A
Hello,
it's
mayor,
john
hamilton
greetings
to
fellow
city
employees.
This
is
thursday
september
3rd
and
well
we
made
it
to
september
in
this
year.
2020.,
that's
two-thirds
of
the
way
through
it's
been
quite
a
an
extraordinary
ride.
Thank
you
for
all
you've
been
doing.
I
hope
you
are
able
to
occasionally
take
a
deep
breath
and
look
back
realize
what
we've
done
together
to
help
keep
our
community
going
through.
Just
an
extraordinary
set
of
challenges
appreciate
that
for
the
updates
on
kovid.
We
continue
to
work
hard
on
that.
You've.
A
Very
significant
increase
in
infections
in
those
congregate
living
settings
where
people
are
so
close
and
sharing
so
much
space
and
living
quarters
and
they've
had
to
essentially
quarantine
most
of
them
and
really
be
concerned
about
that
spread
among
the
3000
or
so
people
who
live
in
those
in
those
settings.
Exactly
how
that
will
play
out.
We
don't
know
iu
is
very
seriously
quarantining
and
continuing
to
test,
but
that
that
really
does
put
some
overall
risk
in
how
the
university
will
be
able
to
keep
going
and
its
impact
on
our
community.
A
A
Low
level
they've
come
up
a
little
bit,
but
not
in
an
alarming
way,
but
the
spread
is,
is
here
coming
up
on
labor
day
weekend,
we're
we're
really
concerned,
so
we're
definitely
going
to
keep
our
tighter
15
person
limit
on
gatherings,
we're
continuing
to
monitor,
bars
and
restaurants
and
appreciate
all
of
you
who
help
make
that
happen
and
continue
the
work
that
you
do
say
thanks
to
a
police
officer,
if
you
would
they've
had
a
really
challenging
few
months.
A
Of
course,
as
many
of
us
have,
but
probably
more
visibly
and
with
a
lot
of
public
attention,
we
have
an
outstanding
bloomington
police
department.
They
work
hard,
24,
7
and
they've,
been
through
through
because
of
a
lot
of
national
pressures
and
changes,
there's
a
lot
of
stress
in
their
lives,
so
say
thanks
to
a
police
officer.
If
you
get
a
chance
to
do
that,
we
appreciate
all
that
you
all
do
for
us
every
day
recover
forward.
We
will
be
talking
about
the
local
income
tax
proposal.
A
It's
now
set
to
happen,
hearings
in
city
council
on
wednesday,
the
september
9th
and
wednesday
september,
the
16th
for
a
final
vote
up
or
down
on
a
0.25
percent
local
income
tax
increase.
This
would
parallel
the
2016
increase
for
public
safety.
This
would
focus
on
general
improvement
and
recover
forward
for
our
community,
through
sustainability
and
economics,
and
jobs,
and
housing
and
infrastructure,
and
and
all
arts
and
social
services
and
all
kinds
of
things,
as
well
as
just
bolstering
our
our
basic
services.
That's
going
to
be
a
really
important
vote.
A
So
if
you
see
a
council
member,
say
hello,
and
thanks
to
them
too,
for
what
we
hope
will
be
their
support
for
that
project,
it's
going
to
be
important
for
us
going
forward
thanks
again
for
all
you
do.
There's
a
lot
going
on,
schools
are
changing,
your
lives
are
changing,
appreciate
all
you're.
Doing
hang
in
there
take
care
of
yourselves
take
care
of
each
other.
Take
care
of
bloomington
and
I'll
talk
to
you
again
in
a.
