From YouTube: Biloxi Covid 19 Update 6 15 2020
Description
Covid numbers increasing; safety reminders
A
Hello,
my
name
is
Vincent
Creole
and
I'm.
The
public
affairs
manager
for
the
city
of
Biloxi
I'm
here
to
deliver
today's
be
prepared
report.
This
is
being
recorded
on
Monday
June,
15th
2020
at
3:30
in
the
afternoon.
This
is
our
first
report
since
Friday,
so
we're
going
to
review
the
weekend
today,
the
Mississippi
State
Department
of
Health
reports,
283
new
cases
of
the
corona
virus,
were
identified
statewide
in
the
past
24
hours,
283
cases,
the
state
also
reported
257
cases
on
Saturday
and
168
in
cases
on
Sunday.
A
The
overall
total
statewide
is
now
nineteen
thousand
seven
hundred
and
ninety
nine
cases
since
day,
one
and
a
total
of
895
deaths
since
Counting
began.
This
chart
shows
you
the
daily
comparison
of
new
cases
reported
in
the
state
over
the
past
14
days
in
Harrison
County,
it's
been
another
busy
weekend
for
the
coronavirus
cases.
As
you
can
see
from
this
chart,
twenty-three
new
cases
were
reported
in
the
past
24
hours.
A
Additionally,
16
were
reported
on
Saturday
and
9
on
Sunday,
that's
48
cases
in
three
days
in
Harrison,
County,
Hancock
County
had
no
new
cases
in
the
past
24
hours
and
two
over
the
weekend.
Jackson
County
had
11
new
cases
in
the
past
24
hours
and
six
on
Saturday
and
six
on
Sunday.
The
numbers
are
headed
in
the
wrong
direction
in
Harrison
County.
Let's
take
a
moment
to
review
how
we
got
where
we
are.
We
are
a
city
of
nearly
50,000
residents
and
we
have
millions
of
visitors
each
year
to
Biloxi
and
the
Sippi
Gulf
Coast.
A
Since
we
are
so
heavily
reliant
on
tourism,
we
have
worked
hard
to
be
transparent
and
prudent
and
everything
we
have
done
from
a
public
health
standpoint.
The
city
mailed
out
guidelines
to
everyone
in
Biloxi
residents
and
businesses,
so
that
everyone
would
know
what
was
expected
when
the
green
light
was
given
to
reopen
doors.
Mayor
Gillick
met
with
different
segments
of
our
economy
before
they
opened
for
business,
hair,
salons
and
barbershops
restaurants,
retail
churches,
civic
and
fraternal
organizations
and
even
day
camps.
But
much
of
this
goes
back
to
personal
responsibility
on
behalf
of
business
operators.
A
As
well
as
customers
wear
a
mask
social
distance,
if
you're
not
feeling
well
or
sick
or
if
you're
vulnerable,
don't
leave
the
house
handle
business
by
phone
or
online
and
use
curbside
when
those
options
are
available.
If
you
don't
remember
the
guidelines,
so
you
can
find
them
online
at
Biloxi,
MS
us
or
you
can
pick
up
a
copy
of
Biloxi
City
Hall,
it's
on
140,
Lemieux,
Street,
more
and
more
businesses
are
expanding
hours
and
more
and
more
special
events
are
taking
place.
We
say
proceed
cautiously.
Is
it
safe?
A
You
asked
for
the
record
the
corona
virus
spreads
by
contact.
It
spreads
typically
from
person
to
person
anytime
you're
in
a
large
crowd
of
people.
The
chance
for
transmission
of
the
virus
is
increased.
Up
to
this
point,
we've
been
successful
in
keeping
our
numbers
down,
but
the
challenge
is
for
people,
business
owners,
customers,
visitors
and
residents
to
remain
vigilant
in
your
efforts
to
do
the
things
that
you're
being
asked
to
do.
A
People
need
to
know
when
they
come
into
our
community
or
when
they
come
into
your
business,
that
we
are
providing
a
safe
environment
here
in
and
frankly,
that's
up
to
all
of
us.
We
leave
you
today
with
an
important
reminder
from
the
nation's
foremost
public
health
authorities.
Our
plan
right
now
is
to
see
you
again
Friday
for
another
be
prepared
segment.
Thank
you.
