terms
of
office

craft

municipal
budget.

to
cover
fiscal
year,
2022,
which
begins
october
1st.

the
first
budget
session,
which
was
held
this
week
looked
at
revenue
projections
mayor
gillich,
reported
that
gaming
revenue
was
forecast
to
reach
20.3
million
dollars.
That's
a
15
increase
over
the
17.5
million
projected
a
year
ago.
The
tax
on
gaming
revenue
is
the
city's
largest
revenue
stream.
It's
followed
by
sales
taxes
at
12.5
million
and
property
taxes,
which
are
expected
to
generate
7.8
million
by
the
end
of
this
fiscal
year.
The
mayor
is
projecting
that
the
city
will
have
67.7
million
dollars
to
operate
in
the
coming
fiscal
year.

Here's
a
schedule
of
the
budget
meetings
which
will
be
at
city
hall
and
are
open
to
the
public
on
tuesday.
The
city
council
is
also
expected
to
decide
the
fate
of
the
city's
chief,
administrative
officer,
police
and
fire
chiefs
and
other
departmental
directors
at
their
first
meeting
of
the
term
council
members.

july

As
on
thursday
july,
the
15th,
the
mississippi
state
department
of
health
reports,
557
new
cases,
the
coronavirus,
statewide
and
four
new
jets
statewide
in
harrison
county
44,
new
coveted
19
cases
were
reported
and
one
new
death.
Overall,
more
than
326
thousand
cases
of
covet
19
have
been
reported
statewide
with
more
than
7
400
deaths
in
harrison
county.
Nearly
19
000
cases
have
been
reported
with
322
deaths.

Coronavirus
cases
in
mississippi
have
been
on
the
uptick
lately,
while
daily
vaccination
rates
have
been
on
the
decline.
In
fact,
mississippi
has
one
of
the
lowest
cova
19
vaccination
rates
in
the
nation,
with
only
34
percent
of
mississippians
being
fully
vaccinated.
According
to
the
state
department
in
harrison
county,
only
29
of
residents
are
fully
vaccinated.
