Description
Project superintendent John Cowart with Oscar Renda Contracting, the firm rebuilding and replacing infrastructure covering 55 miles of streets north of the CSX railway in east Biloxi, provided this update on the project.
A
I'm
John
Kahler
general
superintendent,
with
Oscar
into
contracting
here
today
to
give
a
progress
update
on
the
Biloxi
North
project
on
the
east
end
of
the
project.
Last
week
we
were
able
to
pay
the
Elmer
Street
between
Murray
and
division
and
on
the
west
end
of
the
project,
we
were
able
to
pave
Santini
south
of
division,
all
the
way
to
the
train
tracks.
A
Currently,
on
the
west
end
of
the
project,
we
are
installing
610
line
stone
road
base
and
curbing
on
North
Santini
and
North
pinaki,
with
a
goal
of
paving
these
two
streets
by
the
end
of
the
month,
weather
permitting
also
by
the
end
of
the
month
on
the
east
end
of
the
project.
We
plan
on
paving
the
remaining
section
of
Murray
Street
and
Elmer
Street
south
of
Murray
Roy
Street
between
Keller
and
Lee,
reading,
Street
between
Keller
and
Lee,
and
a
section
of
Lee
Street.
A
A
We
are
just
weeks
away
from
placing
the
surface
coat
of
asphalt
on
Oak,
Street
and
all
streets
to
the
east.
Since
July
23rd
of
2017
on
Division
Street,
Oscar
endo
has
been
delayed
due
to
a
gas
main.
That's
in
the
way
of
the
proposed
alignment
of
a
new
sewer
that
runs
the
length
of
Division
Street
from
rain
or
all
the
way
to
the
high
point
at
Nixon.
A
The
gas
line
that
is
in
conflict
must
be
moved
for
us
to
complete
the
work
on
Division
Street,
which
also
affects
completing
all
the
work
on
all
side
streets
that
connect
alpha,
W,
Division,
Street,
headed
north
and
south.
Over
the
last
several
weeks
on
Bradford
Street
north
of
division.
We
have
again
the
installation
of
the
new
sewer
with
storm
drain
to
follow
in
the
next
couple
of
months.
You
will
begin
to
see
ice
ball
going
down
in
this
area,
starting
next
Monday
on
Aquarians
South
Division.
A
We
will
begin
the
installation
of
a
sewer
bore
which
runs
south
on
Aquarians.
Due
to
the
complexity
of
this
work,
clearance
will
be
shut
down
24
hours
a
day
until
this
work
is
complete,
all
traffic
will
have
to
enter
from
the
south
side
coming
off
of
Howard
dirt
Aquarians
been
a
low-lying
area
and
the
amount
of
groundwater
into
the
work
here
will
take
longer
than
it
has
on
most
other
streets
on
Porter
north
of
Division.
We
began
the
installation
of
610
lamb
stones
with
carbon
to
follow
between
division
and
Cherokee.
A
We
are
installing
the
new
storm
drain,
headed
north
from
Cherokee,
which
is
the
final
utility,
and
we
also
have
a
structure
crew.
Following
installing
the
new
drainage
boxes.
Over
the
next
few
months,
you
will
see
significant
progress
on
Porter
and
all
connecting
side,
streets,
Porter
and
north
division
and
all
connecting
side
streets
is
the
final
area
on
Manoa
project
that
we
have
left
to
cut
both
pressure
tests
and
chlorinate.
The
new
water
main.
Due
to
this
over
the
next
couple
months,
residents
will
see
interruptions
and
possible
boil
water
notices.
A
Oscar
endo
will
do
their
best
to
make
sure
that
the
public
is
notified
with
any
disruptions
on
Bron
splendor
and
dr.
Gilbert
Mason,
which
is
the
area
that
surrounds
the
Biloxi
Housing
Authority.
We
are
working
to
complete
both
the
drainage
and
drainage
structures
with
610
and
paving
to
follow.
We
thank
the
public
for
their
continued
patience
and
for
the
positive
feedback
we've
been
receiving
and
we
look
forward
to
a
productive,
February
and
March.
