From YouTube: Biloxi Covid 19 Update 4 23 2020
Description
Mayor Gilich give updated numbers; talks reopening planning
A
Hello,
I'm
fofo
village,
mayor
of
Biloxi,
it's
Thursday,
April
23rd
3
p.m.
today,
the
State
Department
of
Health
reports,
5153
Kovan,
19
positives
in
Mississippi,
that's
up
259
from
yesterday.
It
was
up
178
the
day
before
that
there
has
been
201
deaths,
statewide
up
8
from
yesterday
in
the
state,
a
total
of
55
thousand
three
hundred
and
eighty
nine
people
tested
for
the
virus.
10900
68
by
the
Department
of
Health
44,000
421
by
other
labs,
make
no
mistake:
there
are
more
cases
out
there.
A
Governor
Reeves
has
not
lifted
shelter
in
place
and
the
closure
of
non-essential
businesses
for
us
on
the
coast,
our
health
care
system
and
our
health
care
providers
and
first
responders
have
been
amazing
and
have
not
been
overwhelmed.
Thanks
to
what
you've
done
over
the
last
weeks,
keep
doing
it
wash
your
hands,
keep
your
distance
and
stay
out
of
large
groups.
Ninety
nine
percent
of
citizens
get
it
and
are
doing.
What's
right
to
stop
this
thing.
I'll
tell
you
right
now.
No
one
gets
more
upset
than
me
with
the
one
percent
who
don't
get
it.
A
Let
me
also
express
my
appreciation
to
each
and
every
employee
of
the
city
of
Biloxi.
We've
been
in
an
emergency
personnel
mode
and
they've
been
extraordinary
of
our
600
plus
employees.
Only
11
have
tested
positive
with
the
virus
and
all
those
were
back
at
work.
They've
been
doing
the
right
things.
As
of
this
Monday
I
will
be
lifting
the
emergency
personnel
order
and
their
whole
team
will
be
on
the
field
and
back
in
the
ball
game.
A
I
think
everyone
is
feeling
what
I
feel
it's
time
to
get
back
to
normal,
but
just
like
the
doctor
tells
you
don't
stop
taking
your
medicine,
because
you're
feeling
better
finish
the
prescription
and
it
won't
come
back.
We've
been
reading
opening
up
America
again
his
president
Trump's
phased
approach
to
getting
our
country
going.
He
will
be,
depending
on
the
governor's,
to
assess
conditions
and
utilize.
A
A
Personal
hygiene
and
protection,
sanitation
measures
for
each
business
in
their
employees
and
contact
tracing
your
local
health
care
network
must
have
the
PPE
doctors,
nurses,
hospital
beds
and
other
things
that
would
be
needed
if
hotspots
break
out
again,
contract
tracing
will
provide
the
cross
section
of
people
in
places
that
the
CDC
and
the
state
health
departments
need
to
address
break
outs
when
and
if
they
occur.
These
measures
are
meant
to
keep
the
virus,
both
koban
19
and
the
flu
in
check,
though,
through
the
course
of
this
pandemic.
A
Many
of
these
measures
described
in
the
plan
were
only
partially
done,
but
there
will
be
an
integral
part
of
the
recovery
plan.
The
mayor's
County
and
other
officials
continue
to
teleconference
on
Tuesdays
and
Fridays.
We
will
continue
to
be
on
the
same
page
as
we
go
forward.
I
expect
the
recovery
will
be
the
main
course
for
tomorrow's
meeting.
I
also
expect
it
will
be
the
topic
for
governor
Reeves,
his
upcoming
message.
We
have
scheduled
discussions
with
owners,
businesses
and
organizations
designated
nine
central
that
have
been
closed.

Biloxi
my
foundation
was
laid
by
immigrants,
hard

who

and
bought

built

and
