A
Hello,
it's
mayor,
hamilton,
giving
a
public
update
for
october
5th,
tuesday
2021
as
to
the
pandemic.
We
are
not
out
of
the
woods.
We
are
glad
to
see
our
county.
Our
community
is
still
doing
better
significantly
better
than
most
parts
of
indiana.
The
overall
numbers
for
the
delta
variant
surge
are
looking
like.
There's
some
positive
signs
in
terms
of
death
rates,
positivity
rates
overall
caseloads
we've
seen
that
come
down
a
little
bit
in
our
community,
but
they're
still
very.
Concerning
levels.
A
A
Please
do
keep
doing
what
you're
doing
the
vaccinations
and
the
masking
are.
The
are
the
answer.
Vaccinations
are
so
important.
We're
still
stuck
way
below
what
we
should
be
in
this
community
and
in
this
state
and
in
this
country
the
masking
order
that
we
have
has
been
extended.
So
that
seems
to
be
helping.
Indiana
university
numbers
are
strong
and
good
their
protection
with
their
vaccination
requirement.
A
Please
please
just
keep
doing
that,
protect
each
other.
In
fact,
please
get
the
flu
vaccine
because
that's
going
to
be
another
really
important
thing,
you
can
do
to
help
protect
our
health
care
system
and,
of
course,
you
yourself
for
that
for
that
matter.
So
as
this
update
we're
seeing
some
good
directional
movement,
but
just
as
one
data
point,
there
are
more
younger
people
dying
in
our
state
from
covid
now
than
there
were
at
the
surge
last
winter.
It's
hitting
younger
people
differently,
this
delta
variant,
a
second
data
point.
A
We
had
the
most
cases
positive
cases
in
our
city,
employment,
this
past
september,
the
just
of
the
last
month
than
we
had
since
december
of
2020.
more
cases
than
any
month
this
year.
So
we
are
by
no
means
out
of
the
woods
we're
still
seeing
a
lot
of
this
disease
passing
around.
So
please
keep
taking
care
of
yourself,
protect
each
other,
protect
our
community,
get
vaccinated
and
wear
the
masks.
We'll
keep
the
updates
coming
and
thank
you
for
your
continued
attention.
