B
Thank
You,
cliff
and
I
would
ask
again
to
let's
thank
the
folks
who
put
this
is
just
doesn't
happen,
everybody
on
these
committees
and
sherry
and
the
police
department.
Everybody
prepared
this
with
this
wonderful
meal.
I
want
to
welcome
everyone
from
the
east
and
the
west
and
the
north.
We
don't
have
a
lot
of
visitors
from
the
south,
but
it's
a
great
honor
to
to
honor
these
folks
sports.
B
It's
been
pretty
much
the
fabric
of
Biloxi,
going
back
a
long
ways,
I've
seen
some
coaches
and
some
some
players
and
some
boxers
and
such
there's
tremendous
honor
for
us
to
to
do
this,
and
you
know
we
welcome
their
families
who
have
supported
them
over
the
years
and,
of
course,
our
Biloxi
special
because
of
these
kinds
of
people
who
have
been
part
of
our
heritage.
Our.
A
D
Bring
us
down
heel
to
toe
family
like
to
start
by
thinking
a
Hall
of
Fame
induction
committee
for
recognizing
mr.
George
for
his
boxing
accomplishments.
He
lived
his
life
and
enjoyed
it
to
the
fullest.
Besides
his
wife
and
children,
boxing
was
his
life.
He
was
a
successful
boxer
in
the
late
40s
and
early
50s,
with
the
boxing
team,
known
as
the
galloping
gales
in
the
st.
Michael's
scrappers,
as
the
media
called
him,
and
one
of
the
articles
I
read,
but
he
was
more
than
just
a
boxer
here
in
Biloxi.
D
He
was
also
known
for
all
of
his
dedication
and
time
spent
with
the
Biloxi
boxing
club,
where
he
was
co-founder.
He
and
a
few
of
his
old
box
and
friends
decided
to
form
the
club
in
November
1969,
where
he
wore
many
caps,
such
as
president
manager,
coach,
etc.
You
could
say
he
raised
a
family
of
seven
seven
children,
but
his
family
was
much
larger
with
all
the
boys
he
managed
and
coached
throughout
his
career
with
the
club,
I
mean
what
can
you
say
he
had
six
daughters
at
home.
D
He
was
the
tournament
chairman
in
1973
and
director
in
75.
At
the
Gulf
States
Boxing
Championship
Tournament,
he
was
heavily
involved
in
the
region,
five
Golden
Gloves
tournament
every
year
that
it
was
held
here.
He
was
also
instrumental
in
bringing
in
the
1973
Junior
Olympic
championship
to
Nichols
I.
D
Think
we
had
one
here,
Wayne
Cup
squad
at
fault,
not
one
and
in
1977
a
senior
AAU
national
championships
at
a
Coast
Coliseum,
which
was
one
of
the
first
major
events
brought
to
the
Coliseum
and
in
83
the
US
vs
Ireland
match,
which
also
held
was
held
at
the
Coast
Coliseum.
As
you
can
see,
he
was
Biloxi's
boxing
I'd
also
like
to
thank
my
mother-in-law,
Miss
Lara
and
cRIO,
for
giving
me
the
honor
accepting
this
award
for
the
family.
Thank
you.
E
F
Hello,
everyone
and
thank
you
for
coming
out.
First
and
foremost,
I
would
like
to
give
all
the
glory
and
thanks
to
God
and
my
Lord
Jesus
Christ
I
would
like
to
thank
my
mother,
Bobby
Hill
and
my
father
Arnall
Hill,
who
is
resting
in
heaven
for
their
unconditional
love
and
support
of
all
my
dreams
and
endeavors
in
life.
F
His
name
is
Robert
Hill
for
the
inspiring
for
inspiring
me
to
play
football
and
teaching
me
all
the
skills
that
I
needed
to
excel
in
the
sport
that
I
love
since
I
was
six
years
old.
That's
it!
There
is
in
the
back
back
there
and
also
a
2016
inductee
himself
letter
Block
C
Hall
of
Fame
I
was
told
long
ago
that
the
race
is
not
given
to
the
quick
nor
the
battle
to
the
strong
nor
yet
favor
to
me
and
of
skill.
But
time
and
chance
happens
to
us
all.
F
F
He
know
he
is
my
faithful
beta
brothers,
Carnell
Travis
and
Frank
bridges,
my
homegirl
for
life.
She
knows
she
is
Tammy
Carney,
my
big,
my
big
brothers
from
Biloxi
Community,
Jerry,
Williams
and
EJ
bill.
They
kind
of
adopted
me,
you
know
trying
to
keep
me.
You
know
focus
but
and
I
like
the
thanks
to
thank
the
Sports
Hall
of
Fame
Committee
in
the
city
of
Biloxi.
East
Biloxi
stand
up.
A
I
think
it
was
a
foregone
conclusion
when
he
was
playing
football
the
day
he
got
the
nickname
thrill
that
he
was
going
to
end
up
here
tonight.
Congratulations
and
I'm
glad
you
mentioned
Jerry
Williams
by
the
way,
I
got
to
say
hello
to
him
tonight,
I've
known
his
family
a
long
time,
a
great
guy
one
of
the
things
that
makes
Biloxi
unique,
of
course,
is
our
our
diversity
and
it's
something
that
we
appreciate
and
celebrate,
and
you
see
it
each
year
when
we
have
these
awards.
A
G
First
I'd
like
to
thank
everyone.
That's
here
that
made
this
event
possible,
make
this
award
possible
for
my
dad,
especially
mr.
Tom
Stanley.
This
doesn't
happen
without
you.
It's
such
an
honor
for
me
to
accept
this
award
on
my
dad's
behalf.
I,
really
believe
that
he's
deserving
of
this
honor.
He
spent
most
of
his
adult
life,
coaching
kids.
G
It
was
his
passion.
He
wanted
every
kid
to
have
everything
they
could
possibly
have
whether
it
was
a
glove
uniform
everything
if
he
had
to
pay
for
it
out
of
his
pocket.
He
did,
but
he
wanted
everybody
to
be
the
same
on
the
ball
field.
He
didn't
want
any
kid
to
go
without
anything
whether
it
was
a
ride
or
whatever.
He
always
took
care
of
every
kid
that
he
coached
boys
back
when
I
played
into
the
girls
to
overdrive,
which
not
just
exploded
and
turned
into
a
huge
organization.
G
He
was
coaching
he'd
take
the
entire
team
everywhere
with
him,
and
that
was
just
something
that
he
was
going
to
do
regardless
and
then
he
kind
of
brought
that
in
with
the
overdrive,
which
turned
out
to
just
be
an
unbelievable
organization,
helped
so
many
of
the
girls
softball
players
move
on
Modell's,
big
part
of
that
and
very
very,
very
proud
to
be
able
to
stand
up
here
and
accept
this
award
on
his
behalf.
Thank
you
very
much.
H
H
H
Without
my
mentors,
I
probably
wouldn't
be
where
I
am
today,
and
this
goes
beyond
sports,
but
the
biggest
thing
that
I
will
say
is
for
me
this
is
truly
a
blessing,
but
I
want
to
thank
the
city
of
Biloxi,
and
the
committee
and
I
also
want
to
congratulate
the
rest
of
the
inductees
for
tonight
over
the
years.
This
is
ironic
that
I'm
here,
where
I
started
my
football
career,
this
very
school
that
spare
spot
is
where
I
went
to
school.
H
That's
at
Central,
Elementary,
School
I
play
peewee
football
in
the
back
back
here
with
Coach
Frison
and
it's
the
way
it
started.
I
was
10
years
old,
I,
look
around
the
room
and
I
said
a
lot
of
faces.
That
I
can
remember.
I
want
to
thank
all
the
coaches
that
I
had
from
peewee
football,
all
the
way
up
to
Jim
Comey
and
in
college,
but
one
coach
that
I
always
admire
what
he
did.
A
lot
of
people
asked
us.
How
did
you
play
for
Coach
lair?
H
H
Kenneth
fairly
and
Darlene
family
I
met
Kenny.
When
I
was
14
years
old
I
played
baseball
down
at
I,
played
Little,
League,
baseball,
9
and
rosanne
apart.
We
called
it
roll
Street
at
the
time
when
I
turned
13
before
that
Pony
League
was
always
at
least
Street.
They
moved
Pony
League
to
West
Biloxi.
At
that
time,
cars
wasn't
a
premium.
We
had
one
vehicle
and
my
dad
uses
that
go
to
work.
So
I
was
couldn't
get
a
ride
down
at
a
play,
so
I
stopped
playing
softball
and
I
met
Kenny
fairly.
H
H
So
Kenneth
Fowler
was
also
coaching
peewee
football
hiko,
peewee,
basketball
me
being
with
Kennedy
family
I
was
coaching
peewee
football
peewee
basketball.
He
works
for
the
city
of
doing
the
maintenance
department.
I
know
darling,
got
tired
of
me
sleeping
on
their
couch.
Getting
there
early
in
the
morning,
cause
Kenneth
will
take
me
to
Krispy
Kreme
when
the
light
come
on.
We
were
gonna,
stop
and
get
those
doughnuts.
H
So
I
want
to
truly
thank
Kenny.
Kenny
has
been
an
inspiration
for
me,
been
to
mentor.
I
also
have
two
very
good
friends
here.
My
previous
boss,
I
worked
at
the
University
of
Southern
Miss
for
twenty
five
and
a
half
years
I
have
both
of
my
boss,
said
Gosselin
and
Mike
Giles.
There
was
my
mentor
professionally.
H
Our
ex
Roger
Smith
we
were
talking
about
he
said
he's
go
I'm
going
in
as
an
athlete
he's
going
in
there
as
an
umpire
I
said
well,
I
could've
did
both
roger
store
laughter
yeah,
because
you
are
my
boss
in
softball,
but
see
it
allowed
me
to
reach
my
goal
in
the
official
arena.
I've
done
everything
from
Division
one
college,
softball
I
even
call
in
a
national
ball,
I've
done
several
Junior
College
World
Series,
all
in
the
sport
of
softball,
all
the
tanks
of
c8
Garson
and
Mike
John.
So
I.
Thank
you
for
that.
H
But
I
want
to
thank
my
family.
This
award
doesn't
go
to
me.
It
goes
to
my
family
because,
with
their
backing
me,
believing
in
me,
they
was
I
was
allowed
to
do
a
lot
of
things.
That
I
would
that
I
was
capable
of
my
father.
I,
don't
ever
think
remember,
throwing
a
football
or
baseball
to
anything
with
my
father.
He
wasn't
that
type
of
man.
My
dad
believed
in
work
cut.
The
grass
get
this
Seidman
out
because
of
him.
I
got
to
education
called
I
would
pour
no
country.
H
H
H
We
was
playing
at
southwestern
Louisiana
over
in
Lafayette.
He
would
pass
Lafayette
come
to
Biloxi
pick.
My
mom
up
drive
her
to
the
ball
game
and
out
to
the
ball
game,
he
would
drive
her
back
and
guilt.
Sunday
mornings
go
back
to
Houston
to
go
to
work,
that's
the
dedication
he
had
for
my
mom
and
for
me
also
without
her.
That's
my
number
one
thing:
what's
my
mom
Laura
rest,
her
soul.
That
was
my
number
one
fan
without
her
pushing
me
and
allowed
me
to
do
things.
H
H
H
H
I
I
If
I
went
back
and
had
to
think
about
all
the
people
that
had
something
to
do
with
I
guess
my
success
over
the
years,
it
would
probably
fill
up
this
room
so
more
than
anything
I
just
wanted
to
say
thank
you
to
each
and
every
one
of
you
that
helped
guide
me
and
mentor
me
along
the
way,
but
more
than
anything,
I
want
to
make
sure
that
I
recognize
my
family
and
friends.
Who've
come
as
far
away
as
Indiana
Illinois
to
be
here
today.
That
was
such
a
blessing
for
me.
I
And
last
but
not
least,
Chris
just
stopped
me
and
he
said:
I'm
Bobo
I'm
sorry
I
took
a
little
bit
of
your
thunder
away
from
you
by
mentioning
Jackie
Laird,
but
I
wanted
to
say
thank
you
to
my
coach
coach,
Jackie
Larry,
because
one
of
the
things
that
I
learned
over
four
years
of
a
basketball
tutelage
under
him
was
that
basketball
was
about
the
game
of
life
and
I've,
not
thought
about
that.
Over
the
years
and
I
said
you
know
what
coach
you're
absolutely
right.
It
was
about
and
it
is
about
the
game
of
life.
I
There
gonna
be
some
turnovers
there,
gonna
be
some
bad
passes.
There's
gonna
be
a
lot
of
things
that
don't
go
your
way,
but
if
you're
gonna
win,
you
have
to
be
persistent
and
patience
and
be
in
it
for
the
long
haul
and
so
coach,
all
of
those
nights
and
all
of
those
nights
riding
home
with
you,
I
sit
back
and
think
about
it.
I
used
to
get
in
your
car
and
you'd
before
you
bring
me
home
and
I'd,
be
like
oh,
my
god,
I
hope
he
doesn't
have
too
much
to
say
tonight.
I
But
you
know
the
great
thing
about
it:
he
was
like
a
father
figure
to
me
and
I
appreciate
everything
he's
done
over
the
years.
Darren
Brandon
miss
Laird
I
apologize
for
taking
up
so
much
of
his
time,
but
again
I
appreciated
everything
he
provided
for
me
over
the
years
and
coach
I
just
want
to
say
to
you.
Thank
you
because
I
am
where
I
am
today,
not
only
because
of
the
love
and
support
of
my
family,
but
because
of
your
belief
in
me.
Thank
you
very
much.
A
E
J
Thank
you.
My
family
and
I
are
honored
to
accept
this
award
on
behalf
of
my
dad.
Sorry,
if
he
were
here
now,
I'm,
not
exactly
sure
what
he
would
say,
what
I
do
know
is
he
would
be
humbled
humbled
that
the
city
he
grew
up
in
was
acknowledging
him
simply
for
playing
a
game
that
he
loved.
However,
it
was
not
just
a
game.
He
was
passionate
about,
but
a
game
that
built
who
he
was
as
a
person.
J
Baseball
is
a
sport
that
teaches
confidence,
team-building,
respect
leadership
and
a
strong
worth
ethic
work
ethic.
All
these
characteristics
can
be
taught,
but
it's
what
you
choose
to
do
with
it.
When
you
leave
the
field
old,
teammates
and
friends
have
described
him
as
and
I
quote
one
heck
of
a
teammate
one
of
the
best
ball
players.
K
Well,
they
said:
I
have
three
minutes,
but
I
want
y'all
to
know
that
I
took
a
public
speaking
class
in
school
and
I.
Didn't
do
very
well
so
and
y'all
gonna
know
why,
in
about
three
minutes
well,
thank
the
committee
for
beaming
me
worthy
enough
to
be
a
member
of
this
group.
I
thank
all
y'all
for
coming
out
to
support
us.
You
know
we
go
through
life
and
we
are
touched
by
some
very
important
people
and
there's
one
here
tonight
in
a
coach,
Ronnie
fares,
food
stand
up.
Please.
K
Those
fairs
came
to
Biloxi
high
when
I
was
a
junior
I
think
it's
his
first
very
first
coaching
job
and
he
brought
us
in
and
he
made
a
bunch
of
young
boys
into
a
bunch
of
young
men
and
we
wanted
to
stay
title
for
him.
That
year
and
coach
appreciate
you
and
someone
else
I'd
like
to
acknowledge
tonight.
That's
not
here
Carol
Raley.
We
all
knew
him
as
butch.
He
nominated
me
this
year
and
unfortunately
he
left
us
not
very
long
ago
I
loved
butch.
K
He
was
a
great
guy,
great
ball
player
caught
many
of
the
games
that
I
pitched
in
and
I
know
he
wish
he
would
be
here
and
it's
kind
of
a
bittersweet
moment
for
me
like
to
tell
a
story:
I,
don't
know
if
Randall
Patterson
here,
I,
don't
think
he's
here.
If
he's
in
a
room
usually
know
it
anyway,
he
told
me
to
tell
the
story
and
I
promised
him
I
would
that
when
we
were
freshmen
at
Gulf,
Coast
was
Perkins
in
junior
college,
then
we
had
he
and
I
and
Harold
Savage
and
one
other
guy.
K
That
came
remember
who
it
was,
but
we
stayed
in
the
same
dorm
room
together
that
had
two
bunk
beds
in
there.
Well,
there
was
a
hazing
tradition
at
Gulf
perkinston.
The
disciples
would
come
in,
they
had
a
master
key
to
all
the
dorm
rooms.
They'd
come
in
and
that's
up
everybody's
room
and
then
we'd
only
been
there
about
two
weeks
and
I.
Guess
we
weren't
very
tidy
in
our
room,
cuz
the
guys
came
in
they
open
the
door
to
come
running
in
they
said
somebody's
already
been
here.
K
A
Their
life
sometimes
interrupts
the
sports
careers
of
outstanding
athletes,
and
that
was
the
case
for
our
next
inductee,
who
was
a
standout
player
of
Biloxi
high,
but
whose
college
career
was
delayed
by
service
to
his
country
in
the
US
Coast
Guard
in
late
in
World
War.
Two,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
please
welcome
our
next
inductee
mr.
lou
metallo.
E
All
these
people
talking
about
remember
to
remember
not
only
talking
about
if
I
tell
you
my
coach's
name
in
high
school
you're,
not
gonna,
remember,
but
if
you're
not
gonna,
know
him
in
the
first
place,
but
there
were
two
great
coaches
and
they
both
were
from
LSU
and
well-coached
garden.
One
was
coach
Brown,
but
anyway
I
one
think
everybody
involved
in
this
beautiful
induction,
Leslie
man
I,
will.
I
I
E
E
E
At
that
time,
of
course,
we
had
World
War
and
I
teased
her
about
everyone,
12
or
3,
but
it
wasn't
World,
War
3
as
well
or
two
and
I
went
as
a
Coast
Guard
and,
of
course
the
Coast
Guard
took
over
the
Navy
took
the
Coast
Guard
over.
So
a
ship
was
over
about
300
feet
and
we
had
24
landing
boats
on
it.
So
who
is
a
big
part
out
in
the
Pacific?
We've
been
all
over
the
Pacific.
E
Maybe
we
went
right
into
the
Coast
Guard
and
the
Coast
Guard
I
went
messing
around
here
and
and
the
state
I'm
a
disciplined
person
and
I
believe
in
discipline
and
I
learned
a
lot
of
discipline
but
before
gun
into
the
Coast
Guard
first
Biloxi.
What
I
learned
in
Biloxi
followed
me
all
over
the
world:
I,
never
forgotten,
Biloxi
I'm,
always
he
came
back,
must
be
something
good
about.
Biloxi
I
live
in
Ocean,
Springs
self.
E
And
whatever
I
knew
and
did
what
I
did
in
football,
it'll
all
come
back
to
Biloxi
it's
where
you
learn.
Okay,
when
I
get
back,
we
go
to
get
back,
we'll
go
to
perkinston
perkinston
junior
college.
We
were
in
46
I
played
football.
My
brother
Johnny.
We
were
two
slowest
guys
on
a
team.
We
had
no
no
speed
at
all
after
the
that
yeah
I
went
back
and
account
on
a
boat
went
shrimping,
north
and
Austin,
with
a
daddy,
so
I'm
getting
the
hell
out
of
I'm
going
back
school.
E
We
were
the
national,
we
were
the
state
champions,
a
junior
Perkinson
junior
college.
Also,
we
were
a
national
champion
on
this
side
of
the
Rockies
got
my
age
now.
Look
when
I
played
I,
don't
want
to
say
the
age,
but
we
didn't
have
those
helmets
you
talking
about
Red
Grange.
No,
no,
we
had
a
regular
helmet
just
like
all
the
rest
of
them
have
nine
and
we
had
face
man.
Nobody
had
a
face
Matthews,
because
your
face
crushed
all
the
time
and
I
want
to
I
want
to
congratulate
all
the
people
here.
Taking.
L
E
B
A
M
Y'all
really
want
me
to
follow
him.
Thank
you.
I
would
like
to
thank
the
city
of
Biloxi
mayor
fo,
fo,
Gillis,
sherry
Belt
in
the
selection
committee.
First
question
I
have
to
have
now
anybody
Gustav
people
in
here
all
right.
My
journey
started
as
a
three
pound
baby
on
Railroad
Street,
my
mother,
Clara
ain't.
Many
and
my
grandmother
Mattie
didn't
give
up
on
me
as
a
boy
scout.
In
truth,
2:14
I
didn't
have
a
uniform
or
equipment.
All
the
others
head.
M
Dr.,
Gilbert,
Mason,
Reverend
James
black,
didn't
give
up
on
me
in
baseball
line,
nail
and
twine
Freddy
right.
Mr.
Rosell
coach,
dear
work,
coach
Winningham
and
the
Biloxi
Dodgers
as
one
of
the
few
high
school
players
that
did
make
that
didn't
have
a
team
to
play
on
the
Biloxi
Dodgers
didn't
give
up
on
me
in
the
Navy,
my
beloved
family,
the
Ingram's
of
North
Carolina
and
my
church,
new
belt
of
Missionary
Baptist
Church
didn't
give
up
on
me.
M
Nichols
class
of
1968
51
years
graduated
and
Counting
Johnny
Brown
and
my
class
didn't
give
up
on
me
as
longtime
friends,
beaver
guys,
Lauren
Ratcliffe
little
Mike,
my
roll
buddy
Charles
Matthews
didn't
give
up
on
me.
As
a
umpire
of
40
years,
I
worked
with
hundreds
of
umpires
lead.
Presidents
Ras,
a
softball
representatives,
Mississippi
Gulf
Coast
High
School
Association,
develop
close
friends
with
Butch
Newkirk
Richard
Thurmond,
Willie,
Callahan
Kenny,
fairly
Bruce
Wilson,
Chris
McGee,
dozens
of
lead
presidents
and
a
thousand
of
ball
players.
M
Our
kids
that
play
ball
and
a
bloody
youth
system
didn't
give
up
on
me.
Special
thanks
to
Tom
Stanley
Calvin
Owens
was
started
at
softball
became
especially
close
friends.
Unfortunately,
coach
Alan
Marvin
isn't
here.
They
were
to
be
here
with
us
being
able
to
meet
and
greet.
His
family
has
been
a
pleasure
one
of
the
pleasures
in
my
life
as
a
shipyard
worker,
shorted,
couch,
80
Jones
and
all
my
machinists
of
local
11:33
didn't
give
up
on
me.
M
My
family,
Lacroix
sure
Paulette
Kay,
Francis,
Linda,
Rosie,
Melanie
Leslie,
the
Smith
Department
the
poses
and
the
games
they
didn't
give
up
on
me.
I
wish
I
could
share
this
moment
with
my
mother.
She
worked
days
and
night
to
give
a
three
pound
baby
a
chance
in
life
and
made
something
of
itself
to
the
city
of
Biloxi
Nichols,
high
school
to
blood
sea
Dodgers,
USA
softball,
thanks
for
giving
me
a
chance
thanks
for
not
giving
up
on
me,
God
who
I
give
them
credit
for
everything.
I
am
and
will
be
didn't
give
up
on
me.
A
N
It's
a
great
honor
to
be
here
tonight
with
all
these
inductees
and
all
the
past
history
that
goes
along
with
it
and
I
had
a
speech
written
up
here,
but
I
don't
think
it
could
compare
to
some
of
these
people,
but
I
guess
where
I
can
start
is
how
we
found
out
about
my
dad's
boxing
career.
It
was
me
and
my
brother
and
my
sister
that
grew
up
with
my
dad
and
mom
in
Biloxi
Mississippi
here
on
the
Graham
Avenue.
N
In
about
the
time
I
guess
we
could
talk,
we
noticed
there
was
a
trophy
case
full
of
trophies
and
it
was
my
dad's
trophies
and
I.
Guess
that's
how
we
found
out
about
because
he
had
done
this
and
I
think
his
boxing
career
was
in
the
1950s,
and
so
we
learned
about
it
and
believe
it
or
not.
We
learned
more
about
his
personal.
You
know
gains
in
his
career
by
just
his
friends,
his
friends,
Navy
friends
and
just
different
people.
He
never
bragged
on
himself.
N
N
Some
of
his
accomplishments
in
the
1960s
he
had
28
overall
team
titles
and
20
Mississippi
Golden
Gloves
au
Championships.
As
a
coach,
he
coached
the
Biloxi
Boxing
Club,
and
that
was
in
the
1960s
1962
through
1969
and
then
after
he
had
started
his
coaching,
the
Biloxi
Boxing
Club.
Those
kids
were
getting
older
and,
as
we
got
older,
we
started
getting
involved
in
sports,
so
we
weren't
interested
in
the
boxing.
N
We
did
football,
basketball,
baseball
and
so
his
interest
in
boxing
started
diminishing
because
he
was
wanting
to
volunteer
and
help
in
our
activities,
and
he
eventually
started
coaching
baseball
in
the
Pony
League
and
literally
and
I'm
telling
you
he
was
something
he
was
like.
He
was
a
community
guy.
He
in
the
neighborhood
like.
If
somebody
is
we
had
practice
or
anything,
he
would
go
and
round
up
all
the
kids
in
the
neighborhood
to
bring
in
the
practice
whether
they
are
on
our
team
or
another
team.
N
A
C
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Okay.
Let
me
again
begin
by
saying
how
honored
I
am
and
humbled
I
am
to
be
here
tonight
being
inducted
into
the
Black
Sea
Sports
Hall
of
Fame.
This
is
certainly
the
most
privileged
honor
I've
ever
received
and
I
feel
privileged
to
be
here
to
be
included
along
with
all
the
other.
Fine
inductees
I
would
not
be
here
today
if
it
were
not
for
my
father,
Doyle
Webster,
he
devoted
so
much
time
and
effort
in
shaping
the
sport
of
boxing
in
Biloxi
and
mentoring.
C
So
many
young
men
along
the
Mississippi
Gulf
Coast,
my
dad
was
very
passionate
about
the
sport
of
boxing
more
so
than
I
was
and
I
guess
it
was
because
he
never
had
to
take
any
punches.
He
was
a
coach,
but
anyway
he
helped
me
to
identify
my
weaknesses
and
shortcomings
and
turned
them
into
strengths.
In
the
boxing
ring.
C
C
A
Our
next
inductee
was
one
of
Biloxi
High's
greatest
football
coaches.
His
record
is
as
impressive
as
any
coach.
Before
and
after
him
he
won
a
state
championship
of
Biloxi
high.
He
wanted
Division
two
championship
at
Mississippi
College.
Please
join
me
in
welcoming
into
the
Biloxi
Sports
Hall
of
Fame
John
Williams.
O
Excuse
me,
someone
told
me
in
fact
this
little
lady
here
told
me
that
I
was
just
a
shoe-in.
I
really
really
got
in
there.
Real,
easy
and
I
found
out
that
Mike
Wallace
and
feel
laying
they
kind
of
grease
some
palms.
That
always
works
thanks.
God
thanks
guys
and
I
asked
several
people.
I
said
what
part
did
Big
Al
play.
O
They
said
nothing
I
said
nothing.
You
mean
he
didn't
help
at
all.
No,
he
was
you
got
in
in
spite
of
him.
So
anyway,
I
want
to
I
want
to
say
thank
you
boffo
and
the
committee
for
selected
me
to
get
in
here
and
interpret
and
congratulations
to
all
all
the
others
that
have
gotten
in
it.
Yes,
sir
I've
been
to
I
believe
this
is
my
fifth
one.
First
one
photo
I've
ever
been
that
was
free,
I'm
telling
you
the
love.
She
knows
how
to
do
things.
I'll
just
take.
O
Oh
I'll
just
tell
you
that
right
now,
buddy
and
good
and
good
and
wonderful
crowd.
All
of
that
I
want
to
tell
you
that
I
came
here
in
the
60s,
and
football
was
just
king,
but
Lux
is
a
wonderful
town,
but
football
was
just
King
and
I
came
back
in
the
90s
and
and
just
we've
struggled.
We
struggle
just
to
win.
Half
of
our
ballgames
just
really
worked
hard
to
do
it.
O
So
I
asked
I'll,
big
aisle,
y'all
know
who
I'm
talking
about
Jarrell
played
for
me,
but
al
would
always
come
into
the
dressing
room
and
he'd
be
looking
around
and
everything
and
then
he
played
for
me
at
Mississippi
College,
and
then
he
could
coach
with
me.
I
said
I'll
what
what
was
a
difference
in
the
60s
when
we're
winning
so
much
in
the
90s.
When
I
came
back.
What
was
the
difference?
He
said
John,
you
know
what
that's
wrong.
I
said:
no
I,
don't
he
said
it
was
a
coaching
staff.
I
said
what
he
said.
O
It
was
a
coaching
staff
said
you
don't
think
that
killer
and
Joe
Brown
were
really
coaches.
I
said
what
he
said.
They
were
just
token
said:
Rodney
Schultz,
say
and
I
just
worked,
our
tails
off,
but
we
weren't
good
enough
to
offset
those
two.
So
anyway,
I
want
to
tell
you
since
I'm
saying
talking
about
the
brothers
just
a
little
bit
case:
y'all,
don't
know
what
Carroll
and
I
adopted
Lorenzo
diamond,
who
went
and
played
for
Auburn
and
played
for
Arizona,
Cardinals
and
Miami
Dolphins,
and
so
forth,
like
that.
So
anyway,
I
was
gonna.
O
O
If
you
couldn't
get
ready
to
play,
football
in
fall,
just
wasn't
no
way
to
get
ready
to
play
football.
You
just
didn't,
have
it
in
you,
so
then
a
Vadra
didn't
do
too
awful
bad.
But
anyway
we
we
had
I.
Just
can't
be
reminisce
without
mentioning
Yankee
behind
a
he
was
I
guess
he
was
the
greatest
ambassador
for
Biloxi
that
I
ever
knew.
He
was
law,
Biloxi
high
school
and
he
special
deluxe
a
football,
and
he
had
just
got
through
building
that
Miss
hospitality
and
he'd.
O
Take
the
coaches
out
and
I
met
for
a
whole
weekend.
We'd
go
way
out
there
and
catch
more
than
just
warn
red.
Snapper
back
those
days
and
groupers
and
so
forth
like
that,
but
that
was
wonderful.
I'm
telling
you
Biloxi
coaching
in
Biloxi
then
was
just
a
joy,
enthusiastic
I
met.
Wonderful,
then
I
couldn't
help
her
mentioned
Jerry
Ellis.
He
took
an
old
shrimp
boat
and
made
it
into
a
into
a
houseboat,
and
he
would
take
all
the
coaches
out
fishing
now
for
country
red
that
guy
from
up
in
Claiborne
County
y'all.
O
O
They
got
kind
of
left
out
and
so
forth.
But
I
want
to
tell
these
people
that
live
in
Biloxi
that
have
lived
here
for
years.
Y'all
got
a
special
place,
I
coached
41
years-
and
this
was
this-
is
most
probably
the
most
enjoyable
14
years
I
ever
had
then
I
left
and
went
to
college.
Somebody
said
to
me
says:
John:
do
you
think
you
gonna
have
any
success
in
college
and
I
said?
Well,
they
tell
me
that
recruiting
is
the
big
thing
about
having
success
in
college.
O
So
I
got
to
think
and
I
said.
You
know
if
I
can
talk,
earth
Kentrell,
the
most
valuable
player
in
Louisiana
and
coming
over
here
to
Block
C
and
playing
and
being
the
most
valuable
player
in
Mississippi
I
might
have
a
chance.
So
anyway,
I
did
and
went
and
had
some
tears,
but
I
do.
Thank
you.
So
much
I
want
to
congratulate
all
those
people
that
receive
this
I
want
you
to
know
that
this
happens
to
be
my
fifth
one
and
not
bragging,
but
I'm.
A
Our
final
inductee
of
the
night
comes
from
a
great
family.
As
most
all
of
our
inductees
do.
His
parents
were
nominated
and
inducted
into
the
Hall
of
Fame
a
few
years
ago,
and
tonight
he's
following
in
their
footsteps:
former
basketball
standout
with
Biloxi
High
helped
them
to
two
state
championships,
he's
doing
a
great
job:
coaching,
a
basketball
team
they're
now
Sieber
when
Dan.
P
I,
thank
you
for
being
here
in
Psalm
107.
Give
thanks
to
the
Lord,
for
he
is
good.
His
love
endure
forever.
I
want
to
thank
the
city
of
Biloxi.
Lux
is
a
great
place.
I

I've

Think

at
this
podium.
P
Also
drill
always
taught
me
to
never
back
down
from
no
competition
and
always
fight
as
hard
as
you
can.
I
have
another
teammate
here.
His
name

James

P
Respect
is
earned.
It's
not
given
number
two.
They
taught
me
if
you
put
God
first
in
your
life,
that
you
will
always
be
blessed
number
three.
They
taught
me
when
you
are
in
athletics
or
you're
in
sports.
If
you
give
110
percent
you
play
as
hard
as
you
can
one
day,
athletics
will
come
back
and
bless
you,
and
it
has
done
that
today
by
me
being
inducted
to
the
Biloxi
Hall
of
Fame.
P
As
you
know,
as
well
as
I
know,
this
is
a
special
setting.
This
is
a
special
place.
Biloxi
is
home.
I
love
this
community
I
love
the

thank
you
for
embracing
me
