From YouTube: 5/20/19 - Council Meeting recap Craig Clark
Description
City of Austin, Minnesota
A
Thanks
for
joining
us
on
this
edition
of
the
counsel
recap:
Council
Monday
May
20th
5:30
in
the
council
jam
for
the
council's
started
off
with
adding
a
few
items
to
the
agenda
added.
The
honorary
councilmember
Solomon
Paul
will
be
serving
as
the
honorary
council
member
for
a
three
month
period
here
moving
forward
and
then
also
his
appointment
to
the
police,
Civil
Service,
Commission
and
those
items
to
the
consent.
Agenda
Council
approved
that
we
kick
things
off
under
recognitions
and
awards
by
welcoming
the
Ellis
robotics
team
that
was
kind
of
fun.
A
They
performed
really
well
out
in
Louisville
Kentucky
and
finished
kind
of
seventh
in
an
international
competition.
So
that's
exciting
to
help
put
us
in
the
map
and
move
forward.
We
also
recognize
dr.
Doug
Myers
for
his
years
of
service
on
the
police,
Civil
Service,
Commission
14
years
and
through
I,
think
three
different
police
chiefs
and
and
that
sort
of
thing
and
hiring
of
our
police
officers.
A
Several
those
though
Reinhardt's
wensel
property,
$365,000
estimated
value
of
that
home
Bigelow
linen,
is
a
spec
home
out
in
nature's
Ridge,
two
hundred
eighty
four
thousand
nine
hundred
on
the
estimated
value
on
that
Angela
Johnson.
We
approved
estimator
value
on
that
almost
three
hundred
thousand
and
another
one
for
Cedar
City
Builders,
also
in
nature's
rich
subdivision
of
three
hundred
and
thirty
nine
thousand
for
that
project.
A
A
We
also
proved
engineering
construction
inspection,
as
well
as
materials
and
testing
inspections.
As
part
of
that
project
and
council
moved
that
project
along,
we
revised
the
city's
investment
policy
to
provide
a
little
bit
more
flexibility
of
what
we
can
statutorily,
invest
in
and
ensure
the
best
return
for
the
taxpayers
of
our
reserve
funds.
We
extended
the
private
redevelopment
contract
for
the
Fox
Point
townhome
projects
with
the
snow
and
wet
weather
and
things
that
they
had
on
that
project.
They
wanted
to
extend
that
June
1st
of
2019
or
excuse
me.
A
It
was
set
to
be
June
1st
of
2019.
We've
extend
that
out
to
August
31st
of
2019
moved
on.
We
allow
for
the
transfer
of
on
sale,
liquor
license
and
Sunday
on
sale
for
Bella
Victoria
they'll
be
moving
to
a
new
location
out
there
by
the
new
Hobby
Lobby,
probably
in
June,
but
we
wanted
to
get
that
rolling,
so
they're
able
to
move
without
a
hitch
and
also
needs
to
be
forwarded
on
to
the
state.
A
We
approved
engineering,
construction
inspection
services,
we've
had
two
engineering
texts
that
help
inspect
and
put
the
projects
together
for
Street
projects
move
on
to
other
positions.
As
a
result,
we
need
to
hire
some
outside
assistance
to
help
us
with
our
current
Street
projects
this
year.
As
we
look
to
hire
those
positions
back,
council
approved
that
intermediary
step
to
make
sure
we
can
get
our
projects
done
for
the
year.
A
We
also
had
discussion
on
annexation
of
a
piece
of
property
requested
by
Vern
and
Virginia
carrot
in
Lansing
Township
Council,
ahead
with
annexing
that
portion
of
the
township
into
the
municipal
boundaries
in
the
city
of
austin.
We
reviewed
a
plat
and
continue
that
for
future
discussion
for
natures,
Ridge
to
June
3rd,
and
we
also
approved
a
couple
properties
for
removal
of
junk
and
that
legally
stored
vehicles
and
fence
located
at
10,000,
812
Avenue
Southwest
other
than
that
that
pretty
well
rounded
out
the
council
meeting
put
on
your
counter
June
12th
for
4th
Avenue
fest.
A
We
hope
you
can
join
us
on
that
day
to
come
out
and
meet
your
neighbors
and
enjoy
the
hopefully
good
weather
that
we
had
last
year
when
we
did
the
event.
Otherwise,
if
you
have
questions
on
these
or
any
other
matters,
give
me
a
buzz,
would
love
to
hear
from
you
for
three
seven,
nine,
nine
for
one
otherwise
have
a
great
day.
