A
This
is
being
recorded
on
monday
august
31st
2020
at
one
in
the
afternoon
today,
the
mississippi
state
department
of
health
reports
that
in
the
past
24
hours,
274
new
cases
of
the
chronovice
were
identified
and
over
the
weekend,
1
382
new
cases
were
reported.
That's
735
cases
on
saturday
and
647
cases
on
sunday.
A
A
A
A
Typically,
first
responders
are
caring
for
their
community
non-stop
in
the
wake
of
a
disaster.
They
do
not
have
time
to
take
care
of
their
own
homes.
That's
where
the
biloxi
fire
museum
volunteers
come
in,
they
clear
debris
from
homes
and
yards
of
first
responders.
They
make
repairs.
They
make
sure
that
a
home
is
welcoming
to
the
worn
out
first
responder,
when
they
finally
are
able
to
go
home.
We
are
asking
you
to
please
consider
making
a
secure
online
contribution
to
the
fire
museum
volunteers.
A
A
And
finally,
we
remind
you
that
the
threat
of
the
coronavirus
is
still
real
and
continuing
limit
travel
when
you
can
avoid
gatherings
stay
home.
If
you
feel
sick,
wash
your
hands
often
and
mask
up
biloxi.
Remember
many
businesses
offer
takeout
delivery
and
curbside
pickup,
as
well
as
online
shopping.
A
We
leave
you
today
with
a
video
created
on
saturday,
the
15th
anniversary
of
hurricane
katrina,
where
governor
reece
and
mayor
gillis
mark
the
anniversary
by
placing
a
wreath
at
the
katrina
memorial.
The
memorial
by
the
way,
stands
twelve
feet
tall
and
equals
the
death
of
the
storm
surge
in
that
section
of
biloxi.
Despite
the
wave
action,
and
it
includes
the
names
of
the
victims,
the
memorial
is
located
on
the
northeast
section
of
the
biloxi
town.

Thank
you
like
to
welcome
those
of
you
who
are
watching
this
through
our
live
stream.
We're
going
to
have
mayor
gillich,
bring
remarks
followed
by
governor
reeves,
and
then
we
will
place
the
wreath
at
the
katrina
memorial
now
please
welcome
mayor
andrew
fofo
gillage,
who,
at
the
conclusion
of
his
remarks,
will
introduce
the
governor.
Thank
you.
E
E
E
I
can
assure
you
and
them
that
we'll
pay
back
the
support
they
provided
to
us
15
years
ago,
and
we
will
we're
still
recovering
and
we
will
help
them
do
the
same.
It's
hard
to
describe
katrina's
impact
to
biloxi
our
coast
and
our
state
katrina
changed
all
the
entire
process
of
our
lives
and
business.
E
E
Let's
express
our
deeper
appreciation
to
everyone
who
has
helped
and
continues
to
help
our
biloxi
our
coast
and
its
recovery.
Let
me
say
we
were
extremely
fortunate
to
have
governor
haley
barbour
at
the
helm
of
our
great
state.
At
that
time,
all
the
leaders
in
the
state,
federal
and
every
level
mima
fema
all
responded
to
our
crowd
for
help.
E
E
F
F
I
have
spoken
with
both
governor
john
bel
edwards
over
the
last
several
days
and
offered
a
tremendous
support
to
him
as
well
as
governor
abbott
in
texas,
and
offered
them
anything
that
we
can
possibly
do
for
them,
because
those
of
us
in
mississippi-
and
particularly
those
of
us
on
the
mississippi
gulf
coast,
know
what
it
means
for
your
friends
and
your
neighbors
to
step
up
and
help
in
your
time
of
need.
But
we
have
people
all
over.
F
The
country
do
just
that
on
august,
29,
2005
and
the
days
in
the
weeks
and
the
months
that
followed-
and
I
will
never
forget
our
fellow
americans
going
above
and
beyond-
to
help
us
and
at
any
time
that
there
is
a
need
for
help,
whether
it's
from
a
hurricane
or
some
other
natural
disaster.
I
know
in
my
heart
the
mississippians
will
step
up,
and
I
know
we've
already
started
doing
that
and
will
continue
to
do
so.
F
How
proud
I
am
to
have
friends
on
the
mississippi
gulf
coast
like
the
mayor
and
so
many
others,
like
the
representative
and
so
many
others,
because
I
have
seen
what
you
have
done
with
your
community
and
we
know
that
the
best
is
yet
to
come.
So,
let's
remember
the
past,
let's
honor
those
who
suffered
through
it
and
let's
look
to
the
future,
because
it
is
that
future
that
is
so
bright
because
of
the
resiliency
of
our
people.
