuning
in
I.
Do
have
someone
in
the
audience.
Do
you
want
to
be
alive
on
air
to
ask
some.
