Description
Mayor Andrew "FoFo" Gilich was joined by Secretary of State Michael Watson, Supervisor Beverly Martin and others for a ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon on Phase 2 of the West Biloxi boardwalk.
A
Two
of
the
west
beach
boardwalk,
we
have
secretary
of
state,
michael
watson
with
us.
We
have
ray
carter
also
with
the
secretary
of
state.
We
have,
of
course,
mayor
gilles.
We
have
harrison
county
supervisor,
beverly,
martin,
general,
joe's
dragons
of
mississippi
department
of
marine
resources,
pam
harrison
county
administrator
dax,
alexander
with
brown
mitchell
and
alexander
council
members,
paul
tisdale,
george
lawrence
and
kenny
glavin.
A
This
phase
of
the
project
was
completed
in
approximately
200
days
and
is
about
2100
feet
long
from
veteran
from
veterans
avenue
to
right
here
where
we
are
standing
at
the
foot
of
camellia
street.
Of
course
it
connects
to
phase
one
which
runs
from
near
rosenberg
avenue
to
veterans.
This
is
a
joint
project
with
the
city
county
and
state
and
has
been
a
vision
of
mayor
gilleg,
a
vision
for
residents
and
visitors
to
enjoy
one
of
our
most
important
assets
or
waterfront.
A
B
You
very
much
what
a
beautiful
view,
obviously
I'm
very
proud
to
be
from
the
coast
and
when
I
can
come
down
as
the
secretary
of
state
and
participate
in
an
event
like
this,
we
talk
about
working
together
across
the
city
lines,
county
lines
with
the
dmr
good
friend
those
dragons
back.
There
appreciate
all
of
you
being
here
again,
it's
it's
fun
for
me
to
come
down
to
the
coast
being
from
here
and
seeing
a
project
like
this
that
really
accents
the
beauty
of
the
coast.
We
see
mississippians
come
down
to
enjoy
this.
B
B
Obviously,
there's
much
left
to
do
along
the
coast,
and
I
want
to
make
sure
that
people
understand
I'm
committed
to
making
sure
the
coast
has
everything
that
it
has
to
offer
that
we
accented
by
things
like
this
by
projects
like
this
that
are
going
to
bring
economic
development
they're
going
to
bring
tourism
again
to
access
the
beauty
of
the
coast,
and
I
can
continue
talking.
But
that's
enough
from
here.
Thank
you
for
being
here,
mr
mayor.
Thank
you.
C
Words
too
yeah
just
a
few
words,
but
I
do
want
to
thank
you
when
they
say
it
takes
a
village,
but
it's
more
like
a
big
subdivision.
You
know
that
it
took
to
do
this
and
secretary
of
state,
and
you
know
let
me
kind
of
thank
everyone.
You
know,
of
course
you
know
I
want
to
remember:
buzzy
bolton
both
an
association,
and
I
had
a
few
little
arguments.
C
Some
people
say
arguments
with
discussions
with
his
vision
and
how
we
would
roll
it
out
with
and
around
mitchell
and
alexander
and
coachella
coaching
and
the
secretary
of
state
on
what
we
needed
to
do
to
to.
To
put
this,
I
think
a
truly
significant
opportunity
for
our
visitors
in
visitation
cece,
you
mentioned,
I
think
this
part
of
it
done
by
noah,
like
the
zombies
construction.
C
I
want
to
thank
him
and
and
doing
it
on
time
and
under
budget,
and
I
think
we
had
another
3
000
feet
on
the
other
side,
but
that
brings
me
to
numbers
now
the
book.
This
truly
is
a
boardwalk
and
it
took
them.
You
know
a
major
test
without
really
failing
at
all
eleven
foot
comfortable.
C
So
you
know
it
was
done
right
and
we're
hopeful
again.
Alexia
has
31
000
linear
feet
of
opportunity
to
walk
and
enjoy
and
smell
and
feel
what
you're
seeing
right
now
this
is,
you
know,
between
the
two
about
five
thousand.
Our
next
phase
between
oak
street
and
the
small
craft
store
is
about
five
thousand
and
generally
we're
doing
a
little
test
program
right
there
with
a
knee
wall.
That's
going
to
keep
the
sand
over
here
and
not
over
there.
So
that's
five
thousand
of
the
seventeen
thousand
linear
feet
that
we're
gonna
go.
C
We've
got
opportunities
as
you
see
to
head
that,
so
you
can
walk
from
the
beach
road
to
the
bridge
and
that
side,
vision
and
even
behind
the
bridge.
So
we're
thankful,
I'm
thankful
to
buzzy
and
thanks
to
bma
noah,
you
know
everybody
that
hit.
You
know,
of
course,
our
city
council.
You
know
I
had
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
danny.
A
D
But
anyway
yeah
it
turned
out
great,
and
I
want
to
thank
chuck
loftus
in
particular
for
cleaning
it
up
for
us
before
during
after
ceda
as
well
as
today,
because
it's
been
very
windy
and
the
sand
has
been
here.
So.
Thank
you
chuck.
I
appreciate
that
jackie
turner,
our
harrison
county
engineer,
who
played
a
role
in
this,
but
our
next
big
step
in
conjunction
with
and
at
the
same
time
as
phase
three
is
the
boat
launch,
which
is
going
to
be
right
here
to
my
left.
D
It'll
be
two
boat
slips
and
parking
for
60
to
80
trucks
and
trailers,
because
you
know
you
don't
just
bring
one
vehicle
when
you
launch
a
boat,
but
in
the
five
years
I've
been
in
office.
That's
been
my
number
one
request
that
I've
received
is
for
additional
boat
launches,
so
there's
a
rendering
over
here.
If
y'all
want
to
look
at
it
and
we'll
tweak
it,
but
so
far
it
looks
like
we're
waiting
on
one
more
permit.
