A
Welcome
everyone
to
our
final
legislative
update
for
2022.
I
want
to
thank
our
sponsors,
the.
A
Brown
county
and
the
brown
county
chamber
of
commerce,
as
well
as
the
greater
bloomington.
A
Chamber
of
commerce,
we
are
so
glad
to
have
them
as
our
sponsors,
and
we
welcome
you.
A
And
to
our
legislators,
who
were
able
to
be
with
us
today,
matt
pierce
and
shelly
yoder.
A
A
Of
the
brown
county
league
of
women
voters,
and
this
it
is
my
honor
and
privilege
to
be
able
to.
A
Opening
remarks
and
a
few
closing
remarks,
so
I
think
we're
ready
for
the
next
slide
and.
A
Of
the
of
senator
yoder
and
representative
pierce,
you
will
put
in
the
chat
a
message.
A
In
the
order
received
and
at
the
appropriate
time
that
your
question
is
being
addressed,
the.
A
And
talking
on
this
update,
you
are
giving
your
permission
to
be
recorded.
All
legislators
will.
A
Be
given
the
opportunity
to
answer
each
question,
this
is
an
informative
session,
not
a
debate
and.
A
As
in
previous
updates,
we
expect
everyone
to
be
civil
and
respectful
to
the
legislators
and
to.
B
B
Some
I'll
start
with
the
lows
and
we'll
end
on
the
highs.
I
of
course,
what's
now
house
enroll
act.
B
B
Out
of
vulnerable
people,
and
that
is
young
people,
trans
people
and
forbidding
trans.
B
B
B
To
to
provide
food
for
their
themselves
and
their
families,
what
that
conversation
became.
B
B
Such
an
unfortunate
debate-
and
that
was
a
low
point
for
me-
high
points
I
think.
B
Meeting
the
league
of
women
voters,
legislative
update
about
11
34
and
to
see
and
I'm
going
to
add.
B
B
B
Point
in
this
legislative
session,
I
would
also
say
the
changes
in
indiana
code
on
what
is
the.
B
B
C
Voting
base
of
the
republican
party
had
some
salience
that
really
drive
some
votes
for
that.
C
Senate
only
half
of
the
members
are,
but
in
the
house
side
you
have
a
concerted
effort
on
the
part.
C
C
C
C
The
house-
and
so
it's
interesting
to
me
that
you
had
that
bill.
The
anti
kind
of
vaccine
bill.
C
Anti-Emergency
order
bill,
you
remember
that
started
out
in
the
I
guess
it
was
december.
C
C
C
C
C
C
What
so
that
bill
ended
up?
You
know
not
being
very
significant
at
the
end
of
the
day,.
C
Kind
of
create
partisan
school
board
elections
and
not
a
single
person,
testified
in
favor
of.
C
A
piece
of
this
whole
kind
of
school
censorship
thing
going
on
was
you
know
in
the
current
code.
C
C
C
Have
things
in
their
collection
that
people
might
consider
harmful
to
minors?
They
have
a
defense.
C
Another
example
of
this
kind
of
red
meat
agenda,
as
I
call
it
that
didn't
make
it
through
in.
C
Bills
that
came
out
of
the
house
ended
up
getting
kind
of
ground
up
over
in
the
senate.
C
C
C
C
C
And
so
that
conference
report
has
to
get
approved
by
the
rules
can
be
or
can
be,
voted
upon
and.
C
You
know
my
understanding
from
just
reading
accounts
of
it
is
the
bill
is
actually.
C
C
Aside
and
and
convinced
that
person
to
change
their
vote,
so
the
bill
could
continue
to
move.
C
C
C
C
On
that
particular
bill,
another
thing
that
the
house
passed,
which
thankfully.
C
Know
that
was
really
designed
to
just
you
know,
severely
limit
any
kind
of
voting
by
mail
and.
C
C
Things
and
I'm
sure
shelley
has
her
list
that
didn't
become
law
either.
So
for
the
democrats.
C
C
C
C
C
Got
done,
this
is
a
problem
and
I'll
just
end
here,
because
I
think
I'm
probably
going
to.
C
Have
time
for
my
10
minutes,
but
the
the
tax
cut
bill,
I
think
really
kind
of
summarizes
the.
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
Example,
right
now
is
just
these
gas
prices
out
of
control,
and
you
know
we
could
help
out
a
little.
C
C
While
at
the
same
time
knocking
maybe
50
cents
a
gallon
off
the
the
price
of
gas,
so
that's
just.
C
A
Will
go
into
the
chat
and
indicate
their
desire
to
ask
a
question
I'll
ask
the
question
moderator.
D
E
A
And
first
to
go
answer:
this
question
would
be
representative
pierce.
C
C
C
In
need
of
services
than
and
you
know,
some
kind
of
criminals,
that
was
a
really
important
thing.
C
You
know
basically,
instruments
to
kind
of
analyze
who's,
a
flight
risk
who's.
The
danger.
C
Jail
and
so
we
had
a
bill
that
did
pass,
that
puts
limitations
on
these
charitable
organizations.
C
That
are
trying
to
help
people
be
able
to
afford
the
bill.
I
I
said
on
the
house
floor.
B
Have
liked
to
see,
but
we
did
create
some
addiction
expungement
a
little
bit
and.
B
B
B
And
hopefully,
in
this
session
we
paved
away
found
a
path
forward
for
these
individuals
that.
B
B
D
Kathleen
thank
you.
Yes,
matt
addressed
the
net
metering
issue,
but
shelly
and
matt
daryl.
B
B
B
B
B
Keep
up
the
the
work
encourage
people
to
reach
out
to
their
legislators
across
the
state.
A
C
C
Climate
change
is
real
and
we
should
do
something
about.
It
is
really
not
the
best
use
of
your.
C
C
C
Whether
we
as
a
state
like
it
or
not,
that
seems
to
be
their
attitude,
and
so
you
don't
really
have.
C
C
So
we
now
have
on
the
books
that,
if
you're
a
utility
you
can
come
in
and
ask.
A
Thank
you
very
much
with
the
questions.
Yes,
thank
you
next
up
is
tommy
allison
and
then.
D
D
G
Deaths
in
the
nursing
homes
and
the
you
know,
passing
of
the
gun
control
in
spite
of.
G
C
Out
of
this
gerrymandering
loop
by
the
time
in
a
decade
when
this
is
due
to
happen.
C
C
C
To
look
at
the
bigger
picture
of
the
impacts
on
on
democracy-
and
you
know
it's
just.
C
Conference
committee
refuses
to
sign
a
conference
report.
They
can
just
be
removed.
C
C
C
Carry
as
they
call
it,
that
would
be
a
situation
where
you
know
it's
likely.
The
democrats
would.
C
B
A
B
B
D
We
have
three
questions
in
the
queue
next
up
is
jim
borman,
jim,
please
unmute.
H
Good
morning
I
have
a
quick
question
for
you.
I
have
been
following
and
did
follow
the
the
gun.
H
Law
that
passed
and
saw
that
the
police
were
adamantly
opposed
to
it
and
it
kind
of
boggles.
H
B
B
B
B
The
governor
did
not
veto,
although
we
had
seen
red
flags
red
flags
that
this
was
going
to.
C
C
C
C
In
a
way
that
people
don't
know
you
have
it,
that
was
where,
under
the
previous
law,
you
had
to.
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
Be
encountering
a
lot
of
convicted
felons
with
weapons
and
they're,
just
gonna
say,
have
a
nice
day.
C
A
A
A
And
ask
your
question
please
thank
you
very
much
I
wish.
Could
we
have
a
little
discussion
of
the.
I
What
is
the
politics
involved,
obviously,
in
a
smoking-related
bill.
A
Thank
you
very
much
for
that
question
and
representative
pierce.
I
think
you're
up
first.
C
Tobacco
taxes
and
so
the
argument
was
they
needed
to
neither
cut
that.
But
of
course,.
C
To
vaping
they
would
consume
less
carcinogens
in
the
system
and
and
they
could
kind
of
taper.
C
C
A
B
B
B
Making
vaping
materials
and
equipment
more
accessible
is
the
opposite
direction
of
what
we.
B
B
B
Fixing
it
with
the
code
and
that
I
think
that's
just
a
bad
policy
for
indiana.
D
Is
brad
swain
and
we
have
one
more
after
brad
blee
brad,
please
unmute
and
ask
your
question.
J
Hi,
I'm
the
reluctant
operator
of
a
local
mental
health
facility
and
I'm
hearing
rumblings.
A
B
B
I
know
that
this
that
finally
issues
of
mental
health
among
everyone,
but
in
particular
even
our.
B
Youth
that
they're
getting
more
attention
and
I'm
looking
forward
to
this
next
budget.
B
C
I
think
that
what
might
be
happening
is
you
might
recall
that
the
governor
announced.
A
Thank
you
very
much
for
that
response.
Ms
moderator,
do
we
have
another
question
in
the
queue.
K
Almost
invisible
to
the
majority
of
the
citizen
population,
although
the
indie
star
has
done.
K
Opposition
to
the
rough
top
solar
and
net
metering
discussions,
but
there
are
many
others
as
well.
C
And
the
answer
is
it's
very
difficult
and
I
know
the
people
in
this
meeting
I'm
trying
to.
C
Kind
of
see
where
the
money
comes
in
from
them
and
then
you've
got
this
situation
where.
C
Can
be
turned
around
and
funneled
into
the
indiana
governor's
race
and
so.
C
It's
coming
from
all
over
the
place
and
never
been
many
times
where
I've
sat
there.
A
All
right,
senator
yoder,
would
you
like
to
address
that
question.
B
B
B
B
Was
a
case
or
a
via
a
possible
violation?
I
had
in
my
mind
all
of
these
possibilities.
F
It's
it's
just
a
lost
opportunity
to
be
having
these
conversations,
so
I
think
the
issue.
B
A
Thank
you
very
much
both
of
you
for
the
answers
to
that
question.
Do
we
have
another
question.
D
L
L
Else
to
refer
to
them,
but
how
will
that
money
be
spent
and
how
much
control
will
the
legislature.
A
Thank
you,
I
believe
the
first
one
to
answer
this
question
would
be
senator
yoder.
B
B
Look
it
up,
I'm
not
sure
how
that
will
be
determined.
If
I
was
thinking
that
when
and.
C
C
And,
and
I
think
that
I
recall
that
there's
a
some
percentage
at
35
percent-
that
the
local.
C
C
Guarantee
of
getting
know
some
amount
of
that
and
then
I'm
sure
there'll
be
a
little
bit
of
a.
B
B
A
And
enjoy
the
rest
of
your
day,
okay,
so
everything's
on
representative
pierce's.
A
Shoulder
shoulders
now,
as
far
as
do
we
have
any
additional
questions
in
the
queue.
D
We
have
one
additional
question:
pamela
davidson,
please
unmute
and
ask
your
question.
M
Fight
back,
but
we
have
challenges
other
than
that.
Any
insight
for
what
the
dems
can
do,
because.
M
C
Some
efforts
here
there
to
try
to
make
it
a
little
harder
to
vote,
and
so
I
guess
that's.
C
The
good
news,
the
bad
news-
is:
there's
no
energy
within
the
legislature
to
ask:
how
do
we
really
get.
C
C
Barrel
with
a
bump
up,
so
you
know,
the
bottom
line
is
the
thing
that
I
don't
understand.
Is
this.
C
C
And
of
course,
it's
interesting
to
me
that
the
governor
and
the
republicans
had
no
problem.
C
In
which
it
was
a
primary,
so
there
is
no
chance
for
it
to
affect
republicans.
C
C
C
C
A
Yeah,
thank
you
so
much
representative
pierce.
Do
we
have
any
additional
questions
in
the
queue.
A
I
believe
that
jim
or
tommy
allison
want
to.
G
Yes,
this
is
tommy
and
the
regard
to
the
dark
money,
the
federal
legislation,
the.
G
C
C
C
Flow
of
things,
and
so
I
think
that
would
be
a
really
big
advantage
as
far
as
transparency.
D
More
questions
in
the
chat
at
this
time.
Well,
look
lest
you
think,
you're
getting
off
the
hook.
A
Representative
pierce,
we
we
actually
have
prepared
in
advance
some
additional
questions.
A
Could
kind
of
tell
us
how
they
work
and
what
kinds
of
committees
are
in
place
for
the
summer.
C
C
C
C
C
C
What
can
be
done
there
so
the
way
the
process
works
is
there
are
a
couple
pathways.
C
Well,
if
you
read
the
law
carefully,
all
it
says
is
that
we
encourage
the
legislative.
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
Tuned
for
that
in
may,
okay,
that's
very
helpful.
We
would
like
to
know
if
you
personally
will.
A
Be
on
any
study,
committees
or
task
forces
that
you
are
aware
of
at
this
point
in
time.
C
C
All
these
energy
issues
and
the
decision
was
made
by
the
republican
leadership
that.
C
C
Round
of
energy
study,
it's
been
very
frustrating
because
the.
C
C
C
That's
what
we're
doing
here
so
that's
a
little
frustrating,
so
I
expect
to
be
on
that.
I
normally.
C
C
I
usually
end
up
serving
on
okay.
We've
also
heard
so
much
about
the
fact
that
there
is.
A
A
A
For
calling
a
general
session
or
a
special
session,
excuse
me
and
we're
just
wondering.
A
What's
entailed
in
calling
a
special
session
and
how
I
mean
I'm
does
it
require
any
kind
of.
C
C
With
all
the
last
minute
changes
and
things
going
on
so
so
in
95
they
came
up.
This
is
like
okay,.
C
C
C
C
There
are
no
vetoes
that
have
been
made,
or
the
vetoes
that
were
made
by
the
governor
are
not
that.
C
Earth
shattering
that
we
have
to
rush
in
and
deal
that
we
can
wait
and
tell
later,
because
I
think.
C
C
C
Have
the
legislature
have
to
wait
until
organization
day
in
november,
which
is.
C
Two
weeks
after
election
day
to
deal
with
this
study,
so
that's
going
to
be
completely.
C
C
C
C
I
think
the
pressure
will
be
extremely
great
on
him
to
call
that
special
session
and
I
think.
A
The
long
session
that
will
be
coming
next
year,
what
kinds
of
things
do
you
have
on
your.
C
C
C
C
C
C
Tax
was
like
through
the
roof
and
and
there
was
so
much
money,
but
they
were
trying
to
figure.
C
C
To
address
teacher
pay
and
really
begin
to
get
teacher
pay
up,
and
there
was
like
zero
interest
in.
C
C
We
don't
have
any
excuses
left,
and
so
they
put
money
in
for
teacher
raises
they
funded
a
lot.
C
Of
stuff
that
they
were
cutting
and
and
it
was
just
a
complete
turnaround
and
it
became
a
budget.
C
That
was
so
good
because
there
was
so
much
money
gushing
in
that
something
had
happened
for
the.
C
C
C
C
C
A
Thank
you
so
much
for
giving
us
some
insight
into
that,
and
we
have
about
seven
minutes.
A
Left-
and
we
usually
give
give
you
and
senator
yoder
an
opportunity
to
make
some
closing
remarks.
A
A
To
make
for
us
well,
I
I
do
want
to
thank
the
league
women
voters
for
organizing
these.
C
C
Survive
is
has
made
it
really
difficult.
I
think
for
people
you
know
they're
used
to
relying
upon.
C
C
C
C
C
Attention
at
all
is
we
were
able
to
get
stuck
into
one
of
the
other
economic
development
bills.
C
C
C
C
C
C
Literally
years
and
years
and
years
been
working
on
that
another
thing
that
we
got
into
the
law.
C
And
so
this,
this
is
an
example
of
how
you
can't
have
an
effect
in
the
minority,
but
you.
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
Provision
in
a
bill
we
help
me
on
that
and-
and
she
said
it
made
sense
and
so
she
identified
she.
C
C
No
one
challenged
it
or
said
it
was
a
bad
thing
and
it's
gotten
signed
into
law.
C
Happen
and
you
just
gotta,
get
the
key
people
on
the
pathway
to
do
it,
and
the
other
thing
too
is.
C
And
and
monitored
its
progress
and
and
now
it's
law
today,
so
that's
a
good
thing.
A
Well,
we
give
you
kudos
for
that,
and
I
know
that
we
feel
very
fortunate
to
have
you
there.
A
And
giving
us
an
opportunity
to
know
you,
and
certainly
we
appreciate
that
from
senator
yoder
as.
A
Well,
you
you
give
us
so
much
insight
into
the
actual
workings
of
the
indiana
general
assembly.
A
And
just
in
closing
not
only
to
thank
you,
but
I
also
want
to
thank
everyone
who
attended.
A
Their
jobs
are
particularly
if
they
are
in
the
minority.
Don't
forget
that
next.
A
Year's
legislative
session
includes
budgeting
as
representative
pierce.
A
A
All
of
you-
and
it
will
remind
you
of
just
some
basics-
about
remembering
to
vote.
A
A
A
A
A
To
help
you
make
sure
that
your
vote
counts.
Thank
you
again
and
we
look
forward
to
the.
A
Session
next
year,
to
hopefully
have
additional
updates
for
you
and
have
the
interaction.
That's.
