A
B
I'm
cecilia
dobbs
walton,
the
public
affairs
manager
for
the
city
of
biloxi
on
behalf
of
the
mayor
and
city
council.
We
want
to
thank
everybody
for
coming
out
tonight.
We
thank
all
of
y'all
for
wanting
to
participate
and
for
participating
in
this
grand
event.
It
is
an
amazing
feat
and
we
are
all
proud
of
all
of
you,
as
you
know,
as
many
years
ago
when
the
biloxi
sports
hall
of
fame
was
created
and
it
was
created
by
the
then
mayor
gerald
blessey.
B
B
B
So
later
he
wrote
a
letter
to
the
editor
where
he
talked
about
how
much
of
a
big
honor
it
was
while
he
back
then,
whenever
he
was
writing
his
speech
to
be
inducted
into
the
sports
hall
of
fame.
He
had
prepared
his
speech,
but
he
said
that
he
had
no
idea
that
when
he
got
there
that
it
was
going
to
be
a
cattle
call
with
60
other
people
being
inducted,
but
tonight
we
have
an
outstanding
class
and
being
inducted
in
the
sports
hall
of
fame
for
the
years
of
2020,
2021,
2022
and
one
from
2017..
B
This
is
not
a
cattle
call
tonight,
but
it's
going
to
be
a
stand.
It's
not
going
to
be
a
stampede
either,
but
I
do
want
to
say
that
it's
an
honor
to
see
how
many
people
have
been
so
excited
that
we
are
doing
the
ceremony
this
evening.
The
biloxi
sports
hall
of
fame
is
a
badge
of
honor
for
all
of
you
have
for
all
of
you
who
have
dedicated
your
lives
to
the
betterment
of
biloxi.
B
B
We
also
recently
lost
lino
antoine
who
was
inducted
in
1985
clinton
tapper,
who
was
inducted
in
2019,
steve
rosard.
He
was
inducted
in
2021
bobby
parrisage.
He
was
also
inducted
in
2021
and
bruce
strong,
who
was
inducted
in
2021.,
we're
sorry
to
have
lost
them,
but
it's
an
honor
to
continue
to
honor
them
as
a
biloxi
sports
hall
of
fame
member.
Thank
you.
B
I
also
do
want
to
thank
real
quick,
the
biloxi
parks
and
recreation
department
for
providing
dinner
for
the
biloxi
police,
honor
guard,
which
is
shane,
steele,
roderick,
harris
and
zachary
anderson,
also
to
the
biloxi
bacon
brigade
for
their
seafood
cooking
skills
and
to
the
biloxi
high
baseball
and
basketball
players
that
are
here
tonight.
And
now
I
like
to
call
up
father
gillespie
for
the
invocation.
C
Good
afternoon,
it's
so
good
for
us
to
be
here
together
to
celebrate
such
wonder:
athleticism
dedication
to
biloxi
and
the
sports,
and
for
everybody
that
has
joined
in
to
make
this
not
only
a
wonderful
day
but
to
make
biloxi
a
place
of
sports,
a
wonderful
place
to
play
a
wonderful
place
to
be,
and
so
we
begin
all
things
in
the
name
of
the
father
and
the
son
of
the
holy
spirit,
amen,
good
and
gracious
god.
We
thank
you
for
allowing
us
this
time.
We
could
gather
together
as
a
family
in
your
name.
C
C
E
Thought
I'd
really
be
nervous:
800
people,
80
tables,
800
people,
but
these
inductees
have
really
really
made
me
feel
so
good
and
so
welcome-
and
this
is
one
of
the
main
events
that
I
love
to
do,
and
I
learned
so
much
history.
You
know
george,
he
was
park,
superintendent
50
years
of
ref.
Is
it
called
refereeing?
George
refereeing
football,
not
umpiring
in
in
the
mississippi
hall
of
fame,
so
I
think
barry
lyons
is
here.
He
was
just
inducted
into
the
mississippi
sports
hall
of
fame.
You
got
kevin
fosher
who's.
E
I
knew
him
from
west.
Biloxi
is
a
little
bad
butt,
but
you
know
with
john
fosher
and
now
he's
a
state
legislature
getting
ready
to
be
into
the
sports
hall
of
fame.
I've
made
me
some
new
friends
from
toronto,
canada,
the
door
and
majors
family
all
the
way
from
toronto,
canada
to
you
all.
For
this
event,.
E
You
know
I
have
mr
carson,
who
was
a
coworker
of
mine,
that
passed
this
year,
had
no
idea
that
he
played
football
as
well
as
he
did
at
alcorn
university
and
then
went
on
to
play
pro
sports.
That's
how
much
you
learn
by
having
this
program,
and
I
saw
all
of
you
all
talking,
and
I
said
this
is
like
high
school
reunion
all
over
again.
E
E
Okay,
I
got
to
love
him.
I
told
him
if
he
if
he
asked
anybody
else
on
facebook,
I
was
going
to
have
to
take
his
tables
away,
but
what
he
did
was
historical
so
and
I'm
going
to
be
very
pleased
to
induct
him
into
the
sports
hall
of
fame
as
well
as
others.
So
I
do
have
to
thank
everyone
that
has
it
takes
a
village.
E
E
He
helped
me
who
else:
oh
biloxi,
high,
baseball,
basketball
and
cheerleaders.
These
are
your
past
sports
people
get
to
know
them
get
to
know
them.
They
were
where
you
are
now
back
then,
and
now
they're
being
inducted
into
the
sports
hall
of
fame.
Some
of
them
have
played
pro
and
some
some
of
them
went
on
to
excel
in
college
sports.
So
if
you
can
visit
with
them,
look
at
the
memorabilia,
it
tells
them
all.
I
asked
miss
guns.
I
said.
Oh,
my
goodness,
how
little
was
your
waist
back
then.
E
I
anyway,
the
hall
of
fame
committee
anyway,
the
hall
of
fame
committee.
That
was
a
track
team
back
then
from
nichols.
You
know
that,
just
from
what
I
understand
just
took
all
the
state
titles,
I
know
three
minutes.
Mr
bobby,
I
know
mayor
and
council
for
continuing
to
allow
us
to
do
this.
This
is
a
worthwhile
deal,
so
we've
been
doing
it
since
1985..
We
hope
to
continue
to
do
it.
Y'all
enjoy
your
night.
E
B
F
We
passed
on
the
shuttle
we
came
here
to
be
with
you
all.
You
have
that
you
have
this
many
people,
knowing
me
man.
That
would
be
one
fine
split.
The
pot
group
right
here.
We
could
make
some
money
on
that
pass
along
man.
Just
glad
you're,
all
here
put
y'all
down
for
the
city
blocks
over
these
years
is
awesome
and
we
can't
thank
you
all
enough.
Come
on
fella
tech
team.
G
Good
afternoon,
everyone
one
more
time
good
afternoon,
everyone.
This
is
a
great
celebration
and
I
am
so
happy
to
be
here
to
see
all
the
wonderful
people
out
here.
I'm
just
looking
in
there
see
of
you
guys,
looking
beautiful
for
this
great
occasion
here,
but
first
I
know
she's
a
little
modest,
but
I
want
to
give
one
more
big
round
of
applause
for
miss
sherry
bell,
because
she's
been
doing
this
a
long
time.
G
B
B
During
junior
high
and
high
schools
and
in
1961
one
served
as
track
team
captain
named
outstanding
player
and
at
graduation
held
records
and
hurdles.
Coach
dixie
he
coached
dixie
league
baseball
and
served
as
the
gate
chairman
at
the
shrimp
bowl
classic
from
1972
to
early
1990s,
elton
bienvenue
senior.
H
I
B
Okay,
the
next
inductee
is
vincent
pete.
Bosarge
began
playing
baseball
at
age,
seven
at
rose
street
and
a
lifelong.
He
had
lifelong
love
affair,
followed
excelling
at
central
junior,
high
biloxi,
high
school
and
gulf
coast
community
college
before
entering
a
degree
in
education
at
southern
miss
in
1975..
B
J
I
had
to
write
mine
down
because
if
any
of
y'all,
which
I'm
sure
a
lot
of
you,
do
no
new
pete,
I'm
not
like
him.
This
is
nerve-wracking
for
me,
so
his
love
for
the
game
started
outside
of
the
fence
behind
home
plate,
watching
our
father
play
when
he
finally
made
it
inside
the
fence.
J
J
J
Okay,
when
he
wasn't
on
the
field
and
in
uniform,
he
was
on
the
field
with
a
clicker
and
a
mask
and
a
shin
guard.
I
mean
a
chest
guard
umpiring
after
receiving
his
degree
in
education,
he
influenced
baseball
players
at
saint
martin
high
school
in
notre
dame
along
with
countless
individual
ball
players
when
he
left
coaching
as
a
job.
He
never
stopped
coaching.
J
B
B
After
pitching
a
two-hitter
and
two
consecutive
no-hitters
during
his
career,
he
pitched
four
no
hitters,
two
one
hitters
and
two
two
hitters
in
in
his
senior
year
won
over
400
games
at
assistant
and
head
coaches
for
biloxi
high,
including
six
district
championships.
He
appeared
in
the
state
playoffs
12
of
13
years
as
a
head
coach,
kevin
bardeen.
K
Okay,
I
had
to
bring
a
little
ball
player
with
me.
So,
let's
see,
if
I
can
get
to
this,
I'm
gonna
put
my
glasses
on
okay.
First
of
all,
I
just
want
to
thank
thank
the
committee
for
allowing
me
to
be
part
of
this
brotherhood
of
the
biloxi
sports
hall
of
fame.
I
would
also
like
to
thank
brian
kozlowski
and
drew
welter
for
putting
my
name
in
the
hat
to
be
a
part
of
this
elite
group
of
people
that
have
contributed
to
the
rich
heritage
of
biloxi
athletics,.
K
Born
and
raised
in
in
biloxi
and
playing
sports,
my
entire
career
from
age,
five
to
18
years
old.
I
think
you
know
along
the
way
you
you
establish
many
relationships
with
players
and
coaches
that
will
last
a
lifetime,
and
you
know
all
of
them
contribute
to
your
success
as
a
coach
and
a
person.
K
Yesterday
we
had
our
spud
appreciation
day
and
man
that
was
unbelievable.
You
know
brian
kozlowski
put
that
together,
I
know,
but
not
by
himself,
but
he
had
a
lot
of
help,
but
man
what
a
great
thing
just
being
around
all
those
guys
telling
stories
about
you
know
all
the
games,
the
playoffs,
the
championships.
K
You
know
the
successes,
the
failures
man,
it
was
just
it
was
unbelievable.
You
know,
and
you
know
I
wrote
what
what
kai's
you
know
I
mean
cosplay.
Together
I
played
with
scotty
george
and
greg
williams.
You
know
in
every
every
hall
we
had
a
story.
K
I
hope
I
get
through
this
quick,
but
you
know
we
had
a
story
and
you
know
I
don't
even
remember
half
of
them,
and
I
don't
know
if
my
ass
is
getting
old
or
something
I
don't
know,
but
I
tell
you
brian
kozlowski
could
tell
some
stories.
I
don't
know
how
he
remembers
all
this
stuff
man.
It
was
unbelievable,
but
anyway,
just
seeing
people
that
you
haven't
seen
in
months
and
years
was
incredible.
I
saw
john
hankins
40
years.
K
I
hadn't
seen
him
and
we
were
the
one
two
combination
for
spuds
1982
high
school
year.
I
ain't
seen
him
in
40
years
and
I
saw
him
saturday
but
I'd
like
to
thank
two
coaches
and
then
I'll
get
over
I'll
be
done.
Two
coaches
had
a
big
impact
on
me.
One
was
jim
albritton,
peewee
coach,
yeah,
peewee
coach
just
taught
us
how
to
be
tough,
how
to
be
gritty.
K
K
You
knew
what
was
going
to
happen
the
next
day
of
practice,
and
I'm
telling
you
the
guy
was
unbelievable
and
you
were
you
just.
You
were
scared
of
what
was
going
to
happen,
but
anyway
spud
winner
wits,
the
next
guy.
Last
but
not
least,
I
want
to
say
thank
you
for
being
special
to
me
and
so
many
other
people
around
the
coast,
and
I
was
fortunate
enough
to
not
only
play
you
know
under
spud,
but
also
I
was
a
head
coach
and
he
was
my
athletic
director
and
so
man.
K
E
Part
of
the
first
sports
hall
of
fame
1985
when
blessy
was
mayor
here,
so
he
was
one
of
the
ones
who
first
initiated
and
got
it
started,
and
I
thought
he
was
going
to
be
here
so
and
actually
he
was
the
one
who
first
hired
me
on
with
the
city
of
biloxi,
so
spud,
if
you're
here.
Thank
you.
B
L
L
And
especially
those
that
he
accomplished
while
he
was
with
us
james
is
no
longer
with
us.
He
passed
away
september
of
2020.,
we're
indeed
proud
that
the
biloxi
sports
hall
of
fame
saw
fit
to
honor
him
in
this
manner,
so
on
behalf
of
samantha
myself
and
the
entire
carson
family.
Thank
you
from
the
bottom
of
our
hearts.
B
He
was
he
served
in
his
sports
career
from
consecutive
all-star
honors
and
little
pony
and
cult
leagues
to
an
exceptional
shortstop.
He
hit
over
400
at
notre
dame
high
school,
while
also
being
named
mvp
in
basketball.
He
quarterbacked
an
undefeated
flag.
Football
team
won
defensive
honors
in
softball
and
went
10
for
15
in
the
world
sophomore
tournament
in
montgomery
alabama
in
1981.,
glenn
corso.
M
Well,
I
ain't
too
good
at
this,
but
I
want
to
thank
the
committee.
I
want
to
thank
sherry
bell.
I
want
to
thank
kim
stewart
for
nominating
me.
Randy
jenkins,
you
tried,
but
we
didn't
make
it.
I
want
to
thank
everybody
for
showing
up
I'm
going
to
congratulate
all
the
other
inductees
from
back
when
and
now
george
cronin
said
my
friend
he's
getting
old.
Look
at
that
gray
hair.
Thank
you
very
much
got
plenty
more
here,
but
I
can't
I
can't
call
them
all
out,
but
I
want
my
family
over
there.
M
My
beautiful
family
is
my
daughter
caitlin,
my
daughter
aaron,
my
two
wonderful
grandkids
is
madeline
and
tripp
moody
joel
his
best
son-in-law
in
the
world
and,
of
course
I've
got
my
wife
there.
I
don't
know
what
I'd
do
without
her.
You
know
she's
a
she's
the
best
of
the
rest.
I
don't
know
what
to
say
about
her.
M
Y'all
know
her
and
y'all
know
me
who
you
think
got
the
best
best
of
that
deal,
but
I
love
her
and
I'm
honored
and
I'm
not
good
at
this,
but
I
want
to
say
thank
you.
Thank
you
very
much.
B
Kenneth
fairley

his
athletics

N
Good

I
want
to
thank
the
blockchain
sports

for
allowing

To

this
with

since
I
moved
to
biloxi
and
chris
mcgee
and
his
wife
chris
helped
me
coach,
youth
league
sports
and
been
a
very
one
of
my
best
friends
since
I've
been
in
biloxi
and,
of
course,
my
lovely
wife
darlene
james
fairley,
right.
N
Okay,
I
was
born
in
hattiesburg,
mississippi
I
left
hattiesburg
when
I
was
15.
moved
to
vanclay
stayed
there
two
and
a
half
years
helped
him
win
a
first
half
of
pascual
river
conference
football
championship
in
73..
N
I
moved
to
biloxi
in
75
got
married
in
76,
but
I
met
my
wife
in
73.
I
didn't
I
didn't
get
married
yet
after
I
met
her
so,
but
we
that's
when
I
I
met
her
and
but
anyway,
once
I
came
to
biloxi
myself
and
teddy
ray,
we
coached
youth
league
sports
battle
against
each
other.
Had
great
teams
and
cheri
bell
helped
me
when
she
got
here,
because
I
always
had
great
basketball
team
and
we
beat
these
teams
around
long
beach
in
ocean
springs.
N
They
claimed
we
cheating,
we
had
to
bring
birth
certificates
when
sherry
barrel
came
on
board.
I
only
had
now.
I
don't
have
transportation,
but
I
had
justification
of
these
kids
eligibility
and
it's
been
an
honor.
I
I
love
coaching,
these
kids
matter
of
fact,
one
of
the
young
men
that
I
coach
in
basketball
is
going
into
the
hall
with
me,
garland
andrews,
I'm
so
proud
of
him.
I
talked
to
him
at
the
game.
Last
night,
young
man,
I
went
into
army
at
87.
N
I
didn't
get
to
see
them
to
play
high
school
ball.
They
want
state
championships,
but
I
missed
that,
but
I'm
glad
to
see
them
excel
and
do
well.
I'mma
close
with
this,
I
worked.
I
was
in
the
army
26
years,
but
I
worked
for
the
city
of
biloxi
10
and
a
half
years,
and
I
want
to
recognize
george.
If
you
can
we
stand
up,
please
I
want
to
recognize
you
sit
down.
I
want
to
recognize
george
chronosich,
I'm
going
to
tell
you
hey.
N
Yeah,
a
young,
a
young
kid
getting
out
of
college.
He
I
came
to
city
biloxi
and
he
really
mentored
me
that's
the
best
boss.
I
ever
had
army
wise
anywhere
and
he
really
took
care
of
myself.
He
took
care
of
all
of
us
me
ted
ray
dude,
but
he
was
a
good
guy.
He
was
like
a
father
figure
to
me
and
I
will
never
forget
him
glad
to
see
him
today
being
inducted.
B
Kevin
faustra
played
football
at
biloxi
high
in
1993
and
1994..
He
played
both
sides
of
the
ball
as
defensive
end
and
offensive
tackle.
He
attended
mississippi
gulf
coast,
community
college
and
completed
his
degree
in
sports
coaching
at
usm
gulf
coast.
His
love
for
sports
and
coaching
continued
at
the
ymca
biloxi
leagues
and
at
our
lady
of
fatima
elementary
knowing
offensive.
Andy
fitz,
along
with
coaching,
probably
comes
in
handy
now.
As
a
member
of
the
mississippi
state
legislature,
kevin
felcher.
O
O
Today
is
a
special
day
for
us
inductees,
but
it's
also
a
chance
for
us
to
say
thank
you
to
all
of
you
who
helped
us
get
here.
That's
the
big
thing,
and
for
me
that
was
my
mom,
my
brother,
my
friends,
many
of
who
were
in
attendance
today.
O
Thank
you
for
coming,
but
the
coaches
were
really
important
and
for
me
that
was
the
late,
legendary
coach,
john
williams,
coach,
kenny,
hudson
my
middle
school
coaches,
coach,
tommy
williams
and
rodney
sauce,
but,
most
importantly,
as
kevin
birding
said,
the
peewee
coach
don't
realize
how
much
of
an
impact
they
have
on
you
and
for
me
it
was
adrian.
Dotson,
coach
dotson
was
up
at
our
apartments
one
day,
just
kind
of
watching
scoping
like
he
did
recruiting
his
team,
and
he
saw
me
and
some
others
playing
sandlot
football.
O
So
he
came
up
and
said:
hey.
Would
you
be
interested
in
playing
on
my
team?
I
said.
Well,
I
have
to
ask
my
mom,
so
he
came
with
me
and
she
said
no.
We
can't
do
it
not
because
she
didn't
trust
coach
dodson,
but
because
she
didn't
have
a
car,
but
coach
dodson
said
I'll
get
them
to
and
from
practice
safely.
You
can
check
around
check
my
references.
I've
been
coaching
for
a
while
I'll
get
it
done
and
she
agreed
the
rest
was
history.
O
For
me,
I
had
a
lifelong
mentor
in
football
so
to
all
you
who
have
coached
and
mentored.
Thank
you.
You
do
not
realize
what
an
impact
you
make
sometimes
and
for
those
of
you
who
get
a
chance
to
do
it,
do
not
pass
it
up.
You
can
change
someone's
life,
so
thank
you
all.
This
is
quite
an
honor
and
I
appreciate
it
and
god
bless
each
and
every
one
of
you.
B
P
P
P
But
but
anyway,
it's
a
great
pleasure
to
be
here
want
to
thank
two
people.
A
P
But
anyway
we
had
a
lot
of
good
times
on
back
bay.
Coaching
little
league
went
to
st
petersburg
every
year
for
the
little
league
tournaments,
and
it
was
a
great
time
and
I've
I've
been
there
all
that
time
and
if
you
ever
go
to
a
ball
game
in
biloxi
anyway,
you
probably
see
me
there,
because
we
got
about
six
hours
to
graduate
from
black
city
high,
that
we
we
go
to
all
of
black
street.
We
support
bloxy
high.
We
go
to
all
their
games,
football,
basketball,
everything
and
it's
a
great
time.
P
We
have
a
god's
name
out.
We
go
to
tr
on
road
trips
to
out
of
town
games
and
it's
just
a
lot
of
fun.
But
anyway,
I'd
like
to
thank
my
family
for
being
here
tonight.
P
P
And
then
I'm
at
a
ballpark,
some
type
of
ballpark
every
night
during
the
week
and
many
weekends
I
don't
miss
none
of
their
games,
but
I
want
to
thank
them.
I
want
to
thank
my
family,
especially
I
got
to
special
guests
the
other
night.
They
come
all
the
way
from
albuquerque
new
mexico
to
be
to
be
with
me
here
tonight,
they're
really
special
to
me.
I
go
out
there
and
see
them.
They
come
in
and
see
me
and
it's
I'm
still
going,
but
I
can
make
tonight
and
I
thank
y'all.
P
B
B
Q
Good
evening
davinder
asked
me
to
be
her
mouthpiece
if
you
will
and
because
you
know,
as
you
know,
she
lost
her
husband
and
they
lost
their
father
several
years
ago
and
it's
still
very
raw
to
them,
and
anybody
that
would
know
that
we've
been
a
friend
of
the
mages
for
a
very
very
long
time
and
if
you
describe,
if
you
ask
me
to
describe
a
darn
major
in
one
word,
I
would
say
tenacious-
and
I
had
to
think
about
that.
Why
was
this
guy
so
tenacious?
Q
Well
back
in
the
day
we
didn't
have
babysitters,
so
darwin
had
to
hang
with
his
older
brother
vic
major
okay,
so
vic
hung
with
me
sam
nichols
james,
carson,
steve
c
cool
mike
c
lawrence
hightower,
the
whole
biloxi
high
school
team
durham
had
access
to
us.
So
when
we
would
play
our
sandlot
ball
games
and
we
wouldn't
have
enough
people,
doran
would
always
be
the
one
that
would
make
the
teams
even
he
was
the
last
one
to
be
picked.
Q
So
he
ran
with
all
these
guys.
The
amazing
thing
about
him.
He
always
seemed
to
know
the
people
in
the
in
crowd.
As
an
example,
we
played
for
southern
illinois
university
and
our
athletic
director
was
dale.
Sears,
durham
doran
would
come
in
the
field
house,
with
dart,
with
gail
sears,
congratulating
us
and
good
game,
fellas
good
game.
He
was
just
a
little
bitty
kid.
I
was
like
where'd
this
little
guy
come
from.
Okay,
tenacious.
I
watched
him
play
at
memphis,
then
for
the
showboats.
Q
He
won
my
respect
when
he
went
up
against
herschel
walker
and
annihilated
herschel
walker,
then
I
watched
him
play
for
the
toronto
argonauts.
The
thing
that
amazed
me
about
him
too.
He
was
very
soft-spoken,
had
the
most
gorgeous
eyes
for
a
guy
with
the
longest
eyelashes,
and
you
can
see
his
daughters
all
have
the
same
thing,
but
he
is
well
missed.
B
I'm
sorry
jarrell
nunley.
He
played
baseball
and
basketball
at
biloxi
high.
He
was
named
rookie
of
the
year
in
1989
and
he
was
a
key
part
of
the
biloxi
high's
back-to-back
state
basketball
championships.
He
followed
the
bouncing
ball,
the
bouncing
basketball
to
college.
His
first
stop
was
the
university
of
north
texas,
then
to
william
carey,
where
he
was
a
basketball
mvp
in
1995.,
jerrell,
nudley.
R
Before
I
get
started
kenny,
my
name
is
jarrell
nunley,
not
golden
andrews.
You
I'm
the
guy.
He
was
talking
about.
R
I
want
to
thank
everybody
for
for
coming.
This
is
a
beautiful
day,
I'm
honored
and
humbled
to
be
here.
I
wish
my
mother
could
be
here,
she'll
be
so
proud
of
me.
I
just
wanted
to
know
that
my
son
made
it
to
the
hall
of
fame.
R
And
to
my
dad,
thank
you
for
always
being
there.
You
coached
me
in
baseball
football,
but
you
didn't
coach
me
in
basketball.
So
that
says
a
lot
about
your
coaching
ability,
brother.
R
R
You
inspired
me
kenny
as
a
little
kid
you
told
me
one
day
he
said
son,
you
have
a
gift
use
that
gift.
I
was
like
kenny
what
you
talking
about
just
slapping
the
backboard.
He
said,
nah
man
put
the
ball
in
the
hole
you
can
do
that
coach
lair.
Thank
you
for
everything,
coach,
you're,
the
goat.
You
mean
a
lot
to
me.
R
B
B
He
once
scored
51
points
in
a
pee-wee
basketball
game
right
up
there
with
his
love
of
sports
is
his
love
of
community
and
service.
His
service
work
includes
the
atlanta
project,
the
carter
center
hurricane
relief
efforts
after
katrina
and
after
school
tutoring,
a
winning
record
for
sure
david
day
day,
shelby.
S
All
right,
let
me
see
if
I
can
get
this
mic
thing
right,
I'm
a
retired,
new
york
city.
Excuse
me,
new
york,
state
teacher
biloxi
was
my
home
stayed
here
19
years
and
sports
was
the
avenue
at
the
time
to
get
out
for
me.
So
I
have
a
little
bit
of
it
written
down,
so
I
can
go
over
it.
S
I
learned
a
lot
about
what
coach
laird
was
talking
about
back
then,
because
then
I
became
a
coach
of
seventh
graders
and
eighth
graders
and
I
know
I
was
unpolished
from
by
augusta
holmes
going
up
to
biloxi
high
and
letting
him
know
that
we
had
all
the
talent
already.
We
just
needed
to
look
guidance,
and
so
he
was
patient
with
me.
I
played
two
years
and
I'm
old
enough
to
say
that
back
then
we
didn't
have
a
three-point
line.
S
So
my
mother
and
my
grandmother,
eleanor
shelby,
along
with
main
street
baptist
church,
assisted
in
instilling
tough
love
in
me,
and
so
I
carry
that
with
me
everywhere.
I
go
yo,
but
my
main
focus
was
making
sure
I
was
a
good
big
brother
for
my
brothers
and
sisters
and
also
I
recognized
that
year
at
a
young
12
that
god
became
the
supreme
existence
living
within
me,
because
that's
what
it
was
going
to
take
without
my
mom
and
to
make
it,
and,
along
with
that,
came
the
village
of
uncles
and
aunts
and
cousins.
S
S
My
love
for
sports
also
got
me
in
trouble
because
I
broke
a
few
house.
Rules
had
to
sneak
out
and
play
at
times
since
I
was
the
oldest
in
charge
of
the
younger
ones,
but
nevertheless
my
talents
were
highlighted
by
you
know
the
playgrounds
of
by
augusta
nicholas
perkins
and
of
course
this
was
doing
the
segregated
landscape
of
biloxi
at
the
time
so
at
12
losing
my
mother
and
then
the
community
sports
in
our
community
was
also
taken
away.
That
was
devastating.
S
So,
for
the
first
time
I
had
an
opportunity
to
play
against
white
players
had
white
coaches
and,
of
course,
that
right
there
gave
me
that,
instilled
me
a
broader
or
allowed
me
to
become
a
broader
person,
because
now
the
community
was
expanded
at
every
level.
I
was
a
champion
and
then
I
got
up
to
biloxi
high.
S
So
again,
I
want
to
thank
coach
laird
for
his
basketball
guidance
and
presenting
this
unpolished
person
to
this
committee.
So
I
want
to
thank
this
committee
for
accepting
his
his
nomination
and
being
recognized
by
one's
hometown.
Is
such
an
honor
and
being
in
new
york
is
now
the
place
where
I
have
lived
longer
than
I
have
lived
in
biloxi
19
years
here.
S
I
think
I
got
23
in
new
york
now,
besides,
that
being
in
the
military
got
used
to
moving
around,
but
anyway,
I
wanted
to
also
recognize
my
leica
brother,
best
friend,
cousin,
beaver
guys
beef
stopped
playing
sports
and
picked
up
the
bass
guitar,
but
he
is
greatly
responsible,
he's
greatly
responsible
for
urging
me
on
during
this
process,
and
I
will
also
want
to
say
thank
you
to
my
administrative,
beautiful,
intelligent
wife,
avis,
karya
shelby.
S
So
thank
you,
sweetheart
you've
been
through
it
all
and
in
closing
I
would
like
to
say
10
years
ago,
to
this
day
I
was
rolled
into
the
or
and
I
had
a
cancerous
tumor
removed.
So
I
thank
god
for
allowing
me
to
be
here
today
to
receive
this
award.
Thank
you,
family.
Thank
you
committee
and
thanks
all
of
you
and
thanks
to
the
other,
congratulations
to
the
other
inductors.
Thank
you.
B
B
T
I
want
to
thank
cole
ferris
for
not
letting
me
play
baseball
coach,
jackie
lag,
wouldn't
let
me
play
basketball
because
I
couldn't
shoot,
but
I
could
dunk
and
I
want
to
thank
my
cousin.
I
got
two
cousins
coming
in
with
me:
brenda
tillman
and
byronelle
lumberg,
so
we
both
all
those
coming
in
together,
and
I
want
to
thank
joe
sabatini
for
not
letting
me
play
football
for
two
years.
T
T
So
before
I
got
to
run,
they
told
everybody
the
defense
knew
to
play
so
they
told
me
to
do
it
four
times
so,
the
fifth
time,
scott,
savage
and
three
guys
hit
me
on
the
leg
and
broke
my
leg.
Four
in
four
places
that
was
my
sophomore
year,
then
the
junior
year.
We
did
it
again,
they
say
do
it
again.
I
said
cove
not
again,
coach
broke
the
other
leg,
so
I
didn't
get
to
play
football
10
11th
grade,
so
I
ran
track.
T
I
didn't
like
losing
so
they
I
was
fast
coming
out
to
junior
high
school,
so
every
time
I
got
in
second
place
I
would
fall
and
trip
so
they
say
this
guy
is
not
going
to
run
so
they
said
we're
going
to
give
them
something
to
do.
They
say:
that's
letting
them
try
to
pull
over.
I
said
no.
I
ain't
going
up
that
high,
so
my
mom
used
to
always
try
to
catch
me,
so
I
used
to
jump
over
the
fence.
T
I
said
I
think
I
could
hide
your
coach,
so
he
said
no
you're
too
little.
I
said
coach.
I
can
do
this,
so
I
used
to
just
run
and
jump
over
the
pole.
No,
no
leap
in
the
building
at
all.
I
thought
they
said
he's
good.
So
all
of
a
sudden,
these
tall
guys
came
out.
They
say
man
you're
too
short,
so
I
walked
under
the
pole.
It
was
like
6
1..
T
I
said
I'm
gonna
wait
till
they
miss,
so
I
jumped
6-2
the
first
time
I
ever
tried
to
jump
so
so
I
broke
the
wreck
the
first
year,
then
the
second
year
I
broke
my
record
and
then
I
broke
the
soft
state
record
my
senior
year.
So
I
love
track,
but
I
wish
I
could
have
played
football.
I
really
did,
but
that
didn't
happen,
and
I
want
to
thank
my
family
for
coming
out
and
I
want
to
thank
everybody
else.
I
don't
want
to
stay
up
here.

I'm
sorry.
He
also
shared
his

of
the

U
I
would
like
to
thank
the
committee
members
who
voted
me
into
the
hall
and
last
but
not
least,
I
would
like
to
thank
my
friends,
pat
and
tom
abernathy,
who
nominated
me
for
this
award
and
who
I
understand,
spent
a
lot
of
time
searching
the
local
newspapers
that
went
back
into
the
1950s
to
try
to
find
something
good
to
say
about
me
and
I'm
an
old
bird.
You
know,
and
luckily
they
did
find
something
good
and
I
got
into
the
hall
and
I'm
very
thankful
and
thank
you
all
very
much.
B
If
we
say
hello,
everybody,
you
may
know
our
next
inductee
aj
gardena
spent
44
years
in
broadcasting,
39
of
them
at
wlox
tv
as
sports
director
and
anchor.
He
covered
local
athletes
from
the
high
school
field
to
the
pros.
His
long
list
of
accolades
include
the
lindsay
nelson
lifetime
achievement
award
in
sportscasting,
the
howard
led
news
person
of
the
year,
mississippi
association,
press
broadcasters,
hall
of
fame
and
the
gulfport
sports
hall
of
fame.
That's
a.j,
giardina.
V
V
I
wasn't
an
athlete
here
on
the
coast,
but
I
did
cover
many
athletes
who
scored
those
touchdowns,
and
you
know
all
the
things
in
baseball
hitting
home
runs,
and
I
have
to
admit
before
I
got
here.
I
was
working
in
beaumont
port,
arthur
texas
and
I
received
a
phone
call
from
my
brother
at
the
time
he
was
working
at
wdsu
tv
as
a
news
person
and
in
march
of
1978
there
was
a
plane
crash,
a
universal
plane
crash.
V
It
was
a
low
commuter
airline
and
it
crashed
in
gulfport
and
eight
people
died
and
my
brother
came
over.
He
was
working
at
wdsu
at
the
time
to
cover
the
story
and
he
ran
into
a
guy
by
the
name
of
scott
peterson.
He
used
to
be
the
news
anchor
at
wlox
and
he
asked
my
brother.
He
said:
do
you
know
of
anybody
who
could
do
sports?
He
goes
yeah,
my
twin
brother,
so
I
received
the
phone
call
and
I
got
the
job.
But
right
before
that
happened
in
january
of
1978
I
was
in
line.
V
I
was
one
of
two
guys
in
line
to
become
the
weekend
sports
guy
with
buddy
della
birdo
at
wvue,
and
I
didn't
call
him
up.
I
didn't
bug
him
and
I
said
I'm
not
gonna
buy.
You
know
I'm
gonna
try
to
just
go
on
with
my
tape.
We
sent
him
a
videotape
and
my
resume
and
I
finally,
after
two
weeks
I
called
her
say:
hey,
I
said:
what's
what's
the
word
buddy,
he
goes
aj
it's
between
you
and
another
guy.
He
says
the
guy
you
work
with
and
I
worked
in
alexandria
before
went
to
beaumont.
V
He
said
it's
another
guy
that
you
work
with.
That's
oh,
I
got.
He
told
me
who
it
was.
I
said
I
got
this,
that's
no
question,
I
waited
another
two
weeks
and
I
called
back
and
the
general
manager
got
on
the
phone.
He
goes
man,
mr
jordana
man.
You
came
so
close
to
getting
that
job,
and
that
was
my
hometown,
I'm
from
new
orleans.
He
goes,
he
says,
but
the
guy
that
got
the
job
took
a
leave
of
absence
from
his
job
in
alexandria,
louisiana
and
helped
buddy
put
his
show
together.
V
He
said
we
had
to
go
with
him
man
and
when
I
hung
up,
I
cried
like
a
baby,
nothing
against
port
off
the
beaumont
orange
texas,
but
I
didn't
feel
like
at
home,
but
when
I
moved
here
to
the
gulf
coast
in
june
of
1979,
this
has
been
home
for
43
years.
Thanks
to
the
people
like
you,
let's
say
I
got
20
seconds
and
I
just
want
to
thank
the
first
person
that
I
met
was
billy
lyons
from
biloxi.
He
became
the
boxing
commissioner
and
the
first
thing
he
asked
me
when
I
ran
into
him.
V
He
said
aj
where'd,
you
move,
I
said.
Well,
I
moved
to
gulfport
because
at
the
time
I
said,
I
want
to
be
close
to
the
I-10,
so
I
can
go
home
to
visit
with
my
mom
every
sunday
we
always
had
sunday
dinner
unless
I
was
covering
the
saints
or
or
some
event,
and
he
goes.
Why
do
you
move
he's
got
you
know
what
he
needs
to
go?
Why
don't
you
move
to
to
biloxi
man
we're
more
like
new
orleans
people
and,
I
have
to
admit,
I'm
very
friendly.
V
This
is
home
and
I
want
to
thank
everybody,
because
this
is
where
I'm
going
to
be
buried
as
well.
Thank
you
all
very
much
and
I
want
to
before
I
leave
I
better
my
family's
over
there
thanks
to
them
too,
because
they
put
up
a
lot
of
stuff.
I
was
away
from
home
a
lot,
so
thank
you
all
as
well.
Thank
you.
B
B
As
they
come
up,
we're
going
to
go
ahead
and
start
introducing
each
one.
First
up
is
anna
marie
gaines.
She
ran
track
and
field
for
nichols,
junior,
high
and
senior
high
and
the
nichols
independent
team.
She
led
nichols
to
first
place
awards
in
the
200
and
300
relay
her
community
service
efforts
include
working
as
a
substitute
teacher,
the
elks
youth
education
program
and
helping
preserve
coast
history
as
a
volunteer
with
the
coast
wide
mlk
program
and
parade.
That's
anna,
marie
gaines.
K
W
Good
afternoon
I'm
coach
windham
and
I
started
my
coaching
at
nichols
in
1965.,
but
what
I
want
to
say
before
I
turn
it
over
to
my
track
stars.
They
wanted
about
every
meet
that
we
went
to.
They
were
good
runners
and
I
just
couldn't
understand
why
they
were
so
good.
But
let
me
say
to
the
committee:
thank
you
for
selecting
them.
They
were
the
best
best
I
ever
had.
But
let
me
talk
about
beaumont
texas.
W
W
So
we
got
enough
money
to
take
her
to
beaumont
texas
and
she
won.
She
didn't
win
25
colleges,
but
she
participated
against
25
colleges
and
she
did
well
but
finding
this
article
here
before
I
came
to
biloxi.
It
said
this
article
said
she
was
a
blessed
athlete
in
the
seventh
grade
is
when
she
went
to
beaumont,
texas
and
also
in
the
seventh
grade.
W
W
She
could
win
all
over
and
now
she's
a
minister
at
saint
paul
he's
the
saint
paul
church
in
new
staff,
mississippi
she's
a
she's
a
minister
now,
but
I
had
the
greatest
and
I'm
gonna.
Let
them
tell
about
the
ones
that
they
won
and
at
biloxi
high
school.
I
also
cut
track
and
basketball
and
all
these
of
the
championship,
darlene
james,
raise
your
hand.
Darlene
darlene
won
the
state
and
she
was
the
best
in
the
state
of
mississippi
and
it
was
raining
just
like.
W
X
Good
afternoon
thanks
the
biloxi
sports
hall
of
fame
for
selecting
myself
and
my
teammates
as
hall
of
famers,
I
got
my
start
in
running
when
my
mother
used
to
ask
me
to
go
to
the
store
because
she
was
cooking
and
she
needed
a
greeting
that
she
didn't
have
and
for
me
to
go
and
hurry
back
as
fast
as
I
could.
So
she
can
get
this
food
done.
X
That's
why
I
got
my
first
running
experience
from,
and
I
want
to
thank
miss
windham,
mr
windham,
and
I
don't
want
to
forget
coach
dillworth
when
they
had
on
that
that
we
ran.
We
were
independent
team
that
was
the
year
that
we
integrated,
biloxi
high,
did
not
have
a
girls
track
team,
so
coach,
dear
work
took
us
in,
we
ran
for
nichols
junior
high.
X
When
we
went
to
the
districts
to
run,
we
had
to
run
the
junior
high
races
and
the
senior
high
races
and
we
won
all
of
them,
but
we
could
not
get
any
recognition
because
we
were
independent.
We
were
not
under
any
particular
school,
so
we
don't
want
to
forget
him
because
he
was
a
big
part
of
our
last
year.
Of
running
together,
thank
you.
B
Next
up
is
bobby
booth,
lombarger,
a
speedster
on
the
nichols,
junior
and
senior
high
track
team
and
the
nichols
independent
team
earned
awards
and
relays
the
50
and
75
yard
dash
and
long
jump
after
her
glory
days
on
the
track.
She
served
the
community
with
after
school
and
summer
programs
for
youth,
bobby
booth,
lombarger.
Y
You
can
be
a
cathedral
long
and
tall,
but
only
what
I
do
for
christ
shall
ask
to
rarely
to
sherry
bell
and
the
fourth
hall
of
fame.
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
coach
mayor
fupo
gilligan.
Thank
you
for
honoring
us
today.
I
ran
a
lot
in
my
days.
I
used
to
run
at
home.
My
mother
had
eight
children
and
we
was
a
sports
group
all
by
ourselves.
We
had
football,
we
had
track.
Y
We
had
everything
in
that
house
and
that's
how
we
grew
up
to
be
sportsman.
My
mother
was
a
broad
jumper,
also
a
track
runner
and
that's
just
passed
down
for
her
generation
of
children.
I
would
like
to
thank
this
track
team,
my
sister
brenda,
boop,
tillman
anna
guys
and
deborah,
because
we
always
came
first
but
mrs
wilhelm,
let
it
look
short
on
me
when
we
went
to
texas,
I
got
in
the
lane
and
we
had
to
wear
cliques
and
those
girls
they
was
going
by
so
fast.
I
look
where
they
going.
Y
When
I
looked
up,
I
read
there
beside
a
lot
of
them.
I
came
in
third
place,
those
college
girls.
Let
me
know
there
are
some
more
fast
people
in
the
world
besides
me,
but
we
ain't
but
lucky.
I
just
didn't
know
that,
and
I
want
to
thank
y'all
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart
for
allowing
me
to
get
in
the
hall
of
fame
in
biloxi.
Thank
you.
Z
I
am
so
nervous
good
evening
everyone
and
thank
you
all
for
being
here.
I
would
like
to
start
off
by
thanking
god
for
always
me
allowing
to
stand
here
before
you
all
today.
It
is
such
an
honor
and
a
blessing
to
be
indicted
into
the
hall
of
fame,
and
I
am
deeply
humble
and
grateful
for
this
opportunity.
I
would
also
like
to
thank
my
family
and
friends
who
have
supported
me
throughout
my
journey.
Z
I
would
like
to
recognize:
miss
ashley,
miss
gloria
dearworth
and
my
track
team
for
nichols
and
miss
shirley
woodhead
my
track
team
from
biloxi
high.
Thank
you
all
both
for
playing
a
very
important
role
in
my
life.
Now,
I
am
don't
think
my
needs
will
allow
me
to
run
around
track
anymore,
but
I
really
really
enjoy
it
for
younger
days.
Z
Your
coaching
have
helped
me
mold
me
into
the
woman
that
I
am
today,
and
I
appreciate
both
of
you
for
the
for
that,
and
I
also
enjoy
playing
softball
for
the
city
of
biloxi,
which
kept
me
active
and
out
out
out
of
trouble
after
two
after
22
years
of
working
at
meridian
health
hospital.
I
was
recognized
as
employee
of
the
quarter
and
about
a
week
later
I
was
notified
of
my
in
the
indict
induction
in
the
hall
of
flame.
Z
I
have
held
many
different
jobs
and
varieties
of
fear,
and
while
I
was
raising
only
my
two
sons,
but
also
my
nephew,
it
has
been
always
been
easy,
but
god
always
provided
me
made
a
way.
I
would
like
to
close
with
a
quote
from
stephen
cory:
it's
been
hardest
working
person.
You
can
be
that's
how
you
separate
yourself
from
competition.
B
And
next
up
is
brenda
booth,
tillman,
a
track
and
field
star
at
nichols,
junior
and
senior
high
and
at
nichols
independence
team
with
bobby
booth,
londberger
anna,
marie
gaines
and
shirley
berle
and
shirley
bullard.
She
was
part
of
the
award-winning
200
and
300
relay
team,
that
dominated
from
1968
to
1971.
AA
AA
Evening
would
like
to
thank
you,
miss
woodham
for
being
my
coach,
my
teammates.
They
don't
set
everything,
so
I
really
don't
have
that
much
to
say,
but
I
would
just
like
to
thank
sheri
berry
and
everyone
and
I'm
like
forwards,
gump.
That's
all
I
have
to
say
about
that.
B
Next
up
is
george
bubba
misko.
His
daughter
betty
misko,
will
be
accepting
the
award
on
his
behalf.
B
AB
I
can
assure
you
my
father
wishes
he
could
be
here
today,
and
god
knows
myself
and
my
entire
family
wishes
he
could
be
with
us
today,
but
his
failing
health
will
not
allow
that.
So
we
are
here
and
honored
to
be
here
on
his
behalf,
george
bubba
misko,
the
man
that
I
am
blessed
to
call
my
daddy
webster
defines
warrior
as
a
brave,
a
brave
or
experienced
soldier
or
fighter.
AB
AB
AB
AB
AB
AB
AB
My
aunt
and
uncle's
brother
and
my
children's
papa
as
we
used
to
know
him,
but
he
still
has
the
same
fighting
spirit
and
he
is
actually
doing
very
well
now.
In
his
retirement
home
he
dances
with
the
nurses,
as
you
can
imagine,
to
elvis
presley,
jitterbugs
very
social
and
everyone
loves
him,
so
he
is
in
a
good
place,
but
he
is
ready
at
any
time
when
the
lord
is
ready
to
see
my
mom.
AB
Thank
you
to
everyone
for
this
honor,
especially
during
the
the
twilight
years
of
his
life,
for
recognizing
him
for
his
exemplary
talent,
and
he
would
be
very
humbled
if
he
were
standing
here
himself,
but
I
can
assure
you
this
will
go
to
collins
mississippi
for
him
to
see
and
he
will
to
and
to
remember
that
he
was
honored.
Thank
you
very
much.

Thomas

spent
more
than
30
years
helping
shape
young
athletes
he's
been
a
baseball
soccer
and
softball
coach
for
boys
and
girls
served
as
a
league
president
district

as
well
as
an

His
efforts
as
a

have
helped
teach
thousands
of
young

a

AC
Well,
I've
been
involved
in
youth
sports
for
32
years.
It's
a
long
time.
First,
I
got
involved
because
of
my
kids
and
now
I
don't
have
that.
Excuse
anymore,
my
daughter's
31
and
I'm
still
here
so
I
I
always
wanted
to
be
an
assistant
coach,
never
wanted
to
be
the
head
coach.
I
just
wanted
to
work
with
the
kids.
AC
AC
We
went
through
three
presidents
in
about
six
months
and
they
basically
begged
me
to
take
over
the
girl.
Softball
said
we
really
need
you,
I
could
have
denied
it,
but
thinking
back
at
the
time
the
girls
deserve
every
bit
the
opportunity,
the
guys
get,
and
I
was
committed
to
make
sure
the
girls
had
every
opportunity.
AC
I
now
consider
myself
councilman
florence's
replacement.
I
have
his.
I
have
his
old
job
and
trying
to
do
the
best
I
can
for
the
kids.
Now
you
get
that
now
when
they
come
to
register.
You
know
at
first
it
was
you
coached
me,
and
so
that's
kind
of
telling,
and
so
you
kind
of
get
over
that
well
now,
grandmas
are
coming
to
come
register
their
kids
and
they
look
at
it.
AC
As
I
see
the
job
parks,
the
rex
does
every
day
year
and
I
know
the
support
that
the
city
gives
and
the
excellent
opportunities
that
they
provide.
I
have
I
have
what
I
need.
We
do
the
best
we
can.
We
try
to
be
good,
fiduciary
responsibility
and
what
the
city
offers
and
do
the
best
job
we
can
not
a
week
goes
by.
AC
I'd
like
to
thank
all
the
players
as
you
get
older,
you
start
reflecting
back
and
I
come
up
with
a
whole
bunch
of
goofy
goofy
ass
sayings.
One
of
those
is
those
trophies
won't
love
you
back,
your
kids.
Will
girls,
don't
know
how
don't
care,
how
much
you
know
until
they
know
how
much
you
care
and
I've
learned
that
a
whole
bunch
and
I've
got
a
whole
bunch
of
kids
that
care
about
me
and
I
care
about
them
and
a
big
huge,
extended
family
there.
AC
Some
of
those
are
actually
good
things,
but
most
of
them
are
the
most
important
things
in
life
about
about
about
the
game,
about
the
players
and
about
education
and
everything
else.
So
the
my
son
decided
that
maybe
I
wasn't
the
best
coach,
and
so
I
I
became
a
much
better
coach
with
my
daughter
and
since
she's
since
she's
aged
out,
like
13
years
ago.
I've
become
a
lot
better
coach.
AC
Since
then,
I
had
lots
of
mentors
and
and
friends
along
the
way,
roger
smith
who,
who
nominated
me
chris
mcgee's
in
the
room,
lots
of
lots
of
other
friends
a
supportive
wife
is,
is
very,
very
important.
I
spent
a
lot
of
nights
away
from
the
ball
field.
I
spent
a
lot
of
weekends
away
for
the
ball
field.
We
have
a
lot
of
junk
in
our
house
that
takes
up,
takes
up
a
lot
of
room
in
our
house,
and
she
gives
me
the
freedom
and
the
ability
to
go.
Do
that
so
without
a
supportive
wife.
AC
This
none
of
this
would
happen
another
one
of
my
sayings
is,
I
tell
my
kids
all
the
time.
Is
we
all?
We
don't
play
the
game
for
trophies
we
play
for
all
the
great
things,
a
game.
Teaches
you
the
the
biggest
the
biggest
thing
there
is
we
play
the
game
to
make
our
mom
and
dad
happy
if
we
can
walk
away
and
our
mom
or
dad
gives
us
a
hug
or
embrace
and
everything
else
and
tells
you
good
job?
AC
That's
the
only
trophy
that
you
ever
need.
So
I
hope
I
hope
my
mom's
here
today.
The
I
hope
I've
made
you
proud,
and
I
will
continue
to
work
that
way.
Thank
you
very
much
and
thank
you
city
of
blessing.

I
got
one
little
story.
I
want
to
tell
you
that
happened
to
me
a
few
years
ago,
my
last
year
doing
pee
wee
football.
You
know
I've
done
high
school
football
from
1971
to
2021,
but
I
started
my
career
doing
pee
wee
football
in
biloxi
in
1970.,
so
in
2019
my
last
year
doing
peewee
football.
AG
You
know
he
stops
in
the
middle
of
the
field.
The
daddy
does
and
says
you
know
you
referee.
When
I
played
okay,
that's
possible,
you
know
very,
very
easy,
you
know
so
then
I
see
another
older
fella
coming
over.
He
comes
up
to
me
says:
will
you
referee
when
I
play
well?
This
is
the
little
boy's
grandpa.
AG
B
AH
AH
AH
AH
God
has
always
been
my
vision
and
in
the
process
he's
given
me
the
strength
to
do
the
things
that
I've
done.
I've
had
the
opportunity
to
coach
in
california
louisiana,
mississippi,
ohio,
and
when
I
came
back
here
from
ohio,
I
really
wanted
to
start
working
with
the
biloxi
school
system
and
they
pretty
much
just
didn't
have
anything
for
me.
So
I
went
to
ocean
springs
since
being
at
ocean
springs.
AH
If
I
can
give
you
guys
anything
tonight
to
take
with
you
from
this
process,
is
that
god
has
taught
me
that
the
our
greatest
access
all
is
our
kids
without
them.
We
cannot
accomplish
anything
and
he's
told
me
that
we
will.
We
need
to
always
focus
on
our
children,
because
they
are
the
future
leaders
and
they
will
carry
us
too.
Thank
you
very
much.
AI
Good
afternoon
I
started
in
little
league
baseball
right
out
of
high
school
as
an
umpire
at
rose
street
and
I'm
pod
for
two
years,
and
then
I
run
into
uncle
bob
and
he
made
me
move
to
southern
league.
So
I'm
bought
one
year
as
a
umpire
at
southern
league
and
the
reason
I
only
unpopped
one
year.
There
was
this
one
team
ain't
won
a
game
in
two
years.
AI
It's
like
a
bunch
of
ants
running
around,
so
we
come
up
with
the
rules
that
they
put
the
fastest
kid
on
a
pitcher's
mound
and
the
ground
ball.
The
kid
would
pick
it
up
and
outrun
the
kid
to
first
base.
So
he
said
you
know
we're
not
teaching
these
kids
anything.
You
have
to
throw
the
ball
to
first,
so
the
kid's
safe.
That
way.
The
kid
learns
how
to
throw
the
kid
on
first
learns
how
to
catch.
AI
So
then,
the
next
step
was
in
coach
pitch
to
teach
the
kids
how
to
hit
and
then,
when
they
got
to
mono
league
we
developed
pitching
so
when
they
got
to
little
league,
they
knew
how
to
play
baseball.
Well,
guess
what
it
started
working.
We
started
winning
state
championships,
and
I
mean
the
kids
appreciated
learning
and
it
was
very
competitive.
AI
The
whole
way
up,
I've
had
one
coach
one
year
picked
a
kid
that
was
terrible
in
tryouts,
and
I
said
why
did
you
pick
him?
He
said
he's
the
best
kid
in
the
league.
I
said
he
couldn't
do
nothing.
He
said
yeah.
I
made
him
try
out
with
a
left-handed
glove
on,
so
nobody
else
would
pick
him
so
so
that
that's
how
competitive
it
was.
But
what
made
it
so
special
was
all
the
coaches
in
the
league
was
there
to
help
the
kids,
so
the
main
thing
was
develop.
AI
The
kids
and
it
wasn't
a
better
honor
than
to
see
the
kids,
you
coach,
playing
high
school
baseball
and
then
college,
and
then
I
had
a
nephew
that
we
coached
ended
up
in
the
college
world
series,
which
was
a
great
honor.
So
I
want
to
thank
my
family,
the
city,
sherry
bell,
but
mostly
important.
I
want
to
thank
the
kids
for
buying
into
the
program
and
allow
us
to
coach
them
all
these
years.

while
also
coaching

in

chose

at

thus
integrating
the
league
that
same

he

team
in

basketball,
peewee
football
and
peewee
baseball.

basketball,
his

softball
team,
was
named
city
champs
that
year
as
well,
bobby

I
50
years
ago
this
month,
bobby
miguez
was
the
manager
of
our
1972
southern
little
league
state
championship
team
and
that
little
league
park
right
now
is
an
appropriate
name,
taught
me
guest
park
and
I'll
tell
you
a
little
story:
ronnie
kosmeier!
Please
come
up
here
when
we
won
the
state
championship.
I
We
had
a
hard
time
going
to
saint
petersburg
florida.
Our
league
president,
mr
mitchell,
gruwich,
our
coach,
ronnie
kosmeier
and
our
manager
bobby
mugas.
They
called
williamsport
pennsylvania
and
said
we're
having
a
hard
time
here.
We
just
through
getting
over
hurricane
camille
and
we're
having
a
hard
time
getting
to
st
petersburg.
I
Well,
williamsport
sent
money
to
our
little
league
and
our
coach
managers
league
president
parents
raised
money
and
we
got
to
fly.
We
thought
we
were
big
time
on
an
airplane.
We
didn't
know
at
the
time,
but
that
was
just
warm
up
for
barry
lyons.
I
I
AJ
Can
y'all
hear
me
back
there?
I
want
everybody
to
be
sure
to
hear
me.
Thank
you
boys.
I
love
you
all.
I
love
y'all.
First
of
all
I
want
to
thank
god.
I
want
to
thank
my
family.
I
want
to
thank
my
coaches
that
put
up
with
me
for
so
many
years.
They
couldn't
wait
to
hurry
up
and
get
away
from
me.
They
said
lord
get
away
from
that
man
uncle
bobby.
AJ
I
also
without
these
kids.
I
never
would
have
been
where
I
met
today,
every
one
of
them,
no
matter
whether
it
was
t-ball
girl,
softball,
basketball,
football.
I
love
every
one
of
y'all
and
the
thing
I
want
to
tell
y'all
tonight
is
more
than
anything
in
the
world.
I
left
out
a
couple
of
things
on
my
thing
for
sherry.
I
want
to
recognize
the
first
girl
who
played
in
the
state
of
mississippi
on
a
little
league
ball
team,
miss
kim
porter.
AJ
Next
thing
I
want
to
do
without
any
further
to
do.
In
my
three
minutes:
ain't
not
started
yet.
I
want
to
recognize
some
very
good
people
who
helped
me
throughout
this
thing.
I
was
a
little
league
administrator
for
12
years
upon
all
the
coaching
and
stuff
that
I
did.
I
had
coach
little
league
president
little
league
vice
president
little
league
player
agent
and
umpire
as
george,
can
tell
you
that's
the
hardest
game
game
in
the
world,
but
without
y'all,
michael,
where
you
at
mike
stand
up
for
a
minute
harry
kosma.
AJ
Those
two
were
my
first
two
appointees.
When
I
became
little
league
administrator,
I
couldn't
do
it
by
myself:
recovered
from
memphis
all
the
way
to
the
coast,
louisiana
line
to
the
alabama
line.
They
helped
me
get
this
thing
started,
and
I
appreciate
it.
It'll
always
stay
with
me,
although
sometimes
we
look
at
things
a
little
bit
different
elton.
Don't
look
at
me
like
that,
but
we'd
look
at
things
a
little
bit
different
when
we're
standing
up
here
and
it's
not
easy
to
get
up
here
and
talk
for
some
people.
AJ
For
me
I
can
talk
two
or
three
days
and
don't
even
know
what
I'm
saying,
but
I
want
to
thank
sherry
bell
for
putting
up
with
me
the
last
two
or
three
months
here
when
I
found
out
that
I
was
going
to
be
inducted
into
this
hall
of
fame.
I
want
to
thank
brian
dubass
for
putting
me
in
and
where
he
had
vince
well.
Vincent
already
left
vincent
went
to
work
with
the
city
to
get
me
where
I'm
at
right
now
and
without
those
two
guys
I'll
probably
still
be
sitting
there
wondering.
AJ
When
am
I
ever
going
to
get
here?
You
know
how
that
goes,
but
we
had
a
good
team
in
1972
the
best
team.
I
know
there's
a
lot
of
y'all
out
there,
richard
hickenbottom
and
a
couple
more.
I
think
that
the
six
what
was
a
63
anyway,
it
was
a
good
team.
They
went
further
than
I
did,
but
the
only
thing
that
reason
my
team
didn't
go
any
further.
Is
I
got
down
there
and
I'm
never
going
to
say
this
again,
but
I'm
going
to
say
it
tonight.
I
got
shell
shot.
AJ
I've
never
seen
so
many
people
in
the
doggone
stands.
I
didn't
know
what
I
was
doing.
Ronnie
was
sitting
over
there
saying
what
we're
going
to
do
now.
I
said
I
don't
have
the
first
blanket
to
blame
blake
what
we're
going
to
do,
but
anyway
I
started
the
wrong
picture,
not
because
he
wasn't
a
good
pitcher.
He
was
a
hell
of
a
pitcher,
but
they
was
not
calling
the
curveball
back
in
those
days.
We
call
it
the
junk
ball.
They
didn't
call
that
so
here
the
little
fella
was
throwing
strikes
after
strikes.
AJ
Umpire
calling
ball
ball
ball.
So
I
called
john
pat
was
my
catcher.
I
said
come
here
what
the
heck
is
going
on.
He
said
uncle
bobby.
They
just
ain't
calling.
So
I
brought
big
jake
in
man
of
steel
iron.
Both
of
those
boys
are
in
heaven
now.
I
hope,
but
I'll
tell
you
this
one
thing
right
now:
big
jake
held
them
from
then
on
out,
but
we
just
couldn't
catch
up.
Those
things
happened.
AJ
I
know
y'all
tired,
won't
go
home
and
eat,
but
all
I
can
say
is
my
girls
softball
team.
They
didn't
go
undefeated,
but
they
did
win
the
doggone
city
championship,
my
basketball
team.
We
won
22-0.
I
think
it
was
something
like
that
we
got
invited
to
go
to
hattiesburg
and
play
in
the
state
tournament,
but
there
was
a
catch
to
that.
They
wanted
70
275
to
come
in.
I
talked
to
mr
snyder.
I
said
what
we're
going
to
do.
AJ
He
said
I
can't
do
it
if
I
do
it
for
you
I'll
have
to
do
it
for
everybody
else.
So
we
understood
that
and
we
left
our
little
football
team.
We
won.
All
the
city
league
beat
everybody
that
would
stuff
up
in
front
of
us.
We
went
to
the
albaville,
we
played
st
martin,
the
albaville
and
ocean
springs,
and
we
come
back
with
a
trophy
little
league,
peewee
softball
football,
I'm
getting
confused
now
football
football
championship
and
I
carried
that
trophy
stayed
at
higginbottom's.
AJ
Grocery
for
oh
three,
five
six
years
then
miss
higginbotham
said
he
was
going
to
close
up
the
grocery
store.
So
we
took
the
trophy
and
then
carried
it
to
gone
flow,
school,
sherry
bell
and
I
looked
through
all
the
trophies
that
we
had
at
the
recreation
department
and
we
couldn't
find
it
at
school.
The
lady
says
the
principal
there
she's
she
said
uncle
bobby.
