Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Also,
okay,
the
motion
carries.
D
On
the
screen,
you
can
see
our
monthly
statistics
for
December.
We
are
down.
We
were
down
in
adult
arrest
compared
to
2021
again,
the
majority
of
our
nuisance
calls
for
the
month
of
December,
involve
disturbance,
calls
and
a
great
deal
of
noise
calls
if
you'll
go
to
the
next
slide
there.
D
In
our
neighbors
reporting
categories,
November
and
December
of
2022.
You
can
see
that,
as
is
typical
for
the
winter
months,
we
stayed
high
in
traffic
accidents,
but
many
of
our
other
crime
areas,
property
crimes,
crimes
against
persons
reduced
down,
which
is
common
for
our
November
and
December
time
frames.
D
Continuing
on
aggravated
assaults
were
were
reduced
as
as
well
as
simple
assaults.
We
did
see
an
uptick
in
reported
sex
offenses.
Much
of
that
increase
is
due
to
our
detectives,
working
with
the
state
police
on
the
crimes
against
children,
team
and
multiple
reports
coming
in
from
around
the
region,
not
just
the
city.
D
If
we
go
to
the
next
yep,
we
saw
thefts
and
vandalisms
reduce
again
cold
weather,
that's
very
common,
just
in
general.
Those
those
crimes
that
occur
on
foot
and
in
in
areas
that
require
foot
traffic
tend
to
see
a
reduction
during
these
winter
months,
but
even
November
to
December.
We
saw
a
reduction
in
those
those
events.
D
There
you
can
see
our
crimes
against
Society,
narcotics,
arrests
or
narcotics.
Fences
were
up
a
little
bit
and
we
had
a
slight
increase
in
weapons
offenses
from
November
to
December.
D
That
it
could
be
anything
from
a
use
of
a
weapon
to
reported
intimidation
with
a
weapon.
Anything
that
would
involve
a
weapons
call
not
just
Firearms
correct.
D
You
go
to
the
next
slide.
There's
our
adult
arrest
numbers
2021
to
2022
compared
again
in
December,
we
were
down.
We
are
down
significantly
in
juvenile
referrals
from
December
of
21
to
December
of
22.
D
and
the
UCR
hate
crime.
Statistics
for
21
and
22
are
there
at
the
bottom.
We
did
see
an
uptick
from
21
to
22
in
total
numbers
of
those
events.
D
I'm
sorry,
a
reduction
I
said
uptick
a
reduction,
major
crime
crime
trends
that
we
saw
was
an
increase
in
catalytic
converter
thefts.
Our
detective
division
is
is
currently
working
that
string
of
events
and,
following
up
on
some
leads
on
those.
D
We
had
a
a
robbery
and
an
attempted
murder
case
in
the
area
of
the
Kirkwood
mobile
home
park.
Officers
were
able
to
find
that
suspect
and
detain
him
in
less
than
24
hours,
and
he
has
been
charged
and
jailed
for
training.
For
the
month
of
December,
we
had
332
hours
of
training,
which
is
a
significant
significant
increase
over
2021
some
training
highlights.
We
had
38
hours
of
mandatory
training
topics
that
went
across
all
of
our
officers.
One
of
our
officers
went
to
a
patrol
rifle
instructor
course.
D
We
had
two
new
hires
that
began
their
probationary
officer
training
course
at
the
end
of
December
and
our
canines
had
27
hours
of
training,
cert
had
90
hours
of
training,
CDU
had
56
hours
of
training,
dive
team
had
six
hours
of
training.
D
We
had
13
Community
engagements
event,
events,
which
is
a
significant
significant
increase
over
2021
and
a
significant
increase
in
community
engagement
hours
over
2021,
and
we
had
21.
D
Personnel
involved
in
community
engagement,
some
of
those
events
and
included
a
demonstration
for
athletic
trainers.
As
you
know,
we
have
a
tactical
athletic
trainer
in-house.
She
brought
in
some
athletic
training
students
so
that
they
could
get
familiar
with
that
specialty
of
that
career
field.
D
D
We
also
have
an
upcoming
tour
for
stone
belt
clients
for
BPD
in
the
training
center.
Our
social
workers
had
18
referrals
and
369
contacts
for
the
month
of
December.
Some
highlights
from
those
are
listed
up
there
and
you
can
view
those.
We
did
some
events
with
some
seniors.
We
helped
with
some
social
security
work
and
we
helped
with
some
Housing
Solutions.
D
Our
community
service
specialists
had
over
a
thousand
calls
for
service
for
the
month
of
December
again,
the
majority
of
those
are
traffic
accidents
and
extra
patrols,
but
they
also
assisted
with
a
variety
of
other
types
of
calls
through
the
month.
D
Oftentimes
abandoned
vehicles
up
there
separate,
but
usually
it's
an
illegally
parked
vehicle
that
needs
to
be
moved
because
it's
blocking
traffic
or
blocking
somebody's
private
driveway.
Something
of
that
nature.
They
will
go
and
handle
those
as
opposed
to
a
sworn
officer.
E
B
So
General
business
I
just
want
to
put
on
your
radar
that
February
9th
is
the
state
of
Public
Safety
address
that
the
mayor's
office,
the
Police
Department
fire
department
and
Community
Family
Resources
holds
I.
Think
it's
scheduled
for
12
30
in
the
afternoon
and
I'm
not
sure
the
location
has
been
finalized
yet
so,
but
it
is
on
February
9th.
B
F
We
currently
have
83
sworn
out
of
105
authorized.
We
didn't
just
have
a
sergeant
retired
last
Friday,
which
is
one
of
the
reasons
that
we
have
the
promotion
Al
this
evening
we
have
five
officers.
Two
of
them
are
already
certified.
Three
of
them
will
be
non-certified,
I'm,
sorry,
they're,
technically,
applicants
right
now
that
we
hope
to
start
on
February
6th.
As
soon
as
I
get
approval
from
the
state
pension
board.
B
B
A
So
I'll
start
with
can
I
get
a
motion
to
promote
officer,
Jordan
Hassler
to
the
rank
of
Sergeant,
effective
January,
9
2023.
and
what's
the
language
I
make
a.
G
C
H
D
G
To
start
troopers
at
70
000
and
has
like
you
know,
are
we
like
worried,
you
know
like?
Are
we
gonna?
You
know
like?
Is
that
on
the
radar.
G
F
G
G
A
A
Know
this
is
part
of
the
part
of
next
month's
report,
but
you
know
we're
hearing
about
the
bus,
stabbing
incident
and
I'm
just
wondering
what
information
you
could
share
publicly
about
kind
of
what
we
know
about
what
happened
and.
F
There's
only
certain
information
that
we
can
release,
which
would
be
included
in
I
included
in
the
news
release
because
of
I'm
not
able
to
speak
to
statements
made
by
the
suspect
or
things
that
were
learned
through
interview
or
interrogation.
F
Usually
there
are
statements
made
by
the
suspect
whether
or
not
they
admit
or
don't
admit
something
whatever
the
case
may
be.
I
can't
speak
to
that,
though,
because
of
concerns
of
you
know,
taking
a
potential
jury
pool,
or
you
know
right
now,
the
person
is
just
they're
arrested
and
they're
charged
with
that
they're
not
convicted
of
it.
So
until
it's
completely
done
in
the
court
system,
I
can't
speak
anything
further,
except
for
what
was
in
my
release,
which
you
know
kind
of
the
date
and
time
we
responded.
F
What
was
reported
to
us,
thank
goodness
there
was
a
a
bystander
that
witnessed
the
assault.
That
Then
followed
the
suspect
and
gave
us
updated
information
on
her
whereabouts
and
within
just
a
few
moments
we
were
able
to
locate
her
and
detain
her
and
actually
make
the
arrest.
A
C
H
F
Yeah,
whatever
you
can
share,
it
would
be
well
I
just
want
to
make
sure
I
I'm
able
to
provide
you
with
the
information
that
you're
requesting.
Are
you
also
talking
about
when
someone
has
found
to
be
in
possession
of
a
firearm
that
they're
not
legally
allowed
to
okay
yeah
I'll?
Try
and
pull
as
much
information
as
I
can.
Thank.
H
F
E
C
Statistics
we
had
for
City
runs.
Last
year
we
had
5089,
we
had
758
additional
to
Indiana
universities
campus
for
just
under
6.
000
total
calls,
that's
a
that's
a
record
for
us.
We've
been
seeing
that,
as
you
can
see,
with
the
red
bar
graph,
an
uptick
in
in
call
volume,
I
believe
if
you
go
back
to
2018
I
believe
we're
around
2000
more
calls
for
service
than
we
were
just
four
years
ago.
C
This
is
Indiana,
University
calls.
63
percent
of
those
almost
758
calls
were
false.
Alarm
and
again,
I
hesitate
to
call
it
a
false
alarm,
because
well
smoke
detectors
doing
what
it's
supposed
to
do
in
a
lot
of
instances.
So
that's
a
matter
of
reporting
next
response
times
goals,
so
the
the
ones
that
I'd,
like
you,
really
to
take
a
look
at
their
fire.
First
arriving.
That's
our
first
arriving
unit,
piece
of
equipment
apparatus
and
then
the
fire
total
response
Force
is
is
for
a
structure
fire
we
like
to
see
those
around
80
percent.
C
C
C
C
Children
reached
educated
and
nearly
3
300
adults
reached.
We
had
839
Facebook
likes
compared
to
7,
500
I-
guess
that's
good
so
anyway,
and
then
next,
please
train
hours.
Our
folks
are
doing
a
real
good
job
training,
as,
as
you
might
imagine
December
is
you
know,
going
to
fall
off
with
the
holidays
and
things
like
that,
but
our
ISO
compliance
is
is
fantastic.
C
C
This
is
from
the
Fourth
Street
Festival.
As
you
know,
in
the
past,
if
you
have
been
to
that
Festival
our
headquarters
fire
station,
our
old
headquarters
fire
station
that
we're
going
to
renovate
have
reconstruction
on
is
right
next
to
that.
But
we
got
a
letter,
appreciation
and
I'm.
Sorry,
it's
very
difficult
to
see,
but
we
did
get
a
letter
appreciation
for
the
from
the
Fourth
Street
Festival
on
Labor
Day
weekend,
all
right
and
General
business,
a
couple
things
just
much
like
the
police
department.
C
We
are
going
to
start
a
hiring
process.
This
spring,
we
are
also
participating
in
an
IU
Athletics
event
for
recruitment
in
February
for
the
fire
department
we
have,
we
put
in
back
in
November
for
mobile,
integrated
Healthcare
grant
for
Community
paramedicine
program
with
the
state
we'll
find
out
at
some
point
this
month.
If
we
receive
that
Grant,
it's
a
significant
Grant,
which
would
which
would
be
with
capital
and
also
Staffing
for
that
program
we
are
doing
also.
C
We
are
currently
down
nine
firefighters,
we
anticipate
being
down
through
attrition
and
other
means
17
by
the
summer,
so
significant
hiring
process
is
going
to
have
to
occur,
which
we
will
perform
this
spring.
So
just
like
the
police
department
we're
having
issues
with
retaining
firefighters.
At
this
point
purchases,
expenditures
procurements,
there's
going
to
be
several
during
the
course
of
this
year.
C
As
you
know,
we're
going
to
buy
another
purchase,
another
fire
engine
that
the
that
fire
engine
expenditure
is
around
eight
hundred
thousand
eighteen
dollars
or
eight
almost
eight
hundred
twenty
thousand
dollars
is
what
it
is.
So
we're
going
to
be
looking
at
that
what
you'll
see
probably
in
this
next
month
is
personal
protective
equipment,
so
our
fire
gear
that
we
purchase
for
firefighters
and
then
air
mass,
the
air
mass
are
fairly
expensive
as
well,
so
that'll
be
around
fifty
thousand
dollars.
C
That
you'll
see
you'll
also
see
around
forty
seven
thousand
dollars
a
vehicle
for
a
new
Deputy
Fire
Marshal.
We
do
expect
to
buy
more
electric
vehicles
for
the
mobile
integrated
healthcare
workers,
the
one
that
we
have
is
working
out
really
well,
so
we
do
expect
to
purchase
more
electric
vehicles
as
well.
For
that
and
that's
all
I
have.
A
Thank
you.
So
we
moved
now
to
Old
business
I,
don't
know
if
there
is
great
and
next
we
move
to
new
business
and
we
have
signing
conflict
of
interest
forms.
G
And
we
could
actually
do
that
at
the
end.
If
you
want
to
move
ahead
to
a
public
comment.
E
A
I
Okay,
I,
don't
know
who
else
is
talking
so
I'm
gonna
talk,
hopefully
a
little
fast,
so
I
can
squeeze
it.
I
I
am
Michelle
doll,
co-chair
of
the
national

I
am
a
lifelong

I'm,

a
white

living
amongst
the
current
92.4
White
demographic
I
have
been
told
my
whole
life,
and
one
would
believe
this
to
be
an
Antiquated
statement
that
I
am
as
white
as
they
are
last
Wednesday
January
11th,
an
18
year
old
woman
of
Asian
descent,
was
stabbed
at
the
head
repetitively
by
a
fellow
passenger
Board
of
Bloomington
city
bus
authorities,
determined
that
this
horrific
Act
was
racially
motivated.
I
The
assailant
told
law
enforcement
that
she
wanted.
One
less

one
less

Chinese

she's
now

By
her
words,
the
assailant
did
not
for
a

think
that
maybe
her
Target
was
as
white
as
she
was.
She
would
not
have
thought
of
me,
nor
anyone
in
our
organization
or
aapi
communities
as.
I
Across
the
United
States,
incidents
of
harassment,
discrimination
and
vandalism
and
violence
targeting
aapis
have
soared
since
the
start
of
the
covid-19
pandemic.
Stigmatizing
rhetoric
used
by
media
figures
and
politicians
have
increased
the
harmful,
harmful
perception
of
Asian
Americans
as
non-american
foreigners,
a
view
associated
with
increased
discrimination.
Aapi
women
facing
the
overlapping
injustices
of
racism
and
Michelle
misogyny
have
been
particularly
vulnerable.
In
these
circumstances.
Now,
Fox
2022
state
of
safety
study
revealed
that
1974
of
aapi
women
surveyed
across
the
United
States
reported
experience,
racism
and
or
discrimination.
I
In
the
previous
year,
India
has
Indiana
has
long
seen
horrific
acts
of
the
anti-asian
violence,
One
1999,
the
shooting
of
Juan
Junoon
by
a
white
supremacist
in
Bloomington,
2021
sick.
Oh
sorry,
2
2016.,
the

on

in
Nashville,
3,
2021,

since

Indiana
has
been
sounding
the
alarm
on
the
issue
of
anti-asian
racism
and
violence,
from
our
2021
petition
to
Governor
Holcomb
to
our
recent
efforts
to
ensure
that
local
universities
affirm
and
respect
aapi

we've
long
called
them
Indiana
leader
leaders
to
acknowledge
the
needs
of
our
community
and
address
the
anti-asian
racism
that
were
made
disturbingly
prevalent
today.
Napoff
Indiana
invites
our
fellow

to
join
us
in
this
vital
work.
I
We
urge
the
people
of
Indiana
to
show
support
for
their
aapi
neighbors.
We
insist
that
our
local
leaders
take
action
to
address
the
harm
done
to
the
victim
and
to
aapi
communities.
More
broadly,
we
urge
elected
officials
to
assist
to
listen
to
our
troubles.
Indiana
needs
to
build
a
robust
policy
program
and
organizational
infrastructure
to
ensure
that
aapi

are
able
to
thrive
