traffic

roadways,
mayor
gillich
had
an
important
visitor
at
city
hall.
This
week,
brad
white,
who
in
july
was
named
the
director
of
the
mississippi
department
of
transportation
dropped
by
city
hall
for
an
update
from
the
mayor
said
the
mayor,
we're
very
appreciative
of
brad
white's
leadership
and
the
things
we've
already
been
able
to
do
on
highway
90..

And
now
for
the
latest,
on
the
coronavirus,
as
of
thursday
october,
the
21st,
the
health
department
reports
more
than
400
new
cases
of
the
virus
statewide
in
a
24-hour
period.
The
state
also
reports
nine
deaths
in
harrison
county
31,
new
coven
19
cases
were
reported
on
thursday
and
one
new
death.
Overall,
more
than
a
half
a
million
cases
of
the
virus
have
been
reported
throughout
mississippi.
Since
the
pandemic
began.
19
months
ago,
statewide
nearly
10
000
mississippians
have
died
from
covet
19.

harrison
county.
More
than
34
000
cases
of
the
virus
have
been
reported
with
538
deaths
at
the
hospitals.
We
continue
to
see
a
downward
trend
of
covet
hospitalizations,
but
people
are
still
being
emitted
with
the
virus.
As
of
monday
october,
the
18th
nearly
300
people
were
in
mississippi
hospitals
with
covet
19.

101
of
those
were
intensive
care
units
along
the
coast.
20
people
were
hospitalized
with
the
virus
and
eight
of
those
were
intensive
care
units
as
from
mississippi's
low
vaccination
rate.
As
of
thursday
october,
the
21st
43
percent
of
the
population
is
fully
vaccinated
as
for
harrison
county
still,
only
39
percent
of
the
residents
are
fully
vaccinated.

halloween
is
just
around
the
corner,
so
the
biloxi
parks
and
recreation
department
is
hosting
its
second
annual
halloween
on
howard.
It's
a
drive-through,
trick-or-treating
event
that
takes
place
on
saturday
from
5
to
6
30
in
the
evening.
The
free
event
will
travel
along
howard
from
mlk
boulevard,
just
east
of
main
street,
to
porter
avenue.
Participants
are
asked
to
stay
in
their
vehicles
while
trick-or-treating.
