A
B
Welcome
to
Bloomington
today
I'm
Laurie
Schulte
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
August
twelfth
through
the
18th
prep
work
is
underway
at
the
old
cedar
avenue
bridge
temporary
access
to
the
bridge
is
being
built
now,
essentially,
another
bridge
will
be
built
next
to
the
existing
one.
So
crews
can
rehabilitate
it
eventually
civil
engineer,
Julie
long
says
the
bridge
will
be
lifted,
a
necessary
step
to
rehabilitate
the
historic
landmark.

C
B
Project
is
two
months
behind
schedule:
CenturyLink
ran
into
some
difficulties
with
fiber-optic
lines,
running
down
the
old
cedar
avenue
corridor
under
Long
Meadow
Lake
in
the
Minnesota
River.
If
there
are
no
more
surprises,
the
bridge
should
be
complete
in
November
of
2016
Engineers
say
the
spring
of
2017
may
be
more
likely
as
they
think
the
bridge
may
still
have
a
surpriser
to
the
old
cedar
avenue
bridge
opened
in
1920.
It
was
turned
over
to
the
city
from
mndot
in
1981.
B
It
was
closed
to
vehicles
in
1993
and
has
been
closed
to
all
traffic
since
2002
after
a
primary
election
in
council
district
to
the
final
two
candidates,
headed
for
the
general
election
have
been
chosen.
Unofficial
results
show
Andrew,
Carlson
and
Tom.
Halting
will
move
forward
to
the
general
election.
Carlson
got
just
over
forty-eight
percent
of
the
boat
Tom
whole
team
received
about
29
and
a
half
percent
and
Susan
Hofmeister
Woodruff
got
about
twenty
two
and
a
half
percent
of
votes.
The
general
election
is
set
for
November.

B
It's
been
operating
at
a
loss
and
a
task
force
is
being
organized
to
talk
about
the
properties
future.
The
group
will
brainstorm
a
riu
strategy
and
present
it
to
the
City
Council
potential
options
include
turning
the
course
into
a
park.

They

Reserves
often
participate
in
special
events
like
this.
B
It
takes
some
training
to
become
an
officer
there's
a
four-month
Academy
after
that
officers
must
still
attend
a

once
a

D
Been
doing
this
for
22
years,
one
of
the
things
I
enjoy
the
most
is
driving
around
the
city
and
see
what
seeing
what's
changing.
I
also
like
kind
of
being
in
on
things
and
understanding
how
why
things
are
happening
in
the
city.
You
get
a
good
feeling
once
you've
helped
a
stranded
motorist
out
there.
You
know,
especially
in
the
winter
they've,
been
sitting
there
for
half
an
hour
and
they
can't
get
a
hold
of
a
total
company
and
you
pull
up
behind
them
and
are
able
to
help
them
out

B
You
want
to
apply
visit
the
city's
website
and
print
out
an
application.
You
have
to
drop
it
