A
Hi
this
is
Mayor
John
Hamilton,
it's
Friday,
June
12th,
just
giving
an
update
to
my
fellow
city
employees.
Briefly
today.
First,
there
is
a
new
stage
for
that.
We
have
joined
today
under
our
local
order.
That
means
changes
in
the
regimen
that
we
all
follow
both
in
city
government
and
everybody.
The
biggest
changes
include
opening
up
bars
at
50%,
as
well
as
playgrounds
and
movie
theaters
and
such
as
well
as
expanding
office
and
store
retail
store
capacity
to
unlimited
and
restaurants
to
75%.
A
We
have
kept
a
social
gathering
size
locally
to
a
hundred
or
less
compared
to
the
states
250.
We
continue
to
have
good
health
data
indicators.
Here,
though,
I
continue
to
be
concerned
that
we
now
move
too
fast,
so
we're
taking
it
one
step
at
a
time-
and
you
know
we
joined
that
stage
for
today
through
at
least
July
3rd.
A
It
appears
I
also
want
to
give
just
a
quick
update
and
thanks
on
the
big,
powerful
rally
that
took
place
a
week
ago
today,
downtown
Bloomington
with
thousands
of
people
protesting
racial
injustice
and
advocating
for
change
and
I
want
to
thank
everybody
involved
with
that.
I'll
mention
one
other
thing:
I
expect
you'll
hear
about
masks
as
being
PPE
personal
protective
equipment
that
we
will
be
not
just
requesting,
but
requiring
all
of
our
employees
to
use
in
certain
settings.
They'll
be
more
detail
coming
out
about
that
shortly
to
help
protect
each
other.
A
A
Last
Friday
was
really
powerful
and
effective
and
helpful
and
I
know
they
got
some
support
from
the
community
directly
but
to
all
of
our
Police
Department
members.
Thank
you
for
all.
You
do
every
day,
we'll
continue
to
review
all
that
we
do
and
work
with
our
community
to
identify
ways
we
can
get
better,
but
I
just
want
to
express,
on
behalf
of
everybody,
our
thanks
to
all
in
the
police
department,
for
your
your
work
and
your
commitment
to
our
public
good.
A
Maybe,
secondly,
I'll
note
also
the
parks
department
they've
been
very
busy
with
the
change
into
stage
four.
It
meant
two
dozen
playgrounds
and
fitness
stations
are
open
and
they
got
em
open
and
sanitized
and
ready
today,
with
very
little
notice.
They've
also
been
dealing
with
the
constantly
evolving
farmers
market,
new
switchyard
Park,
all
kinds
of
things
going
on
at
parks,
I
know
how
much
everybody
loves
and
appreciates
the
parks
and
I
want
to.
A
Thank
you
for
your
service
in
these
last
weeks
and,
of
course,
always
and
finally,
let
me
just
thank
the
street
department
and
those
who
helped
with
the
Kirkwood
project,
planning
and
transportation
engineering,
Public
Works,
all
generally
the
fantastic
new
redo
of
Kirkwood,
which
is
just
in
time
to
try
the
pilot
project
next
weekend,
starting
the
19th
of
closing
down
two
blocks
to
vehicle
traffic.
To
let
pedestrians
and
and
in
other
places,
use
that
facility
in
new
ways,
it'll
be
really
exciting
to
see
how
that
happens.
A
Thank
everybody
for
all
you're,
doing
I'm
almost
hesitant
to
highlight
those
three
but
I'll
keep
trying
to
share
stories,
and,
and
thank
you
for
all
you're
doing
all
of
you
to
help
limit
and
continue
to
make
it
through
challenging
times.
Keep
taking
care
of
each
other.
Keep
taking
care
of
Bloomington
be
sure
to
be
in
touch.
If
you
have
any
questions
or
suggestions
thanks
again,.
