From YouTube: Bloomington SWAT Training
Description
Bloomington's SWAT team recently trained a new member, and we received an inside look at the rigorous efforts put forth by this highly technical group of law enforcement officers.
A
B
A
A
Sager
knew
in
high
school,
he
was
destined
to
wear
a
badge
Sager
graduated
from
Metropolitan
State
University
with
a
bachelor's
degree
in
law
enforcement
and
after
stints
at
both
the
Wyoming
and
Apple
Valley
Police
Department's.
He
found
a
more
permanent
home
in
Bloomington.
Where
he's
been
a
patrol
officer
for
the
last
two-and-a-half
years
and
in
May
of
2013,
a
rare
opportunity
to
apply
to
be
a
member
of
the
SWAT
team
opened
up
in
Sager
jumped
on.
It
was.
C
A
B
It's
somebody
with
a
lot
of
Drive
a
lot
of
a
lot
of
that
ability
to
just
go
out
and
make
something
happen
on
your
own.
We
need
that
for
the
team,
because
when
some,
when
things
go
stressful
yeah,
we
got
to
be
able
to
pull
it
together
and
and
have
that
drive
there
when
you
know
it
has
to
be
an
officer,
male
or
female
has
been
on
the
police
department
for
a
minimum
of
two
years.
It's
currently
in
good
standing
with
no
discipline
issues.
B
They
need
to
pass
a
physical
fitness
test
and
then
that
test
continues
twice
yearly,
also
for
them
to
continue
staying
on
the
team.
And
then
we
have
an
interview
process
with
a
couple
of
sergeants
and
a
commander
and
then
a
peer
evaluation
with
other
officers
and
on
the
SWAT
team
and
then
with
supervisors
on
the
police
department,
physical.
A
B
Training,
in
other
words,
were
you
just
standing
in
front
of
a
target
without
any
stress.
Just
plunking
bullets
at
a
target
is
not
a
real-world
scenario
that
doesn't
happen.
Police
officers
aren't
ever
going
to
shoot
a
paper
target.
That's
not
shooting
at
them
real
scenario.
Real
life
is
a
very
high-stress
situation,
with
guns
or
knives
or
fighting
or
all
of
the
above,
and
we
have
to
somehow
simulate
getting
that
heart
rate
up
in
an
officer
for
training.
A
A
C
Fitness
is
an
important
part
of
for
any
police
officer,
no
matter
what
your
specific
role
is.
Just
the
training,
that's
why
we
always
do
the
training
with
all
the
gear
on,
because
it's
a
lot
different,
moving
around
and
shooting
the
guns
and
and
doing
all
that
different
stuff
with
the
gear
on
vs.
without
it
on
makes
it
a
lot
more
difficult.
Yet.
