Description
Mayor's Weekly Update - November 18, 2020
B
B
saturday
night,
cloudy
low
42
sunday,
cloudy
high
of
63
sunday
night
showers,
low
41
monday
morning,
showers,
high
of
49
monday
night,
probably
cloudy
low
29
tuesday,
partly
cloudy
high
of
48,
tuesday
nights
showers,
12
36
and
next
wednesday
morning.
Showers,
a
high
of
52
in
the
low
34
showers
late.
A
B
A
And
kyle,
are
you,
have
you
been
tracking
the
new
orders
coming
from
the
governor's
office.
B
A
Yeah
for
those
of
you
who
haven't
been
following
the
governor's
press
conferences,
you
know
to
kyle's
point:
there
is
a
a
curfew
starting
on
on
the
19th
and
it
will
run
for
21
days
that
curfew,
as
kyle
indicated,
is
from
10
pm
to
5
a.m.
A
And,
as
I
understand
it,
you
know
essential
services
will
still
be
open
for
those
businesses
that
are
open
beyond
those
hours
for
people
who
do
need
to
get
things,
but
again
just
trying
to
get
people
to
do
the
best
that
we
all
can
to
drive
down
the
numbers
that
we're
seeing
throughout
athens,
athens
county
in
the
state
and
across
the
nation.
Quite
honestly,
so
thanks
kyle
for
those
updates.
As
usual,
it's
always
great
having
you
on
kyle,
my
friend
stay
safe.
I
know
that
you
mask
up
everywhere.
A
You
go,
and
I
know
that
you,
like
myself,
were
disappointed
that
ohio
university
did
not
play
miami
the
other
day.
Last
night,
last
night,
hey
kyle
any
updates
on
other
sporting
events
in
the
future
ahead
of.
B
A
Very
good,
very
good,
so
something
to
look
forward
to.
Let's
hope.
Let's
hope
that
there
are
no
more
coveted
19
cases
among
the
football
team
or
among
anybody.
So
thanks
again
kyle.
I
appreciate
you
joining
as
you
usually
do
every
wednesday
or
whenever
we
have
the
weekly
update,
yep
other
things
going
on
around
the
city,
engineering
and
public
works
related.
We
do
have
a
boil
order.
That
is
in
effect,
it
will
be
in
effect
through
noon
tomorrow,
and
that
is
74
and
75
east
state
street
and
17
kern
street.
A
This
is
big
due
to
work.
That's
going
on
in
that
area,
so
again,
24-hour
boil
order
in
that
area.
Other
things
going
on
engineering
and
public
works
related
that
we
do
have
the
columbia
gas
project
is
still
underway.
It
will
be
south
congress
street
between
west
union
and
president
street.
That
work
is
expected
to
begin
today
and
be
completed
november.
20Th,
there's
flaggers
out
there,
as
is
typical,
directing
traffic
as
need
be
the
other
big
project
that's
going
on
is
the
pratt
street
closure
over
again
on
pratt.
A
That
is
today
will
be
wrapping
up
at
four
o'clock.
That's
a
sanitary
sewer
line
repair
is
taking
place
down
there,
so
there
will
be
no
through
traffic
permitted
until
that
project
is
wrapped
up.
A
I
know
that
a
lot
of
you
are
really
pretty
happy,
I'm
sure,
with
the
schaefer
street
project,
where
we
had
a
lot
of
cones
sitting
there
at
the
intersection
of
west
state
street
and
shaffer
that
has
been
corrected
and
paved
over,
so
that
is
certainly
put
together
to
bed,
which
is
a
good
thing.
Stimson
avenue,
columbia,
gas
work
down
there
they're
expecting
to
work
on
stimson,
ave
and
palmer
street
so
that
there
will
be
flaggers
in
that
area
as
well.
There's
a
lot
of
construction
going
on.
A
I've
noticed
that
the
u.s
50
and
32
repaving,
a
lot
of
the
barrels,
have
been
removed.
That
was
an
odot
project
to
do
the
resurfacing,
so
that
looks
like
that
is
coming
to
an
end
soon,
if
not
already.
I
was
just
driving
through
there
earlier
today
and
noticed
that
a
lot
of
the
orange
barrels
had
been
pulled
off
and
hopefully
like
I
said
that
that
will
be
completed.
A
Arts
parks
and
recreation
there's
registration,
that
is
being
it,
is
open
to
youth
dance
classes
at
the
community.
Center
registration
is
open
for
the
december
sessions
of
hippo,
huppo
dance
class
and
little
royal
ballet,
it's
twenty
dollars
for
three
session
registration
online
or
at
the
community
center
desk,
or
you
can
call
592-3325
to
enroll
in
the
youth
dance
classes.
A
The
second
thing
under
arts
parks
and
recreation
is
that
in
the
spirit
of
thankfulness
they,
the
community
center
is
offering
thankful
thursdays
at
the
community
center
to
show
their
appreciation
of
the
wonderful
community
of
athens.
The
center
will
be
open
thursdays
in
november
free
free
to
everyone,
just
simply
sign
up
at
the
front
desk,
and
it's
gonna
be
that
time
of
year
to
do
your
workouts
indoors,
an
email,
the
weather
is
unseasonably
nice.
Unfortunately,
it
will
be
turning
cold.
Clearly,
you
can
check
out
the
prices
at
the
community
center
and
to
try
out
their
facility.
A
It's
only
five
dollars
for
a
day
pass
the
community
center.
So
we
are
encouraging
people
to
take
advantage
of
that
and
continue
to
keep
yourselves
physically
healthy,
mentally
healthy.
A
The
community
center
is,
I
think,
doing
a
great
job
of
keeping
the
community
center
disinfected
throughout
has
been
throughout
the
covet
19
as
they
have
reopened
and
will
continue
to
do
so
unless
there
are
any
other
governor
directives
that
come
down
the
pipe
which
you
never
know
when
the
governor
may
change
things
up
again.
A
Some
upcoming
meetings
in
the
city
commission
on
disabilities
is
going
to
be
meeting
this
evening
at
5,
00
p.m,
again
open
to
the
public.
The
athens
municipal
arts
commission
will
also
be
meeting
at
6
00
p.m.
A
This
evening,
so
again
you
can
join
in
on
that
zoom
meeting
and
watch
that
the
planning
commission,
we
will
be
meeting
tomorrow
at
noon
again
open
to
the
public
and
is,
as
usual,
the
athens
city
council
will
be
meeting
november,
23rd
at
7,
00
pm
and
again
just
to
remind
people
the
governor's
most
recent
order,
which
is
the
curfew
from
10
pm
until
5
a.m,
encouraging
people
to
not
be
out
and
about
between
those
hours.
Unless
there's
an
absolute
need
to
do
so,
always
encouraging
people
to
wear
a
mask.
A
The
governor
has
come
out
with
a
new
order,
and
that
is
that
there
should
be
no
congregates
gatherings
in
outdoor
spaces
and
so
keep
that
in
mind
as
well,
gatherings
of
10
or
less
typically
with
people
who
are
related
to
each
other.
So
please,
please
do
your
best
that
I
know
that
we
all
can
do
to
try
to
flatten
the
curve
and
make
sure
that
our
community
is
safe
as
possible.
