Description
Mayor's Press Conference January 16, 2020
A
Good
afternoon
welcome
once
again
to
the
mayor's
weekly
press
conference.
You
know:
I
was
just
out
attending
a
luncheon
at
Margaret
Walter
Hall
at
Ohio
University
and
walked
down
there
and
walked
back.
You
know,
I
have
to
say
it's.
It's
brisk
out
there.
It's
good,
it's
good
to
finally
feel
like
we're
in
winter,
as
opposed
to
in
spring
or
summer
last
weekend.
But
here
with
me
today,
as
usual,
which
is
great,
is
our
honorary
meteorologist
Kyle
Kyle.
Take
it
away.
B
So
today
it's
gonna
be
probably
cloudy
skies
high
41
degrees,
low
of
21
tomorrow,
mostly
cloudy
skies
high
of
36
love,
28,
Saturday,
rainy
conditions,
high
of
49
love,
18
Sunday,
partly
cloudy
skies
high
of
25
low
15
Monday,
mostly
cloudy
skies
high
of
29
12
16
Tuesday,
probably
cause
skies
high
33
above
18,
and
next
Wednesday,
mostly
sunny
skies
high
41
love
22.
All.
A
Right
there,
you
have
it
exciting
weekend
last
weekend,
actually
Monday
right,
yeah
yeah
with
the
national
championship,
and
we
had
Jill
Burrell
here
for
anyone
who
was
watching
counsel,
Joe
burrow
is
standing
behind
me
throughout.
He
was
very
patient
and
I
told
Council
that
that
we
had
to
be
done
by
8
o'clock
so
that
Joe
could
get
down
on
the
field
for
the
8
o'clock.
Kickoff
I.
C
Was
a
big
win?
25
any
games?
Oh
you
games
that
you
went
to
this
week
or
went
to
the
men's
game
on
Saturday
how
the
shorts
and
t-shirt
day
in
shorts
of
t-shirt,
77
degrees
Saturday.
It's
also
the
womans
again
this
weekend
home
at
one
o'clock.
That's
this
weekend,
yeah
and
who's,
that
against
both
state.
Ok,
Cardinals,
Allstate,.
A
Outstanding
outstanding,
you
are,
you
are
Rufus's
number
one
fan,
no
doubt
about
it.
You
know
this
weather
that
we've
been
having
is
just
so
so
interesting
and
it's
interesting
how
many
people
are
are
contracting,
the
flu
or
a
cold
or
just
whatever,
and
you
know
whether
it's
weather
related
I,
don't
know,
but
I
know
that
my
lovely
wife
is
at
home
she's,
not
feeling
well,
she
may
even
be
tuning
in
right
now
for
all
I
know
and
my
daughter
Oh
Delia,
who
I'm
hoping
is
watching.
A
She
also
has
got
some
strange
bug,
so
you
may
want
to
stay
away
from
me
a
little
bit
Kyle.
So
I
don't
give
you
anything
I'm,
actually
pretty
healthy
right
now,
but
you
never
know
I,
just
I
blame
it
all
on
the
weather
Dahlia.
It
was
all
because
of
the
weather,
honey
things
that
are
happening
around
the
city.
Let
me
start
with
you
know
this
weekend
is
Martin
Luther
King
MLK
is
Monday,
so
that
said,
the
city
building
will
be
closed.
A
There
will
be
several
closures
throughout
the
city,
but,
most
importantly,
just
remember
that
whenever
we
have
a
three-day
weekend
or
a
holiday
that
trash
and
recycling
gets
backed
up
so
next
week,
if
your
collection
is
typically
on
Monday
for
trash
and
recycling,
everything
will
be
pushed
to
Tuesday
and
so
on
and
so
forth.
For
everybody
across
the
city,
trash
gets
picked
up
and
recycling
on
Wednesdays,
but
I
won't
be
putting
things
out
until
Thursday.
So
keep
that
in
mind,
please
that
things
get
pushed
other
things.
A
The
this
is
going
to
be
an
interesting
meeting
on
January
23rd
from
6:00
to
8:00
p.m.
Ryan
has
just
popped
up
for
the
viewing
audience.
The
potential
and
I
have
to
state
this
again
potential
sites
for
the
farmers
market,
the
permanent
location
for
the
farmers
market.
What
you're,
looking
at
with
option
a.
A
Now
it's
the
market
on
East,
8th
Street,
which
is
their
home
now,
but
that
ordinance
that
was
put
in
place
was
again
to
make
sure
that
there
was
a
landing
pad
if
you
will
for
the
farmers
market.
So
this
meeting
that
I'm
referencing
again
will
be
January
23rd
from
6:00
to
8:00
p.m.
at
the
community
center
and
we're
asking
everyone
who's
interested
to
come
down.
A
It's
going
to
be
the
ace
net
and
the
city
having
a
community
forum
concerning
the
relocation
for
farmers
market,
so
it'll
likely
be
in
the
activity
rooms
the
bit
large
meeting
rooms
at
the
community
center.
So
please
stop
by
to
share
your
input
on
the
the
newer
idea
of
putting
it
by
the
solar
panels
or
putting
something
down
by
the
solar
panels
likely
in
the
area
or
the
vicinity
between
the
solar
panels
and
the
tennis
courts.
A
A
The
games
are
typically
played
during
the
evening
hours
or
on
Saturdays.
If
you're
interested
you
can
reach
out
to
community
center
at
five
nine
to
three
three
to
five
or
you
can
reach
out
to
Aaron
Helms.
Who
is
our
program
specialist
at
the
community
center
other
things
afternoon?
Art
classes
for
kids,
the
this
is
unit
2,
there's
it's
still
open,
it'll
be
open
through
January
24th
Monday
through
Thursday
January
6th
through
March
5th
are
the
afternoon
art
classes.
A
Let's
see
some
other
things
going
on,
arts
West
is
going
to
be
having
something
tonight.
It's
the
third
Thursday
square,
dance
social
in
jam.
So
if
you're
into
square
dancing
come
on
down,
that's
from
7:00
to
9:00
p.m.
it's
$6
suggested
admission
or
donation,
and
then
tomorrow,
tomorrow
evening,
from
8
to
10:45,
is
the
drum
and
music
jam
at
be
at
Arts
West,
so
again,
January
17th
Friday
night.
If
we
were
into
that,
I
need
to
dust
off
my
djembe
and
start
drumming
again
I
kind
of
miss
doing
that.
A
Not
that
I
was
any
good,
but
if
sure
it
was
fun
if
nothing
else
to
let
off
steam
and
beat
on
a
drum
so
again
come
check
that
out.
That's
a
$10
suggested
donation
to
be
a
part
of
the
drum
and
Music
Jam
at
arts
West
tomorrow
evening.
That's
all
we
have
for
today
kind
of
a
short
list
of
things,
but
please
stay
warm
and
please
tune
in
again
next
week
for
the
next
installment
of
the
mayor's
weekly
press
conference.
Take
care.
