From YouTube: Biloxi Covid 19 Update 4 5 2020
Description
Increasing numbers; business closures; safety and reassurance
A
Hello,
I'm
Mayor,
fofo
Gillick,
it's
Sunday,
April
5th
at
2:00
in
the
afternoon,
we've
been
doing
these
be
prepared
videos
for
two
weeks
now
we're
in
a
state
of
emergency
we've
seen
the
closing
level
of
non
central
businesses
in
many
public
spaces,
and
a
curfew
now
runs
every
day
from
11
p.m.
to
5
a.m.
the
next
morning
to
stop
this
virus.
We
asked
everyone
to
please
limit
their
travel
and
stay
clear
of
everyone
when
you
do
have
to
go
out.
A
I
want
to
say
thank
you
for
all
for
your
cooperation
and
your
understanding
I've
experienced
that
from
a
lot
of
you
every
day.
Also,
every
day
we've
been
tracking
the
Koba
19
numbers
I
want
to
show
you
a
graphic
of
those
numbers:
State
Health
Department
reports.
As
of
10:00
a.m.
this
morning,
statewide
1638
tested
positive
today
up
183
from
yesterday.
It
was
up
97
the
day
before
that
there's
been
35
deaths
attributed
to
Koba
19.
A
We
haven't
seen
the
peak
yet,
but
we're
praying
it
comes.
Sometimes
in
the
next
few
weeks,
the
mayors
and
other
officials
in
our
area
teleconference
two
times
a
week,
connect
with
state
and
federal
leaders.
As
needed
to
take
actions
that
is
needed,
as
various
situations
arise,
I
wanted
that
the
city
implement
emergency
staffing,
beginning
on
Monday,
to
help
prevent
the
spread
of
the
virus
and
to
protect
employees
we'll
be
operating
with
only
the
staff
necessary
to
ride
this
thing
out.
The
rest
will
be
on
paid
administrative
leave.
It's
like
another.
A
One
of
those
steps
that
we
take
in
preparation
for
our
hurricane,
all
fire
and
police
will
be
on
the
job,
including
all
of
our
Virgin
Sea.
Dispatches
employees
will
be
called
as
needed,
we'll
be
here
to
serve.
You
do
not
be
scared.
Everyone
across
our
great
country
is
going
through
the
same
thing
just
remain
vigilant.
You've
seen
a
lot
of
businesses,
clothes
and
other
things,
not
in
normal
operations.
Things
like
grocery
stores,
banks,
gas
stations,
food
outlets,
public
utility,
the
government
will
remain
open.
