A
B
A
It
was
monday
august
10th.
The
second
coveted
related
death
was
confirmed
in
athens
county,
while
cases
do
seem
to
be
declining
within
our
county.
The
recent
death
is
a
strong
reminder
of
the
the
dangers
of
covet
19..
A
On
august
7th,
there
was
a
drive-through
pop-up
testing
that
took
place
out
the
athens
high
school,
the
testing
covered
515
individuals
that
came
through
from
athens,
county
and
surrounding
areas.
Their
testing
was
done
by
the
ohio
national
guard
and,
interestingly,
more
than
half
of
those
that
were
tested
were
under
the
age
of
29.,
the
there
will
be
a
second
one
that
is
this
friday
again
from
1
to
6
p.m.
A
To
well
one,
the
testing
is
free
and
it's
available
to
anyone.
Registration
and
materials
are
available
at
the
athens
city,
county
health
department
website,
which
is
athenspublichealth.org
or
you
can
fill
them
out
at
the
event.
I
would
encourage
you
to
to
get
them
online
and
fill
them
out
and
that
testing
by
the
way
is
available
for
all
ages.
A
They
will
do
the
the
nasopharyngeal
swab
for
ages,
eight
plus,
and
then
they
do
a
different
type
of
nasal
swab
for
ages
1
through
17..
This
testing
will
be
first
come
first
serve
so
wanted
to
get
that
out
there,
and
certainly
let
people
know
about
that
opportunity.
So
again,
it'll
be
the
second
pop-up
covet
19
testing
here
in
athens
county
at
the
the
athens
high
school.
It
is
free
one
to
six
pm
this
friday.
A
Just
a
real
brief
update
on
some
of
the
construction
projects
going
on
in
the
city,
the
richland
avenue
pedestrian
passageway
is
scheduled
to
be
open
to
pedestrian
through
fair
through
the
passageway
within
the
next
couple
weeks,
and
the
road
surfaced.
Construction
will
continue
on
and
still
looking
like,
it'll
be
mid
to
late
september.
To
have
the
roadway
open
again
so
that
richland
avenue
will
flow
once
again,
so
that's
an
update
there
grant
avenue
or
grant
street
off
of
stimson
in
between
stimson
and
morris.
A
That
project
is
still
underway,
they're,
currently
laying
the
storm
drain
in
that
area.
On
that
project,
jos,
I
just
drove
by
moments
ago
that
is
still
a
construction
site,
so
you
may
or
may
not
be
detoured
around
that
area,
likely
that
you
will
be
that
you
will
end
up
going
down
to
campbell
to
cut
through
or
over
to
morris
avenue,
so
that
project
is
still
a
project
underway.
A
The
other
big
announcement
that
I
want
to
make
is
that,
monday
evening,
council
passed
the
ordinance
that
would
authorize
for
hapcap
to
administer
a
mortgage
rent
relief
program
for
people
who
live
in
the
city
of
athens.
A
That
is
using
the
cares
act
money
that
the
city
received
a
portion
of
it
to
offer
relief
for
those
who
may
be
at
risk
of
being
evicted
or
at
risk
of
having
foreclosure
taking
place
on
your
mortgage.
So
that
program
is
now
live.
You
can
certainly
reach
out
to
hapcap
and
the
number
that
I
would
direct
you
to
to
call
the
hocking
athens
perry.
Community
action
would
be.
A
This
is
a
a
great
program
to
help
again
people
living
in
our
community,
who
may
be
at
risk
of
being
evicted
or
being
significantly
behind
in
their
mortgage,
and
I
believe
that
they're
you'll
hear
more
about
some
future
programs
that
the
city
wants
to
implement
using
the
cares,
act,
money
or
a
portion
of
it.
So
that
is
good
news
that
is
out
there
and
again.
Let
me
share
with
you
that
program
is
being
administered
by
the
hocking
athens,
perry
community
action
at
740-767,
four,
five,
zero
zero
other
than
that.
