From YouTube: East Biloxi infrastructure update, Oct. 19, 2017
Description
Project superintendent John Cowart with Oscar Renda Contracting, the firm rebuilding and replacing infrastructure covering 55 miles of streets north of the CSX railway in east Biloxi, provided this update on the project.
A
The
work
between
penny
and
stron
Giovanni
should
be
complete
before
the
end
of
the
year,
allowing
us
to
pay
the
final
section
of
Division
Street
on
the
east
end
of
the
project
on
all
streets,
east
of
Oak
Street
we're
working
to
complete
punch
list
items
which
include
the
replacement
of
both
curb
and
sawed
wall,
replacement
of
fencing
and
driveways
and
landscaping.
We
anticipate
this
work
to
be
complete
by
the
end
of
the
year,
which
will
allow
us
to
place
the
surface
coat
of
asphalt
and
the
permanent
striking
between
Nichols
and
Main
Street
south
of
division.
A
Oh
RC
is
currently
working
to
complete
the
drainage
system
and
drainage
structures
which
will
allow
us
to
pave
this
whole
section
before
Christmas
on
the
west
end
of
the
project.
We
have
just
completed
a
large
section
of
paving
on
Division
Street,
starting
at
bone,
Street
heading
west,
all
the
way
to
the
bridge
at
banoffee,
in
coordination
with
the
city
of
Biloxi.
In
anticipation
of
a
future
contract,
orz
has
been
directed
to
place
temporary
asphalt
from
Bonacci
all
the
way
to
forest
on
Division
Avenue,
once
all
the
new
utilities
are
in
place.
A
The
reason
for
this
is
due
to
the
fact
that
Division
Street,
starting
at
Hopkins
and
going
west
all
the
way
to
Forest
Avenue,
will
be
transformed
into
a
Boulevard
in
coordination
with
the
additional
Keesler
gate
that
will
be
added
at
for
us.
We
are
working
to
install
the
drainage
system
from
Bonacci
headed
west
on
division
to
forest.
This
is
the
final
new
utility.
It
needs
to
be
installed
once
this
is
done.
All
we'll
have
left
to
do
is
install
the
new
drainage
structures.
Once
this
is
complete,
we
will
put
down
two
inches
of
temporary
asphalt.
A
We
anticipate
this
work
being
complete
by
the
end
of
the
year.
We
currently
have
a
crew
on
or
Funaki
installing,
the
drainage,
which
is
the
followed
utility
for
this
street.
Once
this
takes
place,
we'll
install
the
drainage
structures
and
we
anticipate
on
paving
going
down
on
Northland
Aki
in
early
January.
A
Once
the
work
is
complete
on
north
pinaki,
it
will
serve
as
a
detour
for
Keesler
traffic
heading
north
on
forests,
allowing
us
to
complete
the
work
that
is
remaining
on
Forest
Avenue
on
Aquarians
and
port
south
of
division,
we're
working
to
both
chlorinate
and
pressure
test.
The
new
water
main
because
of
this
there
will
be
temporary
water
outages
on
both
of
these
streets
or
sea.
We'll
do
our
best
to
make
sure
that
the
public
is
notified
when
these
disruptions
will
take
place.
A
Due
to
the
beautiful
weather,
we've
been
experiencing
recently
Oscar
and
has
been
able
to
install
approximately
six
miles
of
both
sidewalk
and
driveway
and
also
approximately
three
miles
of
asphalt.
We
anticipate
this
pace
to
continue
through
the
end
of
the
year
and
into
the
next,
with
a
continued
good
weather
Oscar,
and
to
thanks
the
public
for
their
continued
patience
and
the
positive
feedback
we
received
over
the
last
several
weeks.
