We
also
have
the
risk
and
human
rights
departments,
and
we
handle
a
lot
of
litigation
and
advise
the
mayor's
office
and
all
of
the
city
departments
on
whatever
kinds
of
issues
they
have
that
come
up.
We
save
the
city
money
by
having
essentially
an
in-house
legal
department,
and
we
use
outside
counsel
for
very
complex
matters
and
some
kinds
of
complex
litigation.
A
We
have
a
13
full-time,
equivalent
employees
and
three
divisions.
As
I
mentioned,
the
legal
division
has
seven
attorneys
and
a
paralegal
administrative
assistant.
Risc
has
a
risk
manager,
a
risk
trainer
and
an
administrative
assistant
and
human
rights
has
a
director
who
is
also
an
attorney
and
an
administrative
assistant
in
2020.
Our
focus
has
been
on
our
usual
supporting
departments
with
all
kinds
of
legal
issues.

also
have
four
major
construction
projects
that
have
required
a
lot
of
legal
time,
the
trades
district
and
fourth
street
garages,
the
bpd
training
annex
and
the
jordan
river
culvert,
upgrade
by
cbu,
which
is
happening
all
the
way
down
the
jordan
river.
We,
like
everyone
else,
were
slammed
by
covid.
We
drafted
ordinances
and
resolutions.
We
helped
with
policies
and
protocols
that
spanned
the
entire
city,
employment.

know

that
you
see
in
the
hall.
We
advised
on
all
of
that
and
just
managing
other
legal
aspects
of
our
response
to
the
pandemic
litigation
matters
that
we
have
been
focusing
on
are
we
still
have
an
ongoing
human
rights
case,
a
number
of
hand,
lawsuits
lawsuits
related
to
the
farmers
market
which
are
being
handled?
Well.
It's
just
one
right
now
being
handled
by
our
insurance
company
and
several
planning
and
zoning
matters.

Our
2020
budget
for
our
activity
of
legal
counseling,
our
goal
is
to
achieve
a
contract
with
the
firefighters
union
by
the
end
of
the
year
and
you're
in
active
negotiations
through
hr.
Caroline
mentioned,
the
assessments
of
client,
satisfaction
and
employee
satisfaction,
and
we
are
part
of
that
and
we
will
have
a
goal
of
trying
to
improve
our
performance
if
we
get
feedback
that
it
is
required
and
generally
spending
up
to
nine
hours,
our
900
hours
collectively
advising
our
118
board
and
commission
members,
including
council,.

Legal
and
policy
documents
we
negotiate
and
bring
to
completion
and
signature
up
to
730
contracts,
we're
about
halfway
there,
a
little
bit
over,
which
makes
sense
drafting
up
to
225
ordinances
and
resolutions
and
collaborating
with
its
and
controller's
office.
On
the
new
document
management
system,
that
vendor
has
been
chosen,
and
so
we
would
hope
to
begin
implementing
the
system
this
year
with
a
completion
date
of
the
end
of
next
year.

They
did
a
survey
human
rights
in
2016,
2017
in
all
city-owned
properties,
for
ada
compliance
and
they're
in
the
process
of
resurveying
to
see
what
the
status
is
and
decide
whether
there
are
correct
corrections
needed
for
any
deficiencies
and
generating
and
publicizing
our
annual
hate
incident
reporter
risk
department
goals
are
to
update
the
occupational
safety
and
health
manual,
provide
an
average
of
four
risk
training
sessions
per
month
and
an
average
of
five
safety
audits
per
week
reduce
osha
recordable
injuries
and
compensation
workers.

2021
budget
goals-
some
of
them
are
very
similar,
so
I
I
will
highlight
ones
mostly
they're
different.
These
goals
are
similar
to
ones
for
2020.

For
legal
and
policy
documents
we
have
one
or
two
that
are
different.
We
are,
we
have
added
entering
into
our
database
of
property
deeds
deeds
that
we
retrieved
before
we
destroyed
a
number
of.
A
It
was
over
300
boxes
of
very
old
documents
that,
under
our
retention
and
destruction,
policy
were
due
to
be
destroyed
and
we
retrieved
the
deeds
and
we
will
be
entering
those
into
the
database,
the
rest
of
them,
assisting
with
rewriting
the
utilities,
policies,
procedures
and
standards
of
service
document,
and
we
hope,
starting
to
enter
legal
documents
into
the
new
document
management
system
litigation.

will
also
be
using
the
document
management
system
to
input
our
litigation
and
track
it
there.
So
the
legal
chart
that
I
mentioned
earlier
would
then
go
away
human
rights.
