Description
Mayor's Weekly Update - March 24, 2021
A
B
A
So
kyle
you
mentioned
at
least
sometime
in
the
next
seven
days
that
it's
possible
to
have
sounds
like
significant
high
winds,
possibly-
and
we
were
just
talking
pre-show-
that
you
know
talking
about
dead
trees,
dead,
trees
and
and
the
ease
at
which
these
wind
storms,
when
they
do
come
through
either
snap
large
limbs
small
limbs,
but
in
some
cases
are
filling
whole
trees.
A
So
I
just
want
to
remind
people
that
if
that
does
occur,
please
use
the
city
source
app,
get
it
out
there
make
sure
that
we
are
aware
so
that
our
street
crews
can
get
out
and
help
remove.
I
know
that
when
I'm
up
in
my
neighborhood,
I
will
often
you
know
be
on
the
roam.
Looking
for
after
a
wind
storm
to
see
if
trees
have
have
fallen
or
limbs
have
fallen,
to
make
sure
we
can
get
those
removed
from
our
roadways.
A
But
you
know
it's
good
to
remind
people
about
our
app
that's
on
the
city's
website.
Please
download
it
and
it's
at
the
app
store.
You
know
both
google
play
and
the
apple
app
store,
so
pull
it
down.
It's
simple:
it's
easy
and
in
case
again
we
do
have
a
wind
storm
that
starts
taking
out
a
lot
of
of
the
overhead
foliage
from
our
dead
ash
trees,
and
we've
got
a
lot
of
them
around.
A
A
Kyle
kovan,
19,
updates.
A
A
So
we
are
seeing
a
a
it
was
numbers
were
dropping
quickly
now
we're
kind
of
at
that
point
to
where
they're
going
to
be
dropping
off
more
slowly
and
that's
always
encouraging,
but
to
share
that
with
everyone
who's
watching.
A
Today
again,
I
say
this:
every
time
and
you're
gonna
get
tired
of
hearing
it,
but
I
don't
get
tired
of
saying
it,
and
that
is
we
can't
let
our
guard
down
kyle
as
you
and
I
have
spoken
before,
that
the
age
range
you
know
really
transitioned
to
where
it's
now,
depending
on
the
type
of
vaccine,
the
governor
is
allowing
age
16
plus
yeah,
to
get
the
vaccine.
A
That
age,
16
plus,
would
certainly
apply
to
the
pfizer
vaccine,
the
johnson
and
johnson
and
the
moderna
would
be
individuals,
age,
18
plus,
but
regardless
get
your
name
on
a
waste.
No
waste
list
get
your
name
out
there
for
open
slots.
You
would
do
whatever
you
need
to
do,
but
we
need
to
really
make
a
big
concerted
push
to
get
everyone
in
our
athens
county
communities
vaccinated.
A
A
Fully
vaccinated-
and
I
would
imagine
it's
a
great
feeling-
kyle
to
know
that
that
is
on
its
way-
a
heartbreaker
on
monday
night.
So
talk
to
us
about
all
things:
ohio,
university,
athletics,.
A
And
and
kyle
what
sports
are
community
members
allowed
to
observe,
or
are
you
keeping
on
top
of
that
you
know?
Are
there
ohio,
university,
baseball
or
softball
games
that
people
could
observe
or
watch
the
games,
or
do
you
know
it's.
B
A
Well,
kyle,
as
usual,
I
appreciate
you
giving
us
updates
on
the
weather
corona
virus,
the
coronavirus,
as
well
as
ou
athletics,
stay,
healthy
and
well,
my
friend
and
I'm
sure
it'll
be
a
game
changer
for
for
you
and
your
family,
when
you
guys
can
can
be
fully
vaccinated
and
yep
mobile
again.
A
So
updates
around
the
city,
engineering
and
public
works,
the
stimson
avenue
slash
north
campbell
street
intersection
closure,
which
is
underway.
It
started
yesterday
and
hopefully
will
wrap
up
tomorrow.
A
This
is
for
a
water
line,
installation
in
that
area.
So
just
make
note
that
is
going
on
the,
and
if
you
have
questions
about
that
project
or
the
stimson
avenue
project,
which
is,
you
know,
will
be
underway
under
construction
for
quite
some
time,
you
know
feel
free
to
reach
out
to
engineering
and
public
works
at
593-7636
spring
cleanup
week
april
19th
through
the
23rd.
A
I
mentioned
this
I
believe
last
week
and
it's
worth
putting
this
on
heavy
rotation,
because
this
is
something
so
well
worth
taking
advantage
of.
You
know.
During
that
week
residents
will
be
allowed
to
place
unlimited
amounts
of
trash
at
the
curb
on
their
on
their
regular
pickup
day.
So
keep
that
in
mind
at
no
extra
cost
please
place
trash
out
before
7
am
on
your
collection
days
again.
If
you've
got
bigger
items,
you
know
special
hall
items.
They
may
also
be
placed
out
of
the
curb,
but
you
get.
A
You
have
to
arrange
a
call,
a
arrange,
a
pickup,
so
you
need
to
call
the
service
garage
at
592-3.
A
For
normal
pickup,
there
is
a
fee,
it'll,
be
the
standard
special
hall
minimum
charge
of
15
per
cubic
yard.
So
keep
that
in
mind
as
well.
A
Other
things
that
you
will
notice
is
that
building
materials
tires
liquids
are
not
accepted
at
the
curbside.
We
will
be
having
dumpsters
down
at
the
service
garage.
A
They
will
be
open
for
the
hours
of
7
30
a.m
until
3
30
pm
monday
through
fridays,
with
no
charge,
and
this
will
be
for
scrap
metal
and
trash,
and
that
is
down
at
387
west
state
street.
A
Again
this
is
the
service
garage
you're
going
to
need
to
provide
a
photo
id,
as
well
as
your
utility
bill,
to
show
that
your
address
you
did
live
in
the
city
of
athens
to
verify
addresses.
A
592-3306-592-3306
the
health
department
we
already
talked
about
this-
this
is
great
news
that
all
ohio's
age,
16
plus,
will
be
able
to
get
the
vaccine
that
is
active
now.
Originally,
it
was
supposed
to
be
the
29th
of
march.
It's
it's
now
available
for
individuals,
age,
16
plus
as
kyle,
and
I
were
just
discussing
moments
ago.
A
A
A
Arts
parks
and
rec
department
summer
camp
registration
is
well
underway
at
the
community
center.
So
don't
miss
out.
You
know
you
can
get
your
child
registered.
The
hours
of
operation
are
monday
through
friday,
6
a.m
to
8
p.m.
They
are
closed
from
noon,
to
1,
for
a
deep,
clean
and
then
from
1
to
2.
They
are
open
to
our
senior
population
only
and
then
saturdays
8
a.m
to
2
p.m.
If
you've
got
any
questions,
make
sure
you
call
the
community
center
at
592-3325
and
they
will
have
answers
for
you.
A
The
city
is
currently
hiring
for
seasonal
positions,
lifeguards
pool
cashiers
summer
day,
camp
counselors
park,
maintenance
and
cemetery
maintenance.
You
can
apply
online
at.
A
740-592-3367
again
592-3367
the
national
league
of
women's
of
athens
county
last
night
march
23rd
they
had
the
athens
city,
council,
fourth
ward
candidate
forum.
You
can
watch
this
on.
The
city
of
athens
website
youtube
the
government
channel.
It
will
probably
be
in
heavy
rotation
for
a
while
on
channel
10
24
on
spectrum
cable.
A
A
I
believe
that
that
is
most
of
what
I
have
for
today.
A
I
do
want
to
give
an
update
one
of
the
things
that
you
will
be
seeing
in
the
not
too
distant
future,
hopefully
within
the
next
week
or
two-
is
that
I'm
going
to
be
working
with
the
government
channel
to
create
a
page
on
our
city
website
a
pull
down
window
to
where
we
can
start
posting
things
that
we
have
been
doing
for
several
months
or
even
longer
when
it
comes
to
racial
equity.
A
Here
in
the
city
of
athens,
we
feel
that
we
need
to
have
a
repository
of
everything
that
we
have
engaged
in
things
that
are
currently
underway
and
things
in
the
future
when
it
comes
to
diversity,
equity
and
inclusion
here
in
the
city
of
athens.
So
I
would
encourage
you
to
look
out
for
that.
A
We
are
working
with
them
to
have
a
city-wide,
departmental
audit
of
everything
here
in
the
city
to
see
where
there
are
there's
need
for
improvement,
because
we
know
that
there
is,
but
again
we're
going
to
create
something
to
where
there's
transparency
of
what
we
have
been
doing
and
what
we
plan
to
do
in
the
near
future,
and
just
one
last
reminder
for
everybody.
Thank
you,
scott
and
ryan.
A
Is
I
mentioned
this
with
high
winds
and
trees,
but
there's
so
much
more
that
people
can
be
using
the
athens,
ohio
city
source
app,
which
you
can
go
to
google
play
or
you
can
go
to
the
apple,
app
store
and
easily
find
that
just
put
in
athens,
ohio
city
source,
it'll
pop
right
up,
download
it
it's
free
and
that
way
you
can
have
at
your
disposal
a
way
in
which
you
can
reach
out
to
the
city,
identify
problems,
issues
that
we
need
to
address,
whether
it's
streets
or
trees
debris
litter
graffiti.
A
You
know
you
name
it.
You
can
sit
there
and
report
it
easily
and
simply
in
the
comfort
of
your
own
living
room
or
backyard
or
front
yard,
or
wherever
you're
at
with
the
athens
ohio
city
source
app.
That's
all
I've
got
for
today.
