From YouTube: Bloomington Today: The BUZZ August 8 - 14
Description
Find out the Buzz in Bloomington for the week of August 1 through the 7. We'll let residents in on what to expect as the I-494 Improvement Project is now underway. We'll also share how you can get involved with the health and well-being of your city through a new do.town online forum.
A
Now
there
is
a
new
way
for
you
to
get
involved
with
do
town
in
late
July,
a
new
online
forum
was
launched,
asking
residents
to
directly
share
ideas
with
friends,
neighbors
and
civic
leaders
about
what
they
think
will
make
a
healthier
community.
The
site
features
polls
asking
questions
like.
Please
choose
the
top
two
healthy
choices:
you'd
buy
in
a
Bloomington
concession
stand
and
what
would
you
plant
in
a
community
garden?
You
can
submit
a
vote
view.
A
Do
town
coordinators
are
asking
people
to
view
this
online
forum
as
a
community
townhall
accessible
anytime,
you're
online,
and
to
kick
off
do
town
ideas,
organizers
staged
flash
mobs.
The
flash
mob
in
Bloomington
took
place
at
the
mall
of
america
on
thursday
july
26.
The
theme
was
busy.
Parents
can
still
boogie

and
children
in
strollers.
Surprise

the
mall

a

A
The
event,
in
addition
to
drawing
attention
to
the
overall
do
town
campaign
was
meant
to
showcase,
do
town
ideas,
inviting
everyone
to
get
online
and
share
their
thoughts
and

residents

being

Bloomington
farmers
market.

saturday
august
eleventh
running
from

and
if
you're
there
before

in
bloomington.
A
Community
gardens
day
is
sponsored
by
gardening
matters
and
more
than
50
gardens
around
the
state
are
hosting
neighborhood
open
houses
at
their
garden
sites.
Representatives

attendees
to
come

the

and
see
what's
growing,
while
gaining
a
little
insight
about
the
healthy
and
activity
promoting
hobby
of
gardening.
The
open
house
will
take
place
between
eight-thirty
and
1030am

The

improvement
project
recently
kicked
off
and
we
want
to
make
motorists
aware
of
some
detours
and
closures
before
they
hit
the
road.

On
a
past
episode
of
the
buzz
on
Bloomington
today,
we
let
residents
know
about
a
complete
closure
of
I

from
highway
102
35w
taking
place
in
late
July.
This
was
due
to
the
removal
of
the
Xerxes
Avenue
Bridge
and
while
the
bridge
is
now
down,
crews
are
busy
starting
grading
and
dirt
removal
for
the
new
bridge
construction
set
to
take
place
next
year.
Also,
ramp
closures
are
frequent.
A
All
around
the
area
between
highway
103
4th
Avenue,
the
ramp
from
northbound
35w
to
west
494
is
closed
as
well
as
the
ramp
from
494
west
to
35w
south.
These
will
remain
closed
for
approximately
three
more
weeks.
Also,
the
westbound
494
ramp
to
Penn
Avenue
will
remain
closed
for
an
estimated
six
weeks
to
sign
up
to
receive

Well
now,
it's
time
to
take
a

at

where
we

the
changing

exhibitions
in

galleries.
The
upstairs
atrium
gallery
at
Bloomington,
Civic

has
been
transformed
into
a
place
where
whimsical
creatures,
straight

someone's

gather
the

remain
in

Art
sculptures
are
made
of
primarily
polymer
clay
using
the
ancient
technique
of
millefiori.
A
Each
piece
evokes
imagination
with
animals
and
figures
celebrating
all
aspects
of
life.

connects
children
of
all
ages,
bringing
everyone
a
feeling
that
the

full
of
discovery
and
endless
possibilities.
The
upstairs
atrium
gallery
is
located
on
the
north
side
of
civic
plaza
on
the
second
floor.
This
exhibit
as
well
as
the
Inez
Greenberg
gallery,
is
free
and
open
to
the
public,

that's

on

today
for
