From YouTube: East Biloxi infrastructure update, Jan. 12, 2018
Description
Project superintendent John Cowart with Oscar Renda Contracting, the firm rebuilding and replacing infrastructure covering 55 miles of streets north of the CSX railway in east Biloxi, provided this update on the project.
A
I'm
John
Cowart
general
superintendent,
with
Oscar
and
the
contracting
here
today
to
give
a
progress
update
on
the
Biloxi
north
prong,
due
to
the
cold
weather
and
rain
we've
been
experiencing
over
the
last
few
weeks.
We've
had
delays
in
both
the
pointing
of
concrete
and
the
installation
of
asphalt.
East
of
Oak
Street
were
working
to
complete
the
final
items,
which
include
landscaping,
the
replacement
of
fences,
touch-up
work
on
the
concrete
and
both
the
asphalt
which
will
allow
us
to
put
down
the
final
service
and
striping.
A
We
anticipate
this
to
be
done
by
the
end
of
the
month
and
paving
to
begin
the
1st
of
February
between
Nichols
and
Main
Street
south
of
division.
We
began
the
installation
of
a
sidewalk
and
driveway
work.
This
work
will
continue
through
January
and
into
February
on
Division
Street
between
Nichols
and
Main
Street,
we're
working
on
the
final
drainage
structures
once
this
is
done,
we'll
be
able
to
finish
the
paving
in
this
area
on
Elmer
Street
south
of
Murray
we're
installing
the
final
utility
which
is
storm
drain.
A
Once
this
is
done,
we
have
a
few
drainage
structures
that
have
to
be
built.
Then
we
will
be
able
to
place
the
610
limestone
with
asphalt
to
follow.
We
expect
this
work
to
be
done
by
the
middle
of
February.
The
main
gravity
sewer
line
on
Division
Street,
which
runs
from
rain
or
East
to
Nixon,
has
been
delayed
for
over
three
months.
While
we
wait
on
the
city
to
work
with
center
point
energy
to
relocate
a
gas
main
we've
been
notified
by
the
city
of
Biloxi
that
the
work
that
Center,
Point
Energy
is
doing
on.
A
Division
Street
should
be
complete
by
the
beginning
to
middle
of
February
on
crusader
Percy
and
bone
Street
were
close
to
being
through
with
installation
of
the
new
curbing.
These
three
sections
will
be
paid
by
the
end
of
January
on
santini,
north
of
division,
we're
working
to
install
the
final
utility,
which
is
sewer
once
this
work
is
finished.
We
can
begin
the
installation
of
the
610
limestone
with
paving
to
follow.
A
This
street
is
projected
to
be
paid
by
the
end
of
February
on
santini
south
the
division
we
are
almost
through
with
the
installation
of
the
610
line
stone
base.
We
will
begin
pouring
curbing
the
first
of
next
week
weather
permitting.
We
plan
on
paving
santini
south
of
division
by
the
end
of
this
one
on
Binaca
north
of
division.
We
have
multiple
crews
working
on
both
the
drainage
structures
and
the
installation
of
the
610
line.
A
Stone
banoffee
north
of
division
is
expected
to
be
paved
by
the
end
of
February
on
Porter
north
of
Division
starting
next
Monday.
We
will
begin
installing
the
filing
utility,
which
is
large
diameter
storm
drain
due
to
the
location
of
the
storm
drain
on
North
Porter,
lane
closures
and
road
closures
should
be
expected.
We
will
do
our
best
to
keep
the
public
notified.
The
upcoming
parade
routes
will
not
be
affected
by
the
work
on
the
north
contract,
as
we've
been
working
closely
with
the
city
of
Biloxi
to
make
sure
that
we
maintain
the
main
thoroughfares.
