A
Hello,
I'm
Vincent
Creole
public
affairs
manager
for
the
city
of
Biloxi
I'm
here
to
deliver
today's
be
prepared
report.
This
is
being
recorded
on
Saturday
April,
25
2020
just
before
2:00.
In
the
afternoon
the
Mississippi
State
Department
of
Health
today
issued
its
latest
numbers
involving
the
coronavirus
statewide.
Since
all
of
this
began
there
have
been
now
5,000,
718,
positives
and
221
deaths.
You
can
see
this
chart
shows
you
the
progression
since
day
one,
but
among
the
things
the
mayor's
looking
at
are
the
daily
totals.
A
In
the
past
24
hours,
there
have
been
284
new
positives
of
the
coronavirus
statewide.
As
you
can
see
in
the
chart,
there
were
281
new
cases
statewide
yesterday
and
259
cases
statewide
the
day
before
that
the
daily
number
of
new
cases
statewide,
has
increased
3
days
in
a
row.
Now
it's
a
much
different
story
locally.
There
was
one
new
positive
in
Harrison
County
reported
in
the
past
24
hours.
A
There
were
5
the
day
before
that
and
2
the
day
before
that,
in
fact,
on
2
days
this
past
week
there
were
no
new
cases
reported
in
Harrison
County.
In
fact,
you
can
see
a
downward
trajectory
over
the
past
12
days
in
Jackson
County,
two
new
positives
were
reported
in
the
past
24
hours
and
there
were
3
new
positives
in
Hancock
County
things
do
not
change
in
Biloxi,
with
the
governor's
new
executive
order.
If
businesses
are
closed
now
they
should
remain
closed.
A
The
governor
has
said
that
his
shelter
at
home
and
the
new
safer
at
home
executive
orders
established
the
basic
guidelines
and
it's
up
to
the
mayors
in
the
local
cities,
who
are
empowered
and
authorized
to
do
what's
best
for
their
communities
and
that
could
be
setting
Tiger
operating
standards
and
guidelines.
Mayor
Gillick
this
week
began
the
process
of
meeting
with
members
of
different
sectors
of
our
local
economy.
To
give
them
an
idea
of
what
the
city's
expectations
will
be
in
the
opening
up
Biloxi
again
plan.
A
The
mayor
will
be
unveiling
more
of
the
plan
to
businesses
in
the
next
week
or
so,
certainly
at
the
right
time.
You
have
to
remember
the
governor
did
not
relaxed
standards
for
close-contact
industries
such
as
hair,
salons
or
barber
shops.
They
remain
in
place.
He
said
some
standards,
the
same
standards
for
restaurant
supply,
curbside
to
go
or
delivery
remain
the
rule
of
the
day.
The
bottom
line
for
Biloxi
is
this:
it's
steady
as
she
goes
keep
doing
what
you're
doing
be
vigilant.
What
Biloxi
is
doing
is
working.
We
must
stay
on
track.
A
11,000
people
watch
that
video.
So
we
know
people
are
paying
attention
with
that
for
mayor
Gillick
and
the
members
of
the
City
Council,
we
say,
god
bless
you
and
God
bless
Biloxi.
We
will
see
you
here
again
tomorrow.
We
leave
you
today
with
another
Jim
from
our
public
affairs
archives.
It
was
the
circle
of
life
on
Crawford
Street
in
East
Biloxi
a
few
years
ago,
we'll
see
tomorrow.
