Description
Project superintendent John Cowart with Oscar Renda Contracting, the firm rebuilding and replacing infrastructure covering 55 miles of streets north of the CSX railway in east Biloxi, provided this update on the project.
A
I'm
John
Cowart
general
superintendent,
with
Oscar
and
the
contracting
here
today
to
give
a
progress
update
on
the
Biloxi
North
project
starting
next
Monday,
we'll
begin
another
round
of
paving
on
the
following
streets:
Binaca
Street,
north
of
Division,
Porter
Avenue
from
Division
Street
to
Cherokee
Cherokee,
both
east
and
west,
of
Porter,
Leath
Street
from
Division
Street.
All
the
way
to
the
North,
End
and
east
of
Oak
Street
will
begin
putting
down
surplus
Icefall
on
some
streets,
as
many
of
you
may
have
noticed
on
the
east
end
of
the
project.
A
Over
the
last
few
months,
we've
been
working
on
both
landscaping
and
the
replacement
of
fence.
This
will
continue
over
the
next
several
months
as
we
head
west
across
the
project.
A
few
weeks
ago,
CenterPoint
Energy
was
able
to
relocate
the
existing
gas
main
that
has
been
in
conflict
since
July,
the
23rd
of
2017,
the
first
section
that
they
removed
was
from
rain
or
to
the
Meuse.
A
Our
mainline
sewer
crew
working
on
Division
Street
has
now
installed
the
new
sewer

the
way
to
the
Meuse
Ivan
you
and
we're
now
again
waiting
on
Centrepointe
energy
to
remove
the
remaining
section
from
the
Meuse
two
nickels.
Due
to
this,
the
installation
of
the
new
sewer
on
Division
Street
from
nickels
heading
east
will
be
delayed.
For
a
few
weeks.
A
We
have
six
crews
installing
both
sewer
and
storm
drain
between
and
Laura
and
Main
Street,
while
we're
making
progress
here,
this
will
cause
traffic
delays
on
the
west
end
of
the
project
on
clearance,
Porter
and
Forest
Avenue
were
working
to
complete
the
final
jacket
board
for
the
new
sewer
that
runs
under
the
Creek
that
parallels
Division
Street
on
the
south
side
on
quieren
south
to
division.
We
have
a
crew
installing
the
new
sewer
main.
This
work
will
be
completed
around
the
1st
of
April
on
Porter
Avenue
north
of
Division.
A
We
have
a
crew
installing
the
final
utility,
which
is
storm
drain.
We
are
currently
at
the
intersection
of
Columbus
and
Porter.
This
work
should
also
be
complete
by
the
1st
of
May
over
the
next
few
weeks.
Oscar
winner
will
be
placing
over
two
miles
of
base
course
asphalt
and
over
a
mile
of
surface
on
Porter
Avenue
north
of
division
and
all
connecting
size
tree
Oscar
and
is
still
working
to
turn
the
residents
over
to
the
new
water
main
bowl
waters
notices
impossible
water
outages
should
be
expected
with
good
spring
weather.
