From YouTube: East Biloxi infrastructure update, June 16, 2016
Description
Project manager Joel Murrah, with Oscar Renda Contracting, the firm rebuilding and replacing infrastructure covering 55 miles of streets north the CSX railway in east Biloxi, provided this update on the project.
A
My
name
is
Joel
marom.
The
project
manager
for
Oscar
render
contracting
attached
to
the
north
project.
We,
along
with
the
city
of
Biloxi,
wanted
to
give
you
an
update
as
to
the
progress
being
made
currently
on
this
project
along
the
east
end
of
the
project,
you'll
notice
that
the
pavement
has
went
down
on
Oak
Street.
A
We
have
the
base
layer
in
with
the
exception
of
about
50
foot
on
the
southernmost
end
of
the
project,
and
that
section
we're
currently
coordinating
with
CSX
railroad
to
be
able
to
install
this
you'll
also
see
that
the
pavement
has
turned
and
started
making
its
way
up.
Division
Street,
which
is
good
progress,
a
lone
back
may
Boulevard
the
section
from
Oak
Street.
The
Boomtown
will
go
before
the
bloody
City
Council
next
Tuesday
to
approve
changes
to
the
design.
A
A
The
gravity
sewer
trunk
line,
making
its
way
toward
the
west
up
Division
Street,
has
made
it
this
point.
As
far
as
strong
g,
we
anticipate
within
the
next
six
to
eight
weeks
that
this
line
will
be
installed
all
the
way
up
to
Lee
Street.
The
storm
drain
is
being
installed
right
behind
the
gravity
sewer.
This
will
free
us
up
to
actually
be
able
to
install
the
pavement
further
up
division.
A
Furthermore,
along
the
east
end
of
the
project,
we
are
currently
finishing
the
disinfection
of
the
newly
installed
water
mains.
This
will
allow
us
to
activate
the
water
mains,
move
the
residents
over
to
the
new
means
and
remove
the
oldest
will
free
of
the
remainder
of
the
gravity,
sewer
and
storm
drain
to
be
installed.
On
the
west
end
of
the
project.
You'll
see
we
have
two
bores
currently
being
installed
under
I-110
at
Division
Street.
Once
these
boys
are
complete.
A
This
will
allow
us
to
connect
the
east
side
of
1-10
all
the
way
to
Nichols
Avenue
to
the
west
side,
where
they
will
terminate
its
sewer
treatment
plan.
We
anticipate
these
boulders
being
finished
within
the
next
30
days.
Currently,
along
the
west
end
also
we're
working
to
disinfect
the
water
mains
and
activate
the
new
system.
This
will
allow
us
just
like,
on
the
east
side,
to
connect
the
residents
to
the
new
system.
Once
this
happens,
then
this
will
free
up
the
remainder
of
the
streets
to
finish
the
sewer,
as
well
as
the
storm
drain.
A
We
understand
there's
been
a
lot
of
issues
on
this
project.
We
appreciate
your
patience.
I
know
I
speak
for
Oscar
into
and
the
city
of
Biloxi
to
let
you
know
that
we're
working
tirelessly
to
work
through
the
remainder
of
the
technical
issues.
We
hope
now.
You
finally
start
to
see
progress
and
it
will
continue
to
gain
speed
as
we
move
forward.
Thank
you.
