A
Welcome
to
Bloomington
today,
I'm
Laurie
Schulte
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
October
28th
to
November
third
we're
starting
off
here
at
City
Hall,
because
the
general
election
is
right
around
the
corner.
There
are
several
races
taking
place,
including
the
mayoral
councilmember
district,
12
and
at-large.
Three
bloomington
School
District
Board
seeds
are
also
up
for
grabs.
You
can
head
to
the
city's
website
to
check
out
video
testimonials
from
the
candidates.
A
You
can
also
find
resources
to
help
you
figure
out
if
you're
registered,
to
vote,
how
to
register
and
where
your
polling
place
is
polling.
Sites
are
open
from
seven
in
the
morning
until
eight
at
night.
If
you
have
any
more
questions
contact
the
City
Clerk's
office
at
nine
525,
638
729,
we're
here
now
at
the
old
cedar,
avenue
bridge
where
you
can
see
a
lot
of
changes
taking
place
out
here.
A
Crews
are
building
a
temporary
access
bridge
to
get
to
the
old
historic
one,
and
this
progress
will
continue
through
winter
work
started
this
summer
and
will
be
on
going
through
November
of
next
year.
Excavation
continues
on
site
and
piles
will
be
installed.
This
historic
structure
opened
in
1920
and
was
turned
over
to
the
city
from
mndot
in
1981.
It
was
closed
to
vehicles
in
1993
and
has
been
closed
to
all
traffic
since
2002.
This
bridge
will
finally
see
new
life
within
the
next
couple
years.
A
We'll
have
updates
on
the
progress,
as
this
project
continues
back
here
near
civic,
plaza
at
Creekside
community
center.
There's
many
programs
for
people
to
get
involved
with,
including
a
men's
group.
That's
been
meeting
here
for
more
than
two
decades.
The
Southside
men's
group
offers
people
a
supportive
place
to
pursue
positive
change
within
these
informal
small
group
meetings
allow
men
to
share
personal
stories
of
victories
and
setbacks.
Topics
range
from
job
struggles
to
family
matters.
Men
are
encouraged
to
share,
listen
and
encourage
without
judging
everything
shared
in
small
group
is
confidential.
A
Newcomers
are
always
welcome
and
there
is
no
cost.
People
who
regularly
attend
are
encouraged
to
pay
a
seven
dollar
donation
for
rent,
coffee
and
donuts.
The
Southside
men's
group
meets
here
every
morning
from
8
15
to
10
15.
Also
here
at
Creekside,
a
special
lunch
event
will
honor
our
veterans
on
November.
Second,
it's
one
of
several
programs.
The
city
is
sponsoring
to
honor
these
heroes.
The
lunch
starts
before
noon.
At
eleven-thirty,
the
city
of
lakes,
chorus
will
perform
celebrating
the
music
of
the
1940s.
A
Following
the
lunch,
an
appreciation
breakfast
will
be
held
at
Civic
Plaza
on
November
10th.
This
is
video
from
the
2014
event.
This
year.
The
keynote
speaker
will
talk
about
being
a
member
of
the
Women
Airforce
Service
Pilots
during
World
War,
two,
the
breakfast
goes
from
nine
to
1030
in
the
morning.
The
annual
Veterans
photo
wall
will
also
be
up
at
City
Hall
and
at
Creekside.
The
collection
grows
every
year
and
includes
more
than
285
photos
of
men
and
women
from
all
branches
of
services.
A
It's
on
display
each
November
in
honor
a
veterans
day
before
those
events
at
Creekside
families
will
flock
here
to
the
Bloomington
icegarden
for
the
citywide
Halloween
party
and
speaking
of
a
spooky
holiday.
Here's
a
reminder
about
curfew
laws
since
halloween
falls
on
the
weekend.
This
is
the
list
of
curfew.
Rules
for
saturday
kids
under
12
must
be
home
by
10pm
people
12
to
14
years
of
age
can
stay
out
until
11
and
teams
15
to
17

a
curfew
of
midnight
for
a
full
list
of
curfew,
laws
head
to
the
city's
website
and
search
curfew.
A
That
is
the
buzz
on
Bloomington
today
for
the
week
of
October
28th
to
November.
Third,
if
you
would
like
to
watch
other
stories
from
the
show
go
to
this
week's
playlist,
there
you'll
find
a
story
showing
how
crews,
prep
equipment
and
drivers
for
the
snowy
season
there's
also
a
piece
highlighting
the
theater
department
at
Normandale
and
the
spooky
shows
coming
soon.
Thanks
for
watching
you.
