From YouTube: East Biloxi infrastructure update, Dec. 20, 2017
Description
Project superintendent John Cowart with Oscar Renda Contracting, the firm rebuilding and replacing infrastructure covering 55 miles of streets north of the CSX railway in east Biloxi, provided this update on the project.
A
I'm
John
Cawood
general
superintendent,
with
Oscar
and
the
contracting
on
the
Biloxi
north
project
here
today
to
give
a
progress
update
on
the
East
End
of
the
project
we've
just
completed.
Another
round
of
paving
the
following
streets
were
included:
Division
Street
between
stron
G
and
penny
Avenue,
strong
G
south
of
Division
alley,
which
merges
into
Hester
heading
west,
all
the
way
to
Keller
Marie
Street
from
Nicholls
to
Nixon
and
we're
hoping
if
the
weather
allows
to
continue
on
Murray
Street,
all
the
way
to
Elmer
whether
per
meeting
before
the
22nd.
A
We
plan
on
paving
Nixon
Street
between
Murray
and
Division
Street
on
the
west
end
of
the
project,
we'll
be
putting
down
2
inches
a
temporary
asphalt
from
the
bridge
at
manake
heading
west.
All
the
way
to
forest
on
the
east
end
of
the
project
were
close
to
completion
with
the
main
drainage
system,
which
runs
between
srong
G
and
penny
Avenue
heading
south,
all
the
way
to
the
train
tracks
after
the
holiday.
A
We
plan
on
this
work
being
complete
by
the
middle
to
the
end
of
January
in
the
central
area
of
the
project
at
Raynal
Street,
on
division
Oscar
and
has
been
delayed
due
to
an
existing
gas
line.
That's
in
the
way
of
our
new
gravity
sewer
system
Centrepointe
has
now
began
the
relocation
process
of
this
line.
We
anticipate
to
be
able
to
move
back
onto
the
Division
Street
with
the
new
sewer
heading
east,
all
the
way
to
Nixon
Street.
A
We
anticipate
this
work
to
be
complete
by
the
end
of
January
on
Binaca
north,
the
division
we've
installed
all
the
new
utilities
and
are
working
on
the
completion
of
the
drainage
structures.
We
anticipate
to
be
putting
down
16
limestone
and
asphalt
in
February.
In
the
last
week,
we've
been
able
to
turn
north
on
Porter
off
a
Division
Street
with
the
final
utility,
which
is
storm
drain.
This
work
will
continue
through
January
in
February,
with
paving
to
file
on
both
Aquarians
and
Porter,
just
south
of
division.
A
At
the
beginning
of
the
year,
Oh
Arcee
will
begin
the
installation
of
two
major
sewer
bores.
When
this
work
begins.
Both
of
these
streets
will
be
closed
down
to
traffic.
This
work
will
take
approximately
six
to
eight
weeks
to
be
completed
on
the
far
east.
End
of
the
project
will
begin
the
closeout
of
all
streets,
east
of
Oak
Street.
Once
this
work
is
complete,
we
will
be
able
to
put
the
topcoat
and
striping
down,
which
will
be
the
final
work
for
this
area.
A
This
will
be
a
huge
milestone
for
the
project,
as
it
will
be
the
first
day
that
will
been
able
to
completely
close
out
and
turn
over
to
the
city
of
Block
C.
Over
the
past
eight
weeks
we've
been
able
to
install
over
two
miles
of
paving
and
a
mile
and
a
half
of
sidewalk.
As
always,
we
appreciate
the
public's
continued
patience
as
we
work
to
complete
this
project
and
we
wish
everyone,
a
Merry,
Christmas
and
look
forward
to
a
productive
new
year.
