From YouTube: City Council Meeting - 4/18/22
Description
City of Austin, MN
A
C
A
All
in
favor
all
right
proposed
motion
carries
recognitions
and
awards.
We
have
none
item
number
four
is
a
motion
for
the
consent
agenda.
A
E
Mayor
council
and
an
effort
to
save
some
money,
lots
of
money,
I'd
like
to
purchase
the
ladder
truck,
which
was
initially
in
the
2025
cip.
It
would
be
moved
to
the
2024,
cip
and
we'd
write
a
contract
before
may
1st
this
year
without
paying
any
funds
until
it
is
received
in
2024..
E
F
A
A
G
G
Yes,
mayor
and
council,
there
are
actually
two
forfeited
items
on
the
agenda
tonight.
So
number
seven
would
be
setting
a
public
hearing
for
the
reassessment
of
the
property
that
sold
in
2021,
so
the
assessments
that
were
cancelled
and
then
those
properties
were
resold
to
get
them
back
on
the
tax
roll
in
those
assessments
to
be
reassessed
and
then
the
next
one
just
addressing
them
at
both
times.
G
H
G
I
A
B
A
J
Next
year,
in
2023,
we're
planning
to
reconstruct
first
street
northwest
because
of
its
proximity
to
the
downtown
takes
a
lot
more
planning
than
a
normal
project.
So
we're
looking
to
get
started
with
things.
Early
major
items
in
that
roadway
are
a
lot
of
underground
infrastructure
that
we
really
need
to
plan
closely.
J
Another
unique
item
is
quest
is
located
adjacent
to
first
street
by
st
olaf.
So
there's
a
lot
of
underground
telecommunications
in
this
stretch,
but
before
you
tonight
is
a
request
to
hire
whks
to
review
our
signal
lights
in
this
area,
we
have
a
signal,
light
located
on
1st
street
and
4th
avenue
northwest.
J
We
also
have
a
unique
intersection
near
first
drive
and
fifth
place
as
it
starts
to
go
down
the
hill
toward
the
swimming
pool.
That
intersection
is
part
of
this
project
and
we
want
to
review
that
as
well
as
take
the
opportunity
to
review
a
couple
signal
lights
on
main
street.
So
this
involves
a
review
of
four
intersections
to
determine,
what's
the
proper
use
and
and
type
of
control
for
those
intersections,
if
it's
a
four-way,
stop
two-way
stop
or
signal
light.
A
That'll
be
very
interesting.
I
know
some
folks
have
already
approached
me
in
this
on
the
signal
lights
being
removed.
At
least
one
of
them
downtown
are
favorable
to
it
and,
as
I
listened
to
that
velocity
guy
prior
to
that,
I
wouldn't
even
have
looked
for
it,
but
now
that
I'm
actually
sitting
at
a
stop
light
with
no
one
else,
yeah
thinking.
Maybe
this
could
be
a
stop
sign
and
then
so
it'll
be
interesting
to
see
how
that
comes
back.
D
A
J
We
have
a
trail
planned
for
oakland
avenue
west
to
get
out
by
ford
town,
and
a
small
portion
of
that
trail
is
planned
to
connect
to
the
I-90
ramp
and
we
get
out
into
mndot
right-of-way,
so
anytime,
we're
working
in
the
mndot
right-of-way.
They
require
us
to
enter
into
a
limited
use
permit
with
them
as
they
as
they
regulate
their
right
of
way
very
closely.
So
this
is
a
document
that
we
would
request.
J
Council
approval
to
allow
us
to
enter
into
an
agreement
with
mndot
for
a
limited
use
permit
to
create
a
a
leg
kind
of
into
the
mndot
right-of-way,
which
will
then,
when
mndot
reconstructs
the
bridge
over
I-90
at
oakland,
avenue
west.
That
bridge
will
have
a
trail
on
it
and
a
pedestrian
trail
on
the
south
side
of
it.
And
this
it
will
connect
in
here
to
this
future
trail
that
we
plan
on
constructing.
J
It'll
be
a
combination,
we'll
try
to
separate
it
and
have
a
standalone
trail
wherever
we
can,
but
right
in
front
of
the
old
holiday
dodge.
It's
gonna
have
to
be
a
lane
added
on
to
the
road
there.
Just
isn't
enough
room
there
and
grade
separation
makes
it
very
difficult
to
have
a
separate
trail.
Okay,
thank
you.
A
E
A
All
right,
a
couple
of
hazards
of
structures
here,
number
11-
is
our
resolution
to
clearing
the
structure
at
606,
first
avenue
southwest
as
hazardous.
I
B
A
You
number
12
is
to
declaring
the
structure
at
204
12th
street
southeast
as
hazardous
resolution,
so
moved.
Second
tom.
B
A
A
So
I
moved
second,
all
in
favor
aye
most
that
motion
carries
13b
is
located
at
1809
4th
ave,
northeast
rodriguez
property,
some
move.
Second,
oh
in
favor
aye
closed.
That
motion
also
carries
item.
Number
13
c
is
904
12th
ave,
southeast
the
franco
property
neater
motion
so
moved.
A
A
Honorary
council
bill
is
not
here,
reports
and
recommendations,
city
administrator,
craig.
I
Yes,
the
league
of
minnesota
cities
summer
conference
is
june
22nd
through
24th
early
bird
registration
ends
the
29th
of
april.
If
you're
interested
in
attending.
Let
us
know
we
can
save
a
little
bit
on
the
registration.
If
we
do
it.
Early
dca
is
working
with
malware
county
to
implement
maura
county
resiliency
grants.
Those
are
up
to
five
thousand
dollars
for
area
businesses
to
be
more
sustainable
and
resistant
to
pandemics
and
future
challenges,
contact
the
dca
for
more
information,
but
they
have
hundred
thousand
dollars
they'll,
be
letting
out
to
businesses.
C
So
we
have
a
writer's
workshop
at
1
30
thursday
at
the
mower
county,
historical
building.
Any
writers
in
the
group
are
interested.
They
can
sign
up
at
the
library
and
come
on
over
and
then
she's
going
to
be
doing
her
book
lecture
and
signing
at
7
pm
on
thursday
night.
The
library
will
close
at
5
and
reopen
at
6
30.
For
that
public
event,
we
have
container
gardening
workshop
classes,
tuesday
at
one
o'clock
and
next
tuesday,
at
6
p.m.
We've
got
some
great
collaborations
going
on
with
the
horticultural
society
and
the
master
gardeners
this
year.
C
We've
got
our
seed
library.
You
can
come
in
and
get
some
free
seeds
and
learn
how
to
do
some
container
gardening
and
last
but
not
least,
the
social
justice
book
club
will
be
meeting
next
tuesday
at
six
o'clock.
We
have
a
book
in
april
and
in
may
and
then
we're
going
to
take
a
break
for
the
summer.
So
if
you're
interested
call
on
over
to
the
library
and
get
signed
up
for
that
as
well.
D
Quick
thing:
actually,
the
local
austin
rotary
group
is
doing
their
annual
service
awards.
So
we
are
looking
for
nominations
for
government
service
of
the
year
educator
of
the
year
and
volunteer
of
the
year.
So
we
have
those
available
to
print
and
fill
out
the
old
school
way
or
we
have
a
nice
easy
online.
Google
form,
whichever
you
prefer.
A
Nothing
your
honor
all
I
have
is
just
to
wish
julia
condolences
on
the
loss
of
your
mom
and
to
you
and
your
family.
So
that's
quite
a
loss,
but
we're
sorry
to
hear
yeah
with
that
and
nothing
else
and
well.
It's
6,
45.,
yay,
45.
Sorry,
looking
for
a
motion
to
adjourn
to
monday
may
2nd
2022
at
5
30.
so
moved
second
call
in
favor,
hi
hi
closed
motion
carries
and
there's
no
work
session
tonight.
So
this
is
as
quick
as
it
gets.
I
guess
have.
