From YouTube: March 31 Council Minute with Mayor Tim Busse
Description
Council Minute: Mayor Tim Busse discusses the upcoming City Council meeting, Curbside Cleanup and using Bloomington parks safely.
A
Hello,
everyone
Mayor
Tim
Lissy
here
this
is
your
council
update
for
Tuesday,
March,
31st
2020,
first
of
all,
I
hope
everybody
is
doing
well
and
everybody
is
staying.
Safe,
Bloomington
is
doing
an
outstanding
job
with
the
governor's
stay
at
home
order
and
we're
seeing
great
compliance,
and
it's
really
going
to
help
us
to
flatten
this
curve
and
we're
really
appreciative
of
the
compliance
and
the
work
and
everything
that
people
are
doing.
I
appreciate
your
sacrifice,
I
appreciate
all
the
Bloomington
is
doing.
A
Please
do
keep
it
up
three
things
I'd
like
to
talk
with
you
about
today.
First
of
all,
there
will
be
a
regular
City
Council
meeting
on
Monday
April
6
next
Monday,
but
it's
going
to
be
the
most
unique
council
meeting,
I
think
in
Bloomington
City
Council
history,
because
it's
gonna
be
all
telephonic,
except
for
myself
and
one
or
two
staff
members.
There
will
be
nobody
else
in
the
council
chambers.
All
of
the
council.
A
Members
will
be
calling
in
we're
gonna,
be
taking
comments
for
the
public
hearings
that
we're
gonna
be
doing
via
the
phone
and
we're
gonna
be
doing
all
our
business
telephonically
be
remotely
much
like
everybody
else
is
doing
working
remotely
in
Minnesota.
Today
it
is
legal
by
Minnesota
law
in
times
of
emergency
that
we're
able
to
do
this.
We're
gonna,
take
advantage
of
that
and
maintain
that
social
distance
and
make
sure
that
we
don't
have
crowds
congregating
and
try
and
be
as
safe
as
possible.
It
is
gonna,
be
unique.
A
It
will
be
broadcast
live
as
it
always
is,
and
will
be
available
on
tape,
afterward
be
sure
to
be
sure
to
tune
in
because,
like
I
said,
it's
gonna
be
a
historic
meeting
for
Bloomington.
The
second
thing
that
I'd
like
to
talk
to
you
about
today
is
curbside
clean-up
right
now.
Curbside
cleanup
in
Bloomington
is
a
goal.
A
We've
talked
we've
heard
from
a
lot
of
residents
who
are
both
pro
or
con
against
curbside
cleanup
this
year
because
of
all
the
extenuating
circumstances,
but
I
can
tell
you
that
our
public
health
professionals
have
a
shirt
us
that
it
can
be
done
safely.
If
we
do
things
correctly,
first
of
all,
we're
gonna
rely
on
the
haulers
to
provide
the
adequate
protective
gear
for
the
folks
who
are
actually
picking
up
the
stuff
on
curbside
clean-up
day.
A
Secondly,
we're
encouraging
residents,
don't
put
your
stuff
out
too
early,
if
you
put
it
out
two
or
three
days
too
early
that
encourages
the
Pickers
to
come
through
the
neighborhoods,
so
follow
the
regulations
as
to
when
you
can
put
your
stuff
out
for
your
curbside
clean-up
day
and
finally
on
curbside
Saturday,
which
we
I
know
is
always
a
busy
time
in
neighborhoods,
if
you're
out
and
about
and
taking
a
walk
with
your
family
or
walking
the
dog.
Just
please
maintain
that
safe
social
distance.
A
A
The
third
thing
that
I
want
to
talk
to
you
about
today
is
Bloomington
Parks
Bloomington
parks
are
open
and
we
are
encouraging
residents
get
out
there
and
enjoy
the
parks,
especially
with
this
beautiful
spring
weather
that
we've
been
seeing
the
last
few
days
we've
heard
of
surrounding
communities
that
are
closing
their
parks,
who
are
roping
off
their
play
equipment.
What
we're
asking
our
residents
to
do
is
enjoy
our
parks,
but
do
so
safely
and
do
so
wisely
maintain
that
social
distance
avoid
the
the
pickup
basketball
games
or
organize
practices.
