A
B
Welcome
to
Bloomington
today,
I'm
Laurie
Schulte
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
july
29th
through
August.
Fourth,
new
signage
is
being
installed
in
the
south
loop
surrounding
the
Mall
of
America.
It's
called
wave
finding
and
it's
meant
to
help
drivers
determine
where
to
go.
These
metal
and
electronic
signs
will
provide
information
about
how
to
get
to
a
destination
a
freeway
or
a
parking
lot.
This
is
video
of
one
being
installed
on
the
west
side
of
the
linda
lane
bridge.
B
There
are
three
different
areas
in
the
south
loop
where
the
signs
will
be
found.
The
six
electronic
freeway
signs
were
completed
in
2011.
These
roadways
signs
are
being
installed
now
and
future
signage
will
be
put
on
site
at
the
Mall
of
America,
as
construction
continues,
their
electronic
signs
better
serve
drivers
as
traffic
enclosures
change.
From
day
to
day,
the
project
was
funded
by
a
federal
grant
from
the
congestion
mitigation
and
air
quality
program.
Remaining
cost
will
be
paid
for
through
a
special
assessment
to
the
mall
of
america
and
city
funding.
B
Secondhand
goods
are
a
great
way
to
give
old
items
new
life,
and
now
you
can
save
even
more
money.
When
repurposing
items
choose
to
reuse,
coupons
are
being
offered
by
Hennepin
County.
Thanks
to
a
partnership
with
50
reuse
retailers,
you
can
get
an
even
bigger
discount
on
used
goods.

at
the

or

The
coupons
are
good.
From
august
to
october
thrift
stores
aren't
the
only
shops
looking
for
donations.
A
Twin
Cities
organization
wants
your
old
bikes
and
bike
parts.
Spokes
a
Minneapolis
biking
and
walking
community
resource
will
be
collecting
bikes
at
Highland
Park
in
Bloomington.
The
group
hopes
to
get
a
more
diverse
group
into
sit
in
cycling.
B
They
do
it
by
loaning
and
selling
reconditioned
bikes
to
low-income
people
and
teaching
cycling
classes
to
adults
who
don't
know
how
to
ride.
Spokes
also
has
open
shop
hours
where
people
can
use
bike
repair
tools.
If
you
would
like
to
donate
a
bike
head
to
highland
lake
park
reserve
on
saturday
august
eighth,
it
goes
from
10
to
4.
The
second
home
improvement
seminar
of
the
summer
taught
residents
about
how
to
remodel
their
bathrooms.
B
It's
put
on
by
the
housing
and
redevelopment
authority,
and
this
session
was
headed
up
by
Lynn
Monson
owner
of
dream
maker
bath
and
kitchen.
He
touched
on
simple,
cost-effective,
remodels
to
more
extensive
updates.
A
majority
of
his
presentation
was
made
up
of
before-and-after
photos.
He
also
shared
information
about
different
products,
techniques
and
designs.
For
example,
installing
a
vessel
bowl
for
the
sink
can
create
convenience
and
style
you'll.
A
B
Final
home
improvement
seminar
is
coming
up
on
August
27th.
The
topic
is
basement
waterproofing.
It
starts
at
seven
in
the
rehearsal
hall
at
Civic
Plaza
there's
another
great
art
exhibit
inside
the
gallery
at
City
Hall,
and
it's
all
about
trees,
photographer
Linda
Gamal
and
painter
Holly
Newton
Swift
invite
viewers
to
explore
the
quiet
solitude
they
find
while
amidst
trees.
That's
the
name
of
the
exhibit
inside
the
gallery:
Gamble's
photographs
capture,
the
fragmented
and
decaying
details
of
the
forest
by
focusing
on
one
detail
and
blurring
the
rest
of
the
photo.
B
This
is
supposed
to
mimic
how
people
see
things
taking
in
one
thing.
At
a
time,
Swift's
work
paints
a
similar
picture
using
dramatic
contrast,
as
she
explores
the
old
cedar
grove
at
Cascade
national
park
and
the
orchards
at
the
Minnesota
Arboretum.
These
pieces
will
be
at
the
gallery
through
august,
twenty-first.
That
is
the
buzz
on
bloomington
today
for
the
week
of
july.
Twenty
ninth
through
August.
