From YouTube: Biloxi Covid 19 Update 7 24 2020
Description
The increasing numbers; Opening Up Biloxi Again guidelines; Salvation Army; other news and notes; hurricane preparedness
A
Hello,
my
name
is
cecilia
dobbs
walton
and
I'm
the
city's
public
affairs
specialist
I'm
here
to
deliver
today's
be
prepared
report.
This
is
being
recorded
on
friday
july,
the
24th
2020
at
two
in
the
afternoon
today,
the
mississippi
state
department
of
health
reports
that
in
the
past
24
hours,
1
hundred
and
ten
new
cases
of
the
coronavirus
were
identified
and
in
the
four
days
since
monday,
we
have
seen
five
thousand
seven
hundred
and
seventy
four
cases
reported.
A
A
A
A
Think
about
that
when
you
see
1
000
cases
reported
a
day
in
mississippi,
you
can
expect
170
of
those
turning
into
hospitalizations.
The
health
care
industry
cannot
adequately
sustain
those
numbers.
This
is
why
it
is
so
important
for
you
to
take
the
precautions
wash
those
hands
avoid
crowds
and
when
you
must
go
in
public,
wear
a
mask.
It's
not
just
about
you,
nor
is
it
supposed
to
be
an
infringement
on
your
rights.
A
A
Leave
that
business
support
those
who
are
doing
the
safe
thing,
not
sure
of
the
guidelines,
visit,
biloxi.net.us
and
click
on
covid19
on
the
top
center
of
the
website.
The
opening
of
biloxi
again
guidelines
cover
restaurants,
bars,
retail
museums,
barbershops,
hair
and
nail
salons
churches,
gyms
and
fitness
facilities,
medical
dentists
and
health
care
services,
tattoo
and
massage
services,
hotels,
summer
and
day
camps,
dance
studios,
fraternal
organizations
and
private
clubs.
Please
read
over
these
guidelines.
Learn
them
follow
them
as
an
employee,
a
business
owner
or
as
a
customer.
C
B
C
We're
delivering
to
the
seniors
and
we've
actually
had
the
parents
drive
up
and
pick
up
the
meals
for
the
children
right
in
front
of
the
croc
center,
so
there's
no
having
to
come
in
and
out,
they
can
get
them
right.
There
delivered
to
their
car,
put
in
the
trunk,
no
contact
very
safe
and
easy.
You
do
this
daily.
They
are.
We've
served
over
6,
000
meals.
Now,
since
march.
B
C
It's
a
societal
shift.
We
are
providing
services
outside
of
most
of
our
facilities
because
of
contact
risk,
but
we
have
provided
almost
2
000
food
boxes
to
folks
coming
up
meeting
and
they
make
an
appointment
come
receive
their
food
box.
We
have
also
been
providing
the
ongoing
shower
and
laundry
service
at
gulfport
outreach.
People
are
coming
in
one
by
one
and
getting
their
services
there
and
very
thankful
for
it.
A
B
C
With
weights
and
fitness
classes
and
instructors
on
site,
we
have
aqua
aerobics,
as
well
as
on
ground
aerobics,
the
swimming
pool.
We
have
a
swimming
pool,
that's
just
just
been
re-outfitted
with
new
fixtures
and
features,
so
the
kids
will
have
an
exciting
time
there
and,
of
course,
aqua
aerobics
also
take
place
there.
Everyone
has
been
asked
to
wear
a
mask
inside
basketball.
Court.
Basketball
court
is
still
up
and
running
they're,
not
having
contact
games,
but
all
other
kinds
of
competition
and
fitness
are
taking
place
there
huge
walking
track
outside
of
the
crocs.
We.
C
C
B
C
A
community
gathering
place
and
we've
had
a
number
of
groups
gathered
there
for
classes
for
fellowship.
Our
our
church
group
meets
there
for
bible
study
and
for
women's
fellowship
and
again
under
very
productive
conditions,
but
it's
a
wonderful
place.
They
can
gather-
and
it's
very.
B
B
C
And
this
is
our
attempt
to
raise
funds
without
the
kettle
on
on
on
the
street.
So
there'll
be
some
virtual,
giving
we'll
be
asking
folks
to
participate
in
tomorrow
at
give.salvationarmyalm.org.
C
The
the
live
broadcasting,
we
hope,
will
start
at
six
o'clock,
we're
still
negotiating
with
the
reporter
shift
a
change
in
personnel
there
at
the
station.
So
we're
waiting
to
hear
from
morgan
our
pr
director.
B
A
B
C
B
C
B
B
Okay,
I
want
to
make
one
more
request
sure
that
you
close
our
segment
today,
major
bradley
caldwell,
with
a
prayer.
I.
C
Certainly,
will
lord,
we
are
thankful
for
your
love
and
care.
We
know
this
world
is
a
place
where
passing
through
it's
not
where
we're
meant
to
find
our
ultimate
happiness,
and
so
we
live
in
contentment
and
peace.
As
you
take
us
through
these
challenging
days
together,
I
pray
you
help
us
as
a
community
to
lift
each
other
up
and
help
each
other
forward,
and
I
appreciate
the
way
that
people
bless
the
salvation
army
and
enable
us
to
provide
those
extra
special
needed
services
of
ministry
and
of
care
in
your
great
name.
