Description
Mayor's Press Conference - April 26, 2023
B
Good
afternoon
and
welcome
once
again
to
the
weekly
update
with
Kyle
Johansen
and
the
mayor,
the
I,
it's
really
nice
outside
I'm,
stuck
in
here
but
Kyle
Johansen
is
not
Kyle
is
down
at
the
copperheads
or
Bob
Renfield
Kyle.
B
C
Tomorrow,
cloudy
70
off
ready,
four
Fridays
thunderstorms,
high
of
70
degrees,
low
52,
sorry,
mostly
cloudy
48.,
so
I
never
got
raining
conditions,
High,
64
and
1.3.
C
B
Of
course,
she
will
all
right:
hey
thanks,
Kyle,
thanks
for
jumping
in
next
week.
All
right
take
care,
so
there
you
have
it
Kyle
Johansson
as
usual,
calling
in
when
he's
doing
one
of
his
favorite
things,
which
is
watching
sports.
B
Speaking
of
the
weather,
you
know
something
that
I
want
people
to
kind
of.
Keep
in
mind
is
the
fact
that
tomorrow
morning,
through
the
night,
rather
and
into
tomorrow
morning,
by
9
00
a.m,
or
until
nine
a.m
is
a
frost
advisory.
B
As
Kyle
had
indicated,
you
know,
the
low
is
going
to
be
34
degrees,
but
with
that
we're
also
looking
at
potential
Frost
I
know
when
I
drove
in
this
morning
on
primary
Road,
there
was
Frost
all
over
the
place.
So
if
you've
got
plants
that
are
already
in
the
ground
and
out
there
make
sure
that
you
put
them
under
cover,
unless
you
don't
care
that
they
may
die.
B
I
hope
that's
not
the
case,
but
just
know
that
there
is
a
frost
advisory
until
9
A.M
tomorrow,
the
city
of
Athens
billing
office
is
really
making
a
big
change,
which
is
fantastic.
There.
You
see
the
new
billing
and
payment
service,
which
is
completely
online,
giving
people
more
options
in
which
to
pay
their
utility
bill.
B
It's
a
billing
portal
powered
through
invoice
cloud
and
there
on
your
screen,
is
the
QR
code
and
I
believe
that
if
you
were
to
take
out
your
smartphone
and
go
to
the
camera
feature
and
zero
in
on
that
it'll
direct
you
to
that
particular
online
service,
so
take
advantage.
You
know
it.
B
The
methods
for
payment
include,
as
you
can
see,
MasterCard
Visa
discover
American
Express,
E-Check
Apple
pay,
Google
pay
PayPal
even
venmo,
so
this
will
go
live
on
the
first
so
soon
and
hopefully
we'll
make
sure
that
we
get
this
I'm,
pretty
sure
it's
going
to
be
on
the
city's
website
and
but
Scott
and
Ryan
make
sure
we
get
that
out
there
through
all
of
our
media
Outlets,
because
I
think
that
there
will
be
a
fair
number
of
people
that
would
like
to
take
advantage
of
something
like
that.
B
I
mentioned
this
before
and
is
the
Athens
Commission
on
disabilities
accessibility
grants
up
to
fifteen
thousand
dollars
will
be
available
for
Athens
businesses
to
do
either
upgrades
to
their
business,
I.E,
upgrading
their
restrooms
or
maybe
upgrading
the
entrance
into
their
facility
to
become
more
Ada,
accessible,
Ada
friendly.
So
it
is
out
there.
We
encourage
people
to
reach
out
to
Anna
Corpi
and
you
can
reach
her
at
a-n-n-a.
B
A-N-N-A-H-B-U-R-R
at
gmail.com
and
let
Anna
know
that
you're
interested
in
this
and
she
will
I'm
sure,
set
you
up,
there's
also
a
QR
code
that
I
think
we
have
on
the
city's
website
or
a
a
a
URL
for
being
able
to
find
the
same
information
and
apply
so
take
advantage
of
that
I
know.
There's
a
couple.
Business
owners
excuse
me
that
have
to
talk
to
me
about
that,
wanting
to
potentially
apply
for
Ada
improvements
in
their
businesses
invisible
ground.
This
is
pretty
cool.
B
I've
talked
about
this
in
the
past,
just
to
mention
it
again
that
there
are
three
new
locations
to
where
again,
you
can
take
your
smartphone
to
take
a
image
of
the
QR
code
that
is
on
these
round
stencils
on
the
ground
or
stickers
on
the
ground.
Excuse
me
and
and
then
aim
it
at
the
the
over
at
the
courthouse
and
you'll,
see
the
Fountain
of
or
you'll
see,
Teddy
Roosevelt
standing
on
the
courthouse
steps
from
way
back
when
so
pretty
cool
to
check
that
out
as
well.
B
I
do
want
to
remind
people
that
I
will
be
reading
a
proclamation
at
noon
over
at
the
miners,
Memorial
or
miners
mural,
the
miners
wall,
if
you
will
over
by
in
between
Lucky's
and
attraction
salon
and
there's
the
proclamation
where
I'll
be
reading
this
at
the
workers,
Memorial
Day,
you
know
giving
recognition
to
our
labor
unions,
but
also
the
safety
and
the
role
that
our
unions
and
OSHA
play
when
it
comes
to
making
sure
that
workers
in
our
different
sectors
throughout
the
city
are
are
protected,
that
there's
safety
measures
in
place
for
the
workers
in
the
different
again
sectors.
B
Certainly
here
in
the
city
of
Athens,
that's
all
I
really
have
for
today.
So
big.
Thank
you
to
the
government
Channel
continuing
to
encourage
people
to
download
nixel
the
nixel
app,
which
is
easy
to
do,
but
also
the
Athens
there.
You
go
also
the
Athens
City
Source
app,
but
for
nixel
you
know
pretty
easy
to
download
There's
the
City
Source
app
that
we
encourage
people
to
use
from
what
I
understand
with
the
new
utility
bill
system
that
we
have
you'll.
B
Also,
there
will
be
a
link
on
that
site
as
you're
paying
your
water
bill
or
utility
bill,
a
link
to
remind
people
to
download
the
Athens
Ohio
City
Source
app
to
be
able
to
report
problems
that
you
might
see
around
the
community
in
your
house
on
your
street
in
your
rental
unit.
If
you
are
renting
so
please
take
advantage
of
that.
The
Nixa
lap
is
great
because
it'll
alert
you
to
a
number
of
different
things,
whether
it's
an
amber
alert
or
inclement
weather.
You
know,
I,
wouldn't
be,
wouldn't
surprise
me
at
all.
B
If
the
frost
advisory
is
somewhere
on
nixel
as
well,
so
you
can
pretty
much
set
it
to
what
you
want
to
have
to
be
pinged
on
with
different
things
or
you
can
have
everything
alert
you.
So
it's
a
great
way
to
get
valuable
information
and
the
City
Athens
City
Source
app
is
a
great
way
for
you
to
be
an
Engaged,
Citizen
and
report
to
the
city,
different
things
that
you
may
see
for
anything
from
litter
to
a
malfunctioning
or
not
functioning
street
light
or
traffic
signal,
or
anything
of
that
nature.
Potholes.
