A
Welcome
to
Bloomington
today,
I'm
Laurie
Schulte
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
buzz
for
the
week
of
November
25th
through
December,
first
and
we're
starting
off
here
in
the
council
chambers,
because
a
new
franchise
agreement
was
approved
for
a
new
cable
TV
service
and
it
will
soon
be
available
to
Bloomington
residents.
This
will
bring
competition
to
bloomington's
cable
market.
The
council
voted
unanimously
to
implement
the
ordinance
allowing
CenturyLink
to
offer
its
prison
cable
TV
services
in
town.
This
ordinance
is
the
8th
of
69
franchise
agreements.
A
Centurylink
is
working
on
in
the
Twin
Cities.
The
franchise
ordinance
specifies
an
effective
date
of
December.
1St
century
link
will
begin
rolling
out
its
prism
TV
service.
After
that,
the
company
will
also
start
marketing
to
residents.
Not
every
household
will
be
able
to
get
the
new
cable
service
at
first
CenturyLink
service,
which
is
delivered
through
a
fiber-optic
network,
will
be
offered
to
neighborhoods,
where
its
network
is
already
in
place.
According
to
centurylink,
future
expansion
depends
on
the
success
of
its
prism
TV
service.
A
A
long
time
state
leader
who
used
to
serve
as
a
city
council
member
here
in
Bloomington,
is
resigning.
After
23
years
of
public
office,
Anna
cesky
of
district
50
be
served
nine
terms
in
the
Minnesota
House
and
twice
as
a
Bloomington
City
Council
member
she's,
considered
by
many
to
be
an
expert
on
state
tax
law.
Being
the
DFL
lead
on
the
Tax
Committee
for
many
years,
Lynn
Chesky
is
returning
to
the
private
sector.
At
a
Minneapolis
law
firm,
there
will
be
a
special
election
to
fill
her
spot.
A
Over
here
at
Normandale,
Community
College
a
grant
will
bring
training
for
the
local
workforce.
These
are
pictures
from
a
grant
signing
where
Norman,
Dale
and
bloomington-based
resound
announced
a
three-year
training
grant
for
employees.
The
350
thousand
dollars
was
awarded
by
the
Department
of
Employment
and
economic
development
and
aims
to
train
the
workforce
to
keep
and
grow
jobs
locally.
It's
a
partnership
between
Norman
Dale's,
continuing
education
and
customized
training
for
resound
employees.
The
college
and
resound
will
develop
courses,
so
workers
can
be
prepared
to
work
in
the
customized
device
market.
A
B
A
Fall
also
shaped
up
to
be
pretty
good.
With
n
seasonably
warm
temps,
the
first
week
of
November
was
packed
with
golfers
at
dawn.
In
four
days
there
were
600
golfers
hitting
the
links.
Well,
we
came
close
to
being
the
latest
closing
day
on
November
29th
in
2009
city
courses
closed
this
year
on
november
nineteenth.
That
is
the
buzz
on
bloomington
today
for
the
week
of
november
25th
through
december.
A
First,
if
you
would
like
to
watch
other
stories
from
the
show
go
to
this
week's
playlist,
there
you'll
find
a
behind-the-scenes
look
at
the
city's
latest
art
commission.
That
will
be
hanging
from
the
ceiling.
There's
also
a
story
about
one
city,
employees
very
special
birthday.
This
PG
a
professional,
got
a
gift.
He
wasn't
expecting
check
those
out
and
thanks
for
watching.
