Description
In these videos you will hear primary election candidates for the new Minnesota House of
Representatives District 50B. The name of only one candidate per political party can be
printed on the General Election ballot in November. Two candidates from the DFL party have
filed to represent District 50B, thus triggering a Primary election contest.
The District 50B House race is the only primary contest this year for candidates seeking to

B
Hi,
I'm
andrew
carlson
and
serving
you
in
the
minnesota
house
of
representatives
is
truly
an
honor
and
a
job
that
I
take
very
seriously.
In
fact,
the
most
important
part
of
my
job
is
to
make
sure
that
our
state
government
is
working
effectively
for
you.
If
you
ever
have
any
questions,
please
contact
me
anytime.
I
appreciate
hearing
from
you.
B
I'm
excited
to
be
running
again
for
the
minnesota
house
of
representatives
and
to
share
my
positive
campaign
message
with
bloomington
residents.
I
believe
minnesotans
care
deeply
about
our
state
and
want
to
see
one
another
succeed.
Working
together.
We
can
strengthen
our
communities
by
improving
educational
opportunities,
making
affordable
health
care
a
reality
and
increasing
racial
and
economic
prosperity
for
all
minnesotans.
B
B
C
I
have
over
25
years
of
service
to
the
city
of
bloomington
as
a
city
council,
member
planning,
commissioner,
housing
and
redevelopment
authority,
commissioner
metropolitan
council
representative,
and
for
the
last
four
years
as
your
state
representative
at
the
capitol
where
I'm
the
vice
chair
of
the
local
government
committee,
I'm
an
economist
by
education
and
I
work
for
in
information
technology
for
the
last
25
years
of
my
career,
the
last
10
of
which
were
in
health
care.
Health
I.t,
which
gives
me
experience
in
both
health
care.
C
I'm
strongly
committed
to
the
cause
of
public
safety
and
equal
justice
under
the
law
judy
and
I
are
actively
involved
in
moms
demand
action
which
has
named
me
a
minnesota
gun
sense
candidate.
For
my
efforts
to
pass
common
sense,
gun
safety
legislation,
judy
is
a
retired
teacher
and
the
two
of
us
have
always
been
strongly
supportive
of
bloomington's
public
schools,
and
I
have
been
endorsed
by
the
minnesota
education
association
for
my
efforts
to
secure
funding
for
our
schools.
C
I
believe
that
climate
change
is
real
and
from
my
position
on
the
transportation
committee,
I
have
worked
to
promote
the
adoption
of
electric
vehicles
of
all
kinds,
because
transportation
is
now
the
single
biggest
contributor
to
greenhouse
gas
emissions
in
minnesota,
and
I
have
been
recognized
by
the
sierra
club
and
conservation
minnesota
for
those
efforts.
I
have
been
a
strong
advocate
for
providing
sufficient
workforce
housing
by
both
providing
increased
funding
and
by
through
my
own
regulatory
reform
initiatives.
C
I
support
universal
assets
to
access
to
health
care
and
I've
developed
at
legislation
to
expose
and
reduce
the
high
cost
of
both
drugs
and
health
care
services,
and
I've
been
endorsed
by
the
minnesota
nurses
association.
I
have
consistently
supported
the
rights
of
workers
and
have
been
endorsed
by
the
af
of
lcio
and
numerous
individual
unions.
C
I've
leveraged
my
expertise
in
information
technology
to
ensure
that
the
transition
from
mnlars
to
the
replacement,
men,
dry
season
system
for
drivers
licenses
and
vehicle
registration
would
go
smoothly
and
it
has
rick
king,
the
chair
of
the
governor's
blue
ribbon
council
on
information
technology
reform,
walked
up
to
me
at
a
recent
chamber
of
commerce
event
and
simply
said
steve
you're,
making
a
difference
and
when
it
comes
to
information
technology.
As
a
member
of
the
bicameral
bipartisan
legislative
I.t
caucus.
C
As
an
example,
I
have
been
working
with
legislators
in
several
other
states
to
draft
comprehensive
consumer
data
privacy
legislation
for
three
years
now
and
will
be
presenting
my
work
on
that
topic.
At
a
national
conference
of
state
legislators
work
shop
in
denver
this
summer
by
next
january.
I
expect
to
have
a
bill
that
is
worthy
of
passage
for
consideration
in
the
next
legislature.
C
By
voting
to
reelect
me,
you
will
be
giving
me
the
opportunity
to
see
that
right
work
through
to
fruition,
which
will
provide
you
with
the
data
privacy
rights
that
you
deserve.
I'm
doing
the
same
kind
of
work
on
my
health
care
on
my
housing
on
my
transportation
work
and
by
returning
me
to
the
capitol
this
this
year,
you'll
giving
me
the
opportunity
to
see
those
efforts
all
through
to
fruition.

you
very
much
