From YouTube: City Clerk Office FY2021 Budget Presentation
Description
Presented by City Clerk Nicole Bolden on August 17, 2020.
A
2021,
the
office
of
the
clerk
is
defined
in
the
indiana
code.
The
clerk
is
a
full-time
position
and
currently
has
a
chief
deputy
city
clerk
who's
here
this
evening
and
the
deputy
city
clerk
that
are
authorized
to
perform
all
the
duties
of
the
indiana
code
and
the
bloomington
municipal
code,
delegate
to
the
clerk
we're
able
to
administer
oaths
attest
to
signatures
serve
as
a
satellite
voter
registration
office,
certify
minutes,
sign
bond
documents,
certify
cemetery
dates
and
other
legal
documents,
as
prescribed
by
law.
A
This
year
started
off
with
a
new
term
for
all
of
us
and
the
mayor,
and
while
I
may
have
had
many
expectations
for
the
year,
I
did
not
anticipate
as
most
of
us
did
not
the
health
as
a
result
of
pandemic.
We
have
seen
a
decrease
in
the
number
of
weddings,
performed,
parking
tickets
appeal
and
most
of
the
services
that
we
do
that
are
connected
to
other
departments,
with
the
exception
of
your
own,
we've
seen
an
increase
in
the
number
of
council
meetings,
but
I
doubt
that
is
a
result
of
the
pandemic.
A
For
2021,
our
goal
is
to
continue
to
staff
the
office
council
meetings
and
committees
and
producing
memos
for
review
at
the
next
available
meeting.
If
at
all
possible,
we
hope
to
continue
attending
classes
and
trainings
in
order
to
achieve
certification
for
the
chief
deputy
clerk
and
the
deputy
clerk,
and
we
hope
to
continue
to
engage
in
public
outreach
and
engagement
and
if
possible,
we
will
continue
to
sponsor
or
participate
in
events
that
benefit
the
community
and
reflect
the
goals
of
the
city
and
the
clerk's
office
in
particular.
