A
Hello,
my
name
is
Vincent
creel
public
affairs
manager
for
the
city
of
Biloxi.
This
is
today's
be
prepared
report.
It
is
being
recorded
on
Friday,
June
5th
2020
at
2:00
p.m.
it's
a
beautiful
clear
day
in
Biloxi,
but
it's
expected
to
be
a
wet
weekend.
We'll
have
more
on
that
in
a
minute.
First,
the
numbers
today,
the
Mississippi
State
Department
of
Health
reports
that
209
new
cases
of
the
corona
virus
were
identified
in
the
past
24
hours
throughout
the
state.
There
have
also
been
9
deaths,
statewide
attributed
to
the
corona
virus.
A
Since
yesterday
this
brings
the
total
numbers
to
16,000
769
since
day
one
and
803
deaths.
This
chart
shows
you
the
total
numbers
since
day.
One
and
this
chart
shows
you
the
total
number
of
new
cases
throughout
the
state.
Over
the
current
14
day
period,
no
new
cases
of
the
corona
virus
were
reported
in
Harrison,
Jackson
or
Hancock
County
in
the
past
24
hours,
and
there
were
no
new
deaths.
This
chart
shows
you
the
14
day,
look
and
the
trend
in
Harrison
County.
Please
do
not
become
complacent.
A
Please
be
vigilant
and
practicing
social
distancing,
avoiding
crowds
and
yes
wearing
a
mask
when
you
are
near
others,
wash
your
hands
frequently.
Now,
let's
talk
about
the
storm,
here's
the
map,
showing
the
projected
path
and
timeline
joining
me
now
is
Nick
geyser,
a
deputy
chief
in
the
Biloxi
Fire
Department
and
you're,
the
deputy
chief
of
training
and
emergency
management.
Yes,
sir,
how
do
you
pronounce
the
name
of
this
storm?
A
B
They're
projecting
the
pack
to
go
west
of
New
Orleans,
which
means
it
will
be
on
the
east
side
of
the
storm
and
that
worse
north,
the
northeast
quadrant
of
the
storm,
which
means
we
get
the
southern
southern
winds.
All
the
rain
is
typically
on
that
side
not
to
alarm
anybody.
We're
not
expecting
a
hurricane
strength,
storm
making
landfall,
but
it
does
mean
that
we
need
to
be
prepared
for
heavy
rains,
possibly
some
winds
and
gusts
of
winds
that
reach
up
into
your
67
mile,
an
hour
gusts
but
below
hurrican,
definitely
below
in
hurricane.
B
Sustained
winds
are
not
expected
to
be
anything
above,
say,
50
miles
an
hour,
but
with
ground
saturation,
the
tides
all
depending
on
where
they
hit
and
the
landfall
and
what
storms
are
being
pushed
in.
We
could
experience
some
low-lying
areas,
heavy
flooding.
We
could
experience
some
downed
trees
which
may
take
out
power
lines,
so
isolated
areas
of
power
outages.
It
really
all
depends
on
what
it
throws
at
us
on
those
outer
bands
that
come
in,
but.
A
B
B
B
A
B
B
A
B
Sir,
none
that
I
own,
but
usually
there
are
plenty
of
videos
out
there
that
you
can
see
a
mill
they'll
take
off
like
a
sail
again.
My
name
is
deputy
chief
Nick
Gaza
I'm
with
the
fire
department,
also
the
city
emergency
manager.
If
you
would
like
to
email
me,
my
email
is
in
as
a
nick
Gossard
gei
ser
at
Biloxi
MS
us.
Thank
you
joining.
A
D
Yes,
we
are
very
much
our
first
in-person
services.
We
hope.
Why
did
you
wait
so
long?
Well,
several
reasons.
First
of
all,
we
have
weaved
throughout
from
day
one.
We
have
wanted
to
abide
by
the
guidelines
that
the
CDC,
the
governor,
the
city,
have
have
a
system
got
to
abide
by,
and
so
we
we
felt
like
we
didn't,
want
to
put
anybody
in
danger
and
we
felt
like
you
know
what,
let's,
let's
we're
one
of
the
biggest
reasons
is
we
really
felt
like
we
were
being
effective
online?
We.
D
D
A
D
A
D
So
we're
providing
three
services
this
weekend
and
and
there'll
be
a
Saturday
night
at
6:00
and
then
Sunday
morning,
8:30
and
11:30.
So
we
just
ask
people
go
online
register
for
the
service
we
have
available
for
folks
what
we
call
a
no
contact
area,
because
we
know
people
because
of
their
work
or
because
they
themselves
are
immunocompromised
or
they
have
a
family
member.
That's
very
immunocompromised.
D
B
D
Available
for
folks
to
check
they
have
if
they
can
come
thirty
minutes
early,
they
can
check
they,
they
get
there
before
the
crowd.
Does
they
have
their
own
area
where
they,
where
they
sit,
and
so,
but
you
know,
we
have
folks
register
so
to
know
which
service
they're
coming
to
right
now,
there's
no
children
or
child
care
of
children's
ministry
for
obvious
reasons,
so
the
service
itself
will
have
an
element.
That's
designed
for
the
kids
and
I
have
a
great
staff
and
we
just
sit
down
and
talk
about
what
are
all
the
possibilities.
D
A
D
714
that's
started
his
face
insane
Chronicles
7:14,
which
says
if
my
people,
who
are
called
by
my
name,
will
humble
themselves
and
pray
and
seek
my
face
and
turn
from
their
wicked
ways.
I'll
hear
from
heaven
forgive
their
sins
and
heal
their
land.
So
this
was
a
huge
movement.
Probably
a
hundred
million
Christians
across
the
planet
have
been
praying
7:14
in
the
morning
714
evening,
so
we
started
doing
that.
D
D
C
D
Excited
about
that
so,
regardless
of
whether
we
can
meet
in
person
this
week,
our
online
ministry
is
just
going
to
continue
and
you
know
it's
part
of
living
on
the
Gulf
Coast
in
you
know
you
just
take
the
blow
and
you
keep
going
that's.
Does
you
do.
D
And
I'll
tell
you
what
crisis
prepared
you
for
more
crisis
and
you
know
I
think
the
fact
that
we
went
through
Katrina
uniquely
prepared
us
for
what
we've
had
to
deal
with
with
coronavirus.
And
you
know
all
of
these
things
that
have
taken
place
have
been.
They
had
an
impact
on
us.
But
when
we
look
back
in
some
ways
we
were
stronger,
you
know
after
we
came
through
Katrina
were
actually
stronger,
sure
you're
stronger
as
a
community
and
and
really
you
know,
I
mean
that's
biblical.
B
D
D
Develops
that
muscle
you
know
this
and
then
that
strength
of
character-
and
you
know
for
the
way
we
recovered
I
know
you
saw
this
Vincent
being
here.
You
know
I
watched
after
Katrina
nobody's
sitting
around
waiting
for
somebody
to
become
taken
care
of
them.
People
got
up
and
started
cleaning
their
yards
and
start
helping
their
neighbors
and.
D
We
did
see
some
of
the
worse
than
people,
but
much
more
than
that.
We
saw
the
best
library
and,
and
so
I
think,
we've
seen
the
same
thing
here
and
though
how
we
deal
with
a
coronavirus
that
people
have
been
you
know
have
have
have
have
felt
light.
You
know
what
we're
going
to
get
through
this
and
then
the
end
result
we're
going
to
be
better
off
as
a
result
of
it.
Okay,.
A
D
I
think,
first
of
all,
the
number
one
message
that
God
is
sending
is
I.
Want
you
to
slow
down
and
really
listen
to
me.
I
think
one
of
the
things
that's
happened
is
is
that
people
have
because
of
the
the
last
three
months,
three
or
three
going
on
three
and
a
half
months
now
of
coronavirus,
we've
been
in
our
homes,
we've
been
just
basically
alone
with
ourselves
and
hopefully
alone
with
God
them.
D
B
D
Sometimes
we
can
cover
up
things
that
we
really
need
to
look
inside
and
deal
with
and
I
think
this
has
caused
us
to
do
that.
I
think
that
families
have
grown
closer
as
a
result
of
this
families
eating
together,
one
Sunday.
We
were
not
able
to
partake
of
communion
at
our
church
because
of
obvious
obvious
reasons
we
weren't
even
together,
but
we
said:
hey,
let's
receive
Communion
at
home
and
we
asked
people
to
take
social
media
pictures
and
when
I
looked
at
people
in
their
homes
with
the.
D
D
C
D
D
C
D
A
I'd
love
to
thank
you
thanks.
We've
covered
a
lot
of
ground
today
and
we
appreciate
you
staying
tuned,
we'll
be
back
on
Monday
with
another
be
prepared
report,
but
before
we
go,
we
also
want
to
recommend
one
final
thing
to
you:
we
have
a
texting
service
with
the
city
of
Biloxi,
where
we
send
out
text
alerts
about
traffic
and
on
occasion,
whether
it's
called
be
alert
and
with
that
you
please
take
a
few
seconds
to
sign
up
for
this
free
service.
A
Yesterday
we
had
text
alerts
about
a
traffic
accident
tying
up
traffic
on
the
Popp's
Ferry
Bridge,
and
we
had
another
about
a
tractor-trailer
hung
up
on
the
Main
Street
crossing.
It
really
is
info
on
the
go
to
get
these
text
messages.
All
you
have
to
do
is
on
your
cell
phone
text,
biloxi
to
888
777,
that's
be
I
LXi,
two,
eight
eight,
eight
seven,
seven
seven!
You
see
a
lot
of
clutter
these
days
on
facebook,
twitter
and
in
all
social
media.
A
This
is
a
simple
service,
no
apps
no
fee,
and
it
will
be
official
communications
from
the
city
of
Biloxi.
We
leave
you
today
with
something
that
we
haven't
shown
you
before
here
today.
June
6,
20
20

second
