In
just

the
council
adopted
a
new
comprehensive
plan
called
forward
2040
that
talks
about
opportunities
for
more
housing
in
the
community,
including
affordable
housing.
Like
this
project
right
behind
me,
the
plan
is
the
culmination
of
a
multi-year
process
gathering
input
from
the
community
and
planning
the
future
of
our
city.

and
affordability
and
enhancing
sustainability
and
resilience
for

the

will
accomplish

is
national
breastfeeding
month
and
Bloomington
businesses
were
recognized
for
being
breastfeeding:
supportive
workplaces,
the
Public,
Health
Division,
spotlighted
eight
businesses
that
continue
to
be
leaders
in
supporting
breastfeeding
moms
at
work.
Bloomington
Public
Health
has
among
the
highest
breastfeeding
initiation
rates
of
WIC
agencies
in
Minnesota.
It's
a
program
that
educates
encourages
and
promotes
breastfeeding.

Finally,
August
5th
was
proclaimed
to
be
John
shots
line
date
in
the
city
of
Bloomington
recognizing
a
tireless
advocate
for
people
with
disabilities.
John
was
a
leader
he
helped
raise
public
consciousness
while
advocating
for
access
and
inclusion
for
people
of
all
abilities.
He
was
a
leader
locally,
but
he
also
held
many
roles
on
state
and
national
committees.
