From YouTube: 5/6/19 - Council Meeting recap Craig Clark
Description
City of Austin, Minnesota
A
5:30
in
the
council
chain
were
awarding
several
bids
for
Street
construction
projects.
First,
one
was
for
the
Oakland
place.
Southeast
underpass
bids
came
in
at
about
1.1
million
for
that
project.
Engineer's
estimate
was
1.3,
there'll
be
a
lot
of
rerouting
of
traffic
and
that
sort
of
thing
of
that
busy
intersection
this
summer,
but
move
that
project
forward.
Next
item
was
receiving
bids
for
the
demolition
of
107
West
Oakland
Avenue.
This
is
part
of
our
KS
MQ
project
and
partnership.
We've
received
six
bids,
so
a
healthy
list
of
bidders
for
that
projects.
A
Eighty
four
thousand
two
hundred
was
awarded
for
the
demolition
of
that
project
and
it's
subject
to
the
actual
axle
acquisition
of
the
property
which
we're
still
working
on
we've
received
bids
for
the
bandshell
Park
sanitary
sewer
project.
This
project
of
one
hundred
eighty
two
thousand
134
awarded
to
Jensen
excavating
funds
will
come
from
the
sanitary
sewer
fund,
as
well
as
the
CIP
for
that
project.
We
had
received
bids
for
fourth
Avenue
Northeast
and
fourth
Street
northeast
intersection
improvements.
These
are
bump-outs.
A
We
discussed
those
back
in
2018
we'll
try
to
provide
some
safer
pedestrian
crossing
of
fourth
for
the
new
rec
center
community
rec
center
Doyle
Conner
was
awarded
the
bid
for
one
hundred
and
sixty
nine
thousand
585.
There
will
be
also
signage
and
planters
in
that
area
to
help
with
traffic
calming
and
hopefully
keep
people
safe
as
they
cross
the
street
from
the
additional
parking
there
in
Riverside
arena
for
overflow.
A
We
also
moved
on
to
petitions
and
requests.
We
agreed
to
participate
in
the
performance
measurement
surveys,
the
city
of
ulsan
data
out
again
to
solicit
feedback
from
our
constituents
on
how
we're
doing
we
received
a
little
bit
more
state
aid
program.
Through
the
state
auditor's
office,
we
approved
airport
maintenance
grant
with
the
state
of
Minnesota.
We
can
use
up
to
75%
costs
related
to
expenses
at
the
airport.
The
grant
will
be
450.
A
$1,075
would
roughly
spend
60
to
70
South
sixty
to
seventy
thousand
dollars
a
year.
A
two-year
grant
for
the
airport
council
approved
that
we
moved
on
to
accepting
a
feasibility
report
for
the
Turtle
Creek
Trail
project.
This
would
be
from
fourth
Street
to
tenth
the
street
southwest.
We
received
$100,000
grant
from
a
state
and
fifty
thousand
dollars
from
the
Hormel
Foundation,
as
well
as
fifty
thousand
dollars
contributed
by
the
city
to
make
the
project
move
forward.
This
will
be
on
the
north
side
of
the
creek
can
be
a
nice
addition
to
our
trail
system.
A
We
also
authorized
$10,000
from
contingency
funds
for
a
problem
that
we
had
at
Packer
arena
during
the
cold
stretch,
we
had
a
louver,
stick
open
and
freeze,
and
then
water
busted
and
poured
over
a
control
system.
So
we
need
to
replace
that
council
approved
that
right
now
the
estimates
about
80
to
40
for
that
project.
A
We
also
authorized
the
sale
of
Public
Works
equipment,
accepted
a
donation
appointed
some
Mattia
to
the
library
board
and
declared
a
couple
hazardous
structures
and
removal
of
junk
to
close
out
the
council
meeting.
We
made
note
of
that
electronics
recycling
event
this
weekend
from
9
to
2
at
the
fairgrounds,
if
you're
interested
in
turning
in
electronics
equipment,
there's
fee
schedule
for
that
visit
our
Facebook
page
to
get
more
information
on
that.
Otherwise,
if
you
have
informations
on
this
or
any
other
item,
give
me
a
call
