Description
City of Austin, Minnesota
A
Thanks
for
joining
us
on
this
edition,
the
council
recap:
council
met
Tuesday,
September
3rd
5:30
in
the
council
chambers,
one
of
the
first
I.
The
business
was
the
presentation
of
the
city
art
award
that
took
place
as
part
of
the
artworks
festival.
Recently
at
the
city
city
picks.
A
award
$500
goes
to
one
of
the
artists
for
the
city,
hard
work.
A
Moving
on,
we
had
recognition
of
the
welcoming
week.
Proclamation
several
events
will
be
posted.
Look
on
our
Facebook
page
for
those
coming
out
here
shortly
for
welcoming
week.
We
also
have
tax
abatement
application
public
hearing.
This
is
another
one
of
our
abatement
applications
for
new
single-family
or
multifamily
homes,
a
two
hundred
thousand
dollar
house
at
13.
Our
excuse
me
39:16
West,
Auckland
Council,
approved,
as
conformance
with
our
adopted
policy
for
housing.
A
Tax
abatements,
moved
on
to
Austin
utilities
had
a
ordinance
they
needed
adopted
to
allow
for
natural
gas
prepay
that
allows
them
to
lower
their
natural
gas
costs
and
pass
that,
along
to
our
residents
and
consumers
of
Austin
utilities,
natural
gas
council
approved
that
ordinance
weren't,
really
any
questions
on
that
and
be
approved
through
the
Austin
Utilities
Board
as
well.
Now
we
authorized
the
yard
waste
site
for
2019.
A
We've
been
doing
that
for
about
15
years
and
you
take
leaves
grass
and
plants
and
no
branches
allowed
and
opened
onto
dusk
will
have
that
open
from
September
15th
through
November
30th.
A
lot
of
people
take
advantage
of
that,
and
this
will
be
no
exception.
This
year,
council
approved
that
be
out
there,
north
and
Creekside
Business
Park
off
to
18
north
of
town.
A
We
also
set
public
hearing
for
our
fall
assessments
for
things
like
snow
removal,
junk
and
mowing
for
those
properties
that
didn't
tend
to
those
things
they
get
a
find
from
the
city
and
those
fines
can
be
levied
against
their
taxes,
future
taxes,
so
I
have
to
set
up
public
hearing.
For
that
we
did
that
for
October
7th
of
2019.
We
also
had
a
memorandum
of
agreement
with
one
of
the
patrol
bargaining
units
le
LS
local
73
in
this
relates
to
cost
of
living
for
2019.
A
We
instituted
that
in
the
same
provision
that
we
did
for
all
other
employees
that
was
approved
by
council.
Oh,
we
moved
on.
We
had
to
do
an
adjustment
for
the
angry
hog,
they've
added
a
patio
and
deck
at
their
facility,
make
sure
you
check
out
them
and
enjoy
a
beverage
adult
beverage
at
their
facility,
but
that
we
had
to
do
an
adjustment
to
their
liquor
license
to
allow
them
to
have
sales
on
their
patio,
a
new
deck
that
was
approved
by
council.
A
We
have
a
declarative
property
at
801,
15th,
Street,
northeast
a
hazardous
structure,
and
we
had
several
handful
of
other
properties
that
we
cited
for
removal
of
junk
or
illegally
stored
vehicles,
otherwise
that
pretty
much
ended.
The
council
agenda.
If
you
have
questions
on
these
items
or
anything
else,
give
me
a
buzz
four
three:
seven,
nine
nine
forty
one
otherwise
have
a
great
date.
We'll
talk
to
you
soon.
