A
Hello,
I'm
Vincent
Creole
public
affairs
manager
for
the
city
of
Biloxi
I'm
here
to
deliver
today's
be
prepared
report.
This
is
being
recorded
on
Sunday
April
26
2020
at
1:30.
In
the
afternoon
the
Mississippi
State
Department
of
Health
has
issued
its
latest
numbers
from
coronavirus
testing
statewide.
There
have
been
193
new
positive
tests
in
the
past
24
hours,
the
statewide
total,
since
all
this
began
is
just
shy
of
6,000
cases
and
227
deaths
statewide,
including
six.
In
the
past
24
hours
in
Harrison
County.
There
were
no
positive
tests
in
the
past
24
hours.
A
You
can
see
the
downward
trajectory
Hancock,
County
and
Jackson
County
each
had
one
new
positive
test.
In
the
past
24
hours,
governor
Reeves
is
safer
at
home.
Executive
order
goes
in
place
Monday
morning.
However,
there
are
no
changes
in
Biloxi
at
this
time.
If
a
business
is
closed,
it
will
remain
closed.
Remember
the
name
of
the
order
safer
at
home.
We
remain
under
a
nightly
curfew
in
Biloxi.
No
one
should
be
on
the
streets
between
11:00
at
night
and
5:00.
In
the
morning.
Mayor
Gillis,
however,
is
aware
of
the
trend
and
the
local
coronavirus
numbers.
A
This
week
he
will
be
meeting
with
more
segments
of
the
Biloxi
economy
to
have
agreement
on
the
responsible
steps
we
can
take
moving
forward.
We
want
to
be
successful
under
the
conditions
we
find
ourselves
mayor,
Gillis
says,
and
he
adds
this
important
point.
The
success
of
the
opening
up
Biloxi
again
plan
is
going
to
depend
on
everyone
doing
their
part.
That's
the
business
community
as
well
as
the
public,
the
mayor's
pleased
with
the
progress
we're
seeing
in
Biloxi,
but
he
does
not
want
to
give
up
ground
through
careless
actions.
A
Monday
morning,
city
employees
will
be
to
work.
The
city
had
implemented
emergency
reduced
staffing
levels
for
the
past
several
weeks.
Protective
measures
for
employees
will
be
in
place
and
will
be
explained
when
they
report
to
work
Monday.
Even
though
city
employees
are
returning
to
work,
non-emergency
city
facilities
remain
closed
to
walk
in
traffic.
Do
business
with
the
city
and
with
everyone
else
by
phone
or
by
email
or
online.
Here
are
just
a
couple
reminders.
Please
continue
to
follow
the
Centers
for
Disease
Control,
guide
lines
of
social
distancing,
wash
your
hands
frequently
and
stay
home.
A
If
you
are
feeling
bad
continue
to
take
those
personal
precautions
and
wear
a
mask
while
in
public
or
near
others,
it's
the
safe
thing
to
do
be
mindful
of
the
surfaces
you
touch
while
out
in
public
and
avoid
touching
your
face,
while
in
public
or
before
washing
your
hands.
That's
the
be
prepared
report
for
today
on
behalf
of
mayor
Gillick
and
members
of
the
Biloxi
City
Council.
We
say
god
bless
you
and
God
bless
Biloxi,
and
why
did
the
great
weather
we've
had
this
weekend?
A
We
leave
you
today
with
a
visit
to
the
West
Biloxi
boardwalk.
We
had
John
West
rate
of
take
two
video
shoot
this
for
us
back
in
2018.
By
the
way
the
city
began
a
project
the
other
day
to
double
the
length
of
the
boardwalk.
It
will
go
from
veterans,
Avenue,
all
the
way
to
Camellia
and
treasure.
Bay,
we'll
have
more
on
that
in
the
future.
We'll
see
you
here
again
tomorrow.
