The
Insider's
Guide
to
what's
happening
in
Biloxi.
This
is
being
recorded
for
Friday
June
23
2023,
scraping
The
Coasters
this
weekend,
we'll
have
some
safety
advice
from
the
Biloxi
Police
Department.
The
events
ordinances
continue
to
be
discussed.
We'll
tell
you
the
latest
on
the
proposed
changes,
we'll
also
take
a
look
at
the
weekend
forecast
and
other
events
taking
place
in
Biloxi
over
the
weekend.
We
begin
with
this
joining
me
now
is
Captain
Grammer
Everett
with
the
Biloxi
Police
Department
thanks
for
joining
us
today.
A
My
pleasure,
yeah
I,
know
you're,
always
busy,
there's
always
something
going
on
in
the
police
department.
But
this
weekend
we
have
a
big
event
scraping
the
coast.
So
there's
a
lot
going
on
that
people
need
to
know
about.
Of
course,
there's
going
to
be
a
lot
of
people
going
on
traveling
along
Highway
90.
spectating,
along
Highway
90.
What
are
some
important
things
that
people
need
to
know.
B
To
safety,
we
want
to
remind
everybody
to
be
safe.
Any
big
events
like
this.
You
see
an
increase
in
vehicle
traffic,
pedestrian
traffic
and
you're
going
to
have
that
group.
That
is
just
annoyed
that
don't
want
to
be.
There
want
to
get
out
of
traffic,
so
they're
going
to
be
in
a
hurry,
trying
to
get
to
where
they're
trying
to
go,
or
at
least
try
to
get
out
of
traffic.
So
we
just
want
to
preach
safety,
safety,
safety.
A
B
We
have
we
take
any
available
resource
and
we
put
it
out
out
there
along
Highway
90..
It
does
a
couple
things
for
us
one.
It
gives
us
an
opportunity
to
kind
of
override
any
type
of
traffic
lights
or
Implement
other
strategies,
that's
needed
to
kind
of
help
the
flow
of
traffic,
but
at
the
same
time,
if
something
should
come
up
and
we
have
to
deal
with
it,
it
gives
us
officers
there
to
kind
of
deal
with
those
problems
as
we
need
to
and.
B
Well,
it
look
is
growing
yeah,
it
started
out.
I
can
remember
many
years
ago.
It
was.
It
was
kind
of
like
your
average
event.
You
know
it
wasn't
too
big,
wasn't
too
small,
but
as
the
years
pass,
it's
just
growing
and
growing,
and
so
it's
just
one
of
those
things
where
people
want
to
come
out,
especially
for
past
covert
a
little
bit,
and
they
want
to
start
back
enjoying
themselves,
and
we
expect
this
one
to
be
bigger
than
it
was
last
year.
So
and.
A
B
B
So
if
we
get
to
a
point
where
we
have
to
implement
it
and
traffic's
at
a
standstill
and
we
we
need
to
allow
emergency
responders
to
be
able
to
get
to
and
from
places
that
need
to
go
in
the
midst
of
you
know
the
event
and
people
starting
to
enjoy
themselves.
We
still
have
to
provide
a
service
to
our
residents
or
any
other
visitors
that
are
in
need,
whether
it's
medical,
wise
or
whether
they
need
law
enforcement.
B
Well,
we
want
our
Spectators
one
to
stay
out
of
the
road.
Again
we
back
to
this.
This
whole
safety
element
stay
out
of
the
road.
We
don't
want
people
encouraging
burnouts
or
doing
anything
like
that.
We've
seen
in
years
past
people
want
to
get
close
to
the
highway
and
get
those
great
shots
or
great
photos,
and
we
don't
want
anything
like
that.
At
any
moment,
you
could
have
some
type
of
mishap
with
a
vehicle
which
would
directly
put
them
in
danger.
A
So
they
need
to
cross
that
light
of
the
intersections
and,
of
course,
obey
police
that
are
out
there,
of
course,
because
you're
out
there
again
to
make
sure
that
they're,
safe
right.
B
B
If
we
get
to
where
we're
going
to
have
to
force
traffic
or
take
over
traffic
they're
going
to
be
in
flashing
mode,
so
use
Extreme
Caution
when
we
go
into
flashing
mode,
especially
for
those
pedestrians
who
run
across
the
street,
some
cars
or
drivers
or
cars
may
be
watching
one
thing
or
another,
not
necessarily
them
so
just
be
cautious.
Anything.
B
Well,
I
will
say
that
as
we
gear
for
this,
we've
had
increased
support
from
our
partners
in
law
enforcement.
This
year
we're
going
to
bring
in
resources
from
the
state
we
have
Mississippi
Highway
Patrol.
It's
going
to
be
coming
out
to
help
us
the
Mississippi
Department
of
Transportation.
Of
course,
we
have
deputies
from
Harris,
County
Sheriff's
department,
and
we
have
some
other
agencies
that
are
going
to
come
down
so
you're
going
to
see
a
lot
more
people
out
there.
B
A
All
right:
well,
as
you
heard,
Captain
Everett
said
it
suspected
to
be
a
big
event.
You
know,
want
everybody
to
come
out
and
have
fun.
Of
course
you
know
Biloxi,
we
have
great
beaches,
we
have
great
entertainment,
so
we
just
want
everybody
to
be
safe
and
enjoy
a
great
scraping.
