Description
Weddle Brothers' Superintendent on The Mill project, Keith Butt, takes us on a journey through parts of The Mill and nearby Kiln Building that includes a look at 100-year-old hardware and thick cuts of lumber still going strong and ready for reuse, plus hidden train tracks uncovered during the demolition.

A
But
I'm
the
superintendent
for
water,
brothers,
construction
or
the
construction
manager
on
this
project
I've
been
here
since
the
beginning
of
the
construction
process.
On
this
project,
we
are
reusing
a
lot
of
the
old
materials
and
stuff
in
the
building
we've
created
and
parts,
the
building
new
openings
that
weren't
there
before
to
add
windows
into
offices
and
things
we
were
able
to
save
the
bricks
from
those
openings
and
reuse
them
to
fix,
damaged
bricks
or
other
penetrations
or
in
the
building.
I.
A
Think
you
bring
the
lumber
when
you
bring
it
in
from
the
woods
the
doctors
cut,
they
would
bring
it
in
here
into
the
kindling,
and
then
they
use
heat
and
dry
out
the
lumber,
so
he
could
be
used
for
instruction
and
for
the
furniture
during
the
demolition
process
of
the
convention
valve
is.
When
we
pulled
up
the
floor,
we
discovered
that
there
was
an
old
track
system
for
trolleys.
That
was
underneath
the
concrete
that
we
didn't
know
was
there
I
think
the
Charlie
was
used
for
transporting
dried
lumber
from
the
kiln
building
into
the
dimensionality.
A
A
Lot
of
the
hardware
we
have
in
here
that
we
put
in
100
years
ago,
is
still
on
great
shape
under
steel
joist
anchors
out
here
today.
A
lot
thinner
sheet
now
Brooke
Joyce,
where
they
tie
in
those
brackets,
look
part
able
to
be
left
in
place
and
continue
to
use
for
another
hundred
years.
They
just
the
old
plank
just
set
down
in
there
and
rest
it
in
there.
