A
Christmas
is
a
little
over
a
week
away
and
there
are
a
lot
of
celebrations
taking
place
throughout
the
city
this
weekend.
We'll
tell
you
how
you
can
get
involved.
Biloxi's
drinking
water
is
safe,
but
customers
living
south
of
the
bay
recently
experienced
a
ball
water
notice.
We'll
tell
you
what
happened
and
how
customers
were
notified
and
or
take
a
look
back
at
the
wool
market,
Christmas
parade,
but
first
we
begin
with
a
Holiday
Affair
taking
place
this
weekend
at
the
Biloxi
Visitor
Center
joining
me
now
is
Erica
from
the
Biloxi
Visitor
Center.
A
B
Is
we
have
our
holiday
open
house
this
weekend,
it's
from
9
A.M,
until
4
P.M,
we
have
vendors,
we
have
Santa
coming
Santa
will
be
there
actually
from
10
a.m
until
4
a.m,
I
mean
4
P.M
on
Saturday
and
then
on
Sunday
he'll,
be
there
10
a.m.
To
about
one
two-ish,
we
believe,
but
we
have
kid
crafts.
So
there
will
be
fun
things
for
kids
to
do
there.
They
get
a
free
picture
with
Santa.
We
have
lots
of
vendors
there
that
are
going
to
be
selling
all
of
their
homemade
crafts.
B
A
B
Is
free
to
attend,
of
course,
we're
going
to
have
door
prizes,
we're
going
to
have
drawings
that
kind
of
thing,
and
then
we
do
have
food
vendors
that
are
going
to
be
there
all
also,
so
you
can
grab
lunch
while
you're
there,
but
the
attend
attending
is
free,
so
there
is
no
cost
for
the
admission
to
be
able
to
come.
Pictures
with
the
same
with
Santa
are
free
as
well,
so
there's
no
cost
for.
A
A
B
B
A
A
For
nearly
a
week,
Biloxi
water
customers
living
south
of
the
bay
were
put
under
a
bowl
water
notice
by
the
Mississippi
State
Department
of
Health.
The
boil
water
notice
was
put
into
effect
on
Friday
December,
the
9th
and
lifted
on
Wednesday
December,
the
14th.
So
what
happened?
Well,
a
random
water
sample
showed
environmental
bacteria
coliform
and
a
water
line
last
week
which
prompted
the
testing
of
water
wells.
One
sample
at
the
Bradford
Street
water
well
showed
the
presence
of
E
coli.
The
Mississippi
State
Department
of
Health
then
issued
a
boil
water
notice.
A
Follow-Up
tests
showed
no
presence
of
E
coli
in
the
water
well
or
in
the
drinking
water.
So
why
did
it
take
about
a
week
to
lift
the
boil
water
notice?
Well,
two
consecutive
clear
test
samples
are
needed
to
lift
the
bowl
water
alert.
Testing
samples
consists
of
at
least
30
random
samples
taken
on
two
consecutive
days.
Tests
were
done
on
Friday
and
Saturday,
which
each
day
one
of
the
30
samples
showed
a
presence
of
an
environmental
bacteria
called
coliform.
Follow-Up
tests
were
done
on
Monday
and
Tuesday,
which
showed
no
presence
of
the
bacteria.
A
The
notice
was
then
lifted.
So
how
did
the
city
notify
customers?
Well?
Information
was
put
out
on
the
Cindy's
website
through
email
and
through
be
alert.
The
city's
on
the
go
text
messaging
system
information
was
also
sent
to
local
media
daily.
The
city
continues
to
maintain
a
safe
quality
drinking
water
supply.
In
fact,
chlorine
levels
are
checked
daily
at
the
city,
water
wells,
chlorine
is
added
to
drinking
water
by
the
way
to
disinfect
and
kill
disease-causing
bacteria
levels.
